Forsberg is clearly the superior goalie, it's not even a debate. The rotating goaltender idea needs to be shot dead. Forsberg is the #1. Just like how Chabot should never be leading our D in icetime, he's our #3 now. Coaching needs to smarten up with their deployment and lineup choices.

While I agree with you on Forsberg being the better goalie, I'm not sure we can give up on Chabot just yet, although I agree he is frustrating to watch sometimes. He just has so much talent & is an excelent skater, but he seems to have lost his tool box & makes some bone head decisions. But given his talent he could easily turn that around quickly, but we need him to be consistently good game in & game out. Stutzle makes some bad plays too & made several today.

I'm not ready to give up on Korpisalo yet, but I've said for awhile that signing a famously inconsistent goaltender to a 5 year deal following a good season was not a risk worth taking.

He's always been a guy who can steal a game and lose you one. The type of goaltender who can make an outrageous save and then let in a soft goal in the same shift.

I don't disagree with your points on Chabot. I think he has a place on our team, as the #3 defensemen. Playing him in his current state above that is just simply bad coaching unless injuries occur.

The last point about Chabot and Stutzle. Chabot takes more heat, but I believe that's due to Chabot committing more errors in the last two seasons without showing signs of improvement. Stutzle is obviously still improving and hasn't shown a long common trend in that regard like Chabot. If Stutzle does show that, he'll take the same heat as well. They're both special players (although I do question Chabot's intelligence), but one has been struggling for two seasons and the other is off to a slow start.

The Matt Murray contract and the Gustavsson for Talbot swap exist. Dorion's terrible decisions when it comes to evaluating goaltending isn't new and so far Karpisalo's signing is in line with the previous ones.

People forgot Mike Condon's contract too

OR to the fact that Zibanejad is playing in NY, Stone in Vegas, Byram in Colorado, Gustavsson in Minny, Korchinski in Chicago

Did you make this post after looking at my avatar?

We lost so many trade trees under Dorion, it's actually incredible that we have any kind of future. Think of Zibanejad/Brassard, Turris/Duchene, Stone, 7th OA/DeBrincat and what we have left for all that... JBD, Thomson, Brannstrom and a conditional first.

Dorion is like the average hockey fan that is lulled into name recognition. It's exactly why it was a surprise that Artem Zub was actually a good hockey player

What we need is nobodys who are good at hockey, because they are cheap and can support our young core adequately. But instead, Dorion goes out and burn a big part of the available cap space on a below average goalie
That contract is not helping in rounding out the top-9 right now

I mean, Korpisalo "could" pay off if his past suckage was 100% hip related but damn what a risky move for a team that is trying to get out of a long rebuild.

It's a Matt Murray 2.0 type move, gambling on him to finally be able to stay healthy

I don't want to be right, I don't want to be right, I...

And they got two of the best players in that 2020 draft who are playing here, Tkachuk arguably is one of the best from his draft yr & is playing here, Norris has been great who they got in a trade who is playing here, Batherson was a later pick & has been very productive playing here. This team has a lot of good players too.

DJ loves the see saw goaltenders. Don’t know how you don’t start forsberg today after he bailed us out in the first against Washington.

There was nothing wrong with his play tonight nor against Tampa... The team was a reckless defensively tonight and gave up a shitload of PPs against, so far, one of the best PPs in the league
Disagree. That 3-1 goal was a back-breaker that should have been easily stopped. It’s not like he was being shelled with pucks today.

Ok? What does that have to do with Korpisalo?

5 goals on 23 shots looks bad win or lose... majority of Detroit's 23 shots were high quality chances...and he did make some big saves in the first period to keep the game at 1-1 ...

No need to panic...1PM games are lame and the early start clearly affected the play of some guys. I guess AD choosing to dip pissed off a lot of the Sens players; often choosing to focus on him instead of the game.

A few times this season we've witnessed the Sens hold the opposition without a shot on net for an extended period of time and with that I wonder about the impact such stretches have on goalies.
