The end of the regular season is near. Rangers are pretty much assured of 4th place in conference and yes, 4th in the OHL. Quite an achievement for a team that many thought wouldn't even make playoffs at the first of the season. I jokingly said that maybe they would be 8th place and match the season-that-shall-not-be-named the year prior.

Throughout the season, our rookies saw a lot of ice time and gained much experience. The future looks bright. Now, they will get some playoff experience - just how much? Who knows?

Crazy things have happened in playoffs of the past. Rangers should be able to get past the first round. Although, Erie is going to be a tough challenge. London is expected to go deep but one never knows. Ask Windsor. Saginaw is fine no matter what happens and the Soo is a force to be reckoned with.

And there's the draft. I always look forward to this. Will Rangers take best player OR will they target a top D in the first round? I can't help but think a D. And then there's the CHL import draft. One pick or two will depend on whether Pobezal will join the Rangers this coming season. Lots to think and talk about!

I wouldn't say they are pretty much assured of 4th in the OHL. You have the top 3 teams in the East nipping at their heels, Kitchener might need to finish 7-1 to stay in front. There is also still a chance for them to sneak into 3rd in the conference, although it's less likely at this point.

Still, Kitchener has probably exceeded everyone's regular season expectations. But soon the real fun begins. Good luck in the playoffs!

Rangers put in a solid 60 minutes. Killed off some penalties nicely. Sale with 3 points thanked the HF Board guys for pushing him to be a better player. :naughty: Not sure what is going on with the Attack. They had their chances and were stymied by Parsons. They just aren't playing with pace. Rangers seem to blow past them into the offensive end with ease for the better part. On a side note Knights lost to the Storm. Funny comment by a Knight poster saying most refs call Guelph as there home city. That is a fun fact I never knew.

Rangers playing like they used to play prior to the Worlds. Is the Mesar line starting to heat up? That 2nd line is needed for the playoffs. And Dirracolo gets better every game...the kid that was passed over in the draft....we've seen that before. The team needs to keep heading in this direction for sure.
GO RANGERS!

You might want to " fact check " the comment about the refs.

Martin looks rusty. But once he heats up…

Rangers are starting to play some good hockey again. I have seen some signs of them picking up the physical play and skating really well. The sort of game that was there before the Christmas break. I just want to them maintain the good play they have going over the last seven games and go into the playoffs feeling good about their game and probably more importantly stay healthy down the stretch here since a healthy lineup really lengthens us out and gives us an advantage with our bottom six over most other teams.

Dirracolo has been impressive. As he gets faster, he will be a force. I have as yet to see anyone get the better of him on a hit.

Was an attempt at humor. I guess I would get the hook. :) Not many of us were happy about the way Sale was performing. Seemed to be spinning his wheels. He was effective last night in Owen Sound. Hopefully we see more and more of this in his game. Jussi thinks he will be a force going forward.
Sale' came to the Rangers highly rated but has disappointed since his arrival. Not sure what was the matter but he did miss a cpl weeks after the WJHC due to an injury.
Was this the reason why??...Perhaps I should read "Holmes on Hockey"! ;)

The Owen Sound tv guy mentioned an Attack hit Bull Dog Dirracolo last night and got the worse of the hit. It was said he was farm strong. Guess that player found out.:)

Listening to Jussi on the Coach's radio show today. One point he made regarding having extra roster players around was you can drop one in the line up if another is injured or ill. Also said if a player isn't playing the way they require you can put someone else in their spot.

Great to see the rookies stepping up when the big dogs were having an off night.

The more I watch Martin play post injury the more concerned I get. I just can’t see his skating keeping up with the pace in a high tempo series.

I'm really hoping it's just struggles to get in game shape, but it's almost like his stride has changed, that's what worries me.
