Lafreniere is just...a guy. Third year in this league and I don't see any gamebreaking attributes from him. Get Montreal's 1st for him at the deadline and I'm doing cartwheels.

The problem is no one wants to be seen as the guy that traded away the #1 overall player that went on to become a star elsewhere. The (small) chance that Lafreniere is a star somewhere will prevent Drury from trading him. He'll at least wait until he tanks his value and then he'll "have to" trade him for garbage.

I did watch.
He was the guy not really doing anything at the hash marks when the goal was scored.
Yes he came on late in OT, and I'm not even saying the goal was his fault, but he played in OT and was on the ice and in the play when the winner was scored.

But his time would have been longer if they didn't score while he was actively part of a shift.
Maybe he could have tied up a player?

GG is a clown with his ice time distribution, but the fact is that 2 kids were on the ice with 80 seconds left and they got scored on

If this continues, I'd ask him to waive his NTC. He's by far our most talented offensive player, but we could free up so much money and we'd get a very nice haul from a potential playoff team.

Though knowing Drury, he'd probably get a second-round pick and Pierre Escargot while retaining 50% of his salary.

I'm not sure how much of a haul it will be with him making 11.5 million for the next few years. How many teams can afford that?

I just thought they would be our best chance at getting some of the possession game going and drawing some penalties at the very least.
