Not super sure I’m ready to call Korpi washed until we can play a couple of games in a row without or D serving up absolutely wide open high danger scoring chances to the opposing team.

Korpi has had as many seasons with a sub 900 a % as one above 900,not counting this one. Seems very lottery ticket like

Defensive woes of skaters in front of him aside, Korpi is frustrating af.

Makes several amazing highlight reel saves every game, but also lets in softies and backbreaking goals at the worst times.

never will have a chance when consistently letting opposition score 4 and 5 goals each game, with a couple of them being ones that should have been stops. But at the same time one could argue that Korpi kept it closer than it could have been with some amazing goaltending. Both statements can be true for most games.

Great. 5 f***in years of this nonsense. Clown shoe wearing gabriel pizza eating mfer.

Right now he is like a golfer with the yips, or a pitcher who has lost the strike zone. He has no confidence and is fighting the puck terribly. We desperately need a goalie guru to work with him to help him find his way out of it. In the meantime, play Sogaard - time for him to get some work and show us that he might be ready for prime time. The bad news is that our two veteran goalies suck - the good news is that we have some good organizational depth at that position. Start looking at the young guys, and get ready to flush Korpisalo and Forsberg this summer...

Take the 8 year buyout hit as a punishment for keeping dorion as long as we did and try again
I talked about the buyout option when the contract was signed and it's honestly not even that bad. $10.67M spread out over 8 years, against a cap that's going to be well over $100M halfway through the buyout. The caphit in the first year of his buyout (let's say, next year) would be $333K. Turn a $4M caphit next year into $333K, on top of all the other open cap space you have gives you an opportunity to really make some dramatic changes to the composition of this roster. There's A LOT worse contracts to buyout and the 8 year buyout term isn't even all that bad considering how quickly the cap should rise coming out of a 3-year flat cap.

Like I said before. Send him to the minors and let him work his way back. Too bad Forsberg got hurt. His talent level is extreme and he can make saves that other goalies just can't. I cannot understand how he ends up missing so many saveable pucks given his athleticism. Needs time with a different goalie coach. Structure can be taught.

I’d rather keep him as a “backup” or 1B than pay the buyout and now pay the price for another good backup goalie.

Or he finds his game and competes for (or seizes) number 1.

Goalies can be unpredictable, no reason to pay a premium for another roll of the dice, especially when we know he can be good, and team play in front of him is a significant factor. At least 3 goals in the past several games were tic tac toe (back and forth the the slot 3 times) with no chance at all. Others he would want back, but maybe our replacement goalie fights it as well.

Jacques Martin is going to play him next game as a 4th line winger.
Probably more effective than in net.

He's now worse than Samsonov hahaha.

I am with you I dont think they should be burning anymore money. But when has he ever been good? Ive literally never seen it.

Samsonov is 5-2-6
Vanacek is 14-7-2
Raanta is 9-5-2
I assume you wouldnt have posted this if you thought that level of goaltending is good enough to win...... You arent winning anything that matters with terrible goaltending. Just because teams have found ways to win a couple of games doesnt mean its going to happen when it matters.
