Kitchener
Jeff Marek has the Spirt being the likely landing spot for Owen Beck now.
If there is any truth to this, then I hope they pull of a Spitfires 2023! Though that could make things even worse, personally. I hate it when these host teams get knocked off early and then come back for the Mem Cup, rested and all. To me, it has always been about the battle and not the war. Oh well.

I am looking forward to the game tonight though my expectations are not high. But I see their 2nd and 3rd leading point getters have as many points as our..........Trent Swick! For some reason, I find this encouraging. LOL!

And both of these players never played 1 game together this season. So replacing 1 of them with a good player is priority. I think the 2nd D we need to acquire can just be a depth 5/6 guy who isn’t going to break the bank.
Actually Hamara and Schmidt were in the lineup for two games together. Back to back shutouts vs Owen Sound and Peterborough. No coincidence imo.

Well there goes the Top FWD off the board.

I'm just glad the Rangers waited to make any moves. Seeing Beck on Saginaw will hopefully pump the breaks for MM.

Again, if we were in the EAST it would be so much easier to be a buyer. Now staring down the barrel of this Saginaw squad. There's absolutely no way i trade either Romano or Reid. Not a chance. And come to think of it i'd keep Ellinas as well. He will be quite the OA when our 07 boys are 19.

Sounds like Saginaw had pre draft discussions with players willing to move their NTC. Smart

You are correct. For some reason I thought the Hamara trade happened and then hours later Schmidt was returned.

I’m looking at the big picture here.

Getting Pobezal here now would be ideal to fill that second import spot. I really don’t think it will happen this year though and he will come over to start next year. Trade for Vilmanis with a Hamara like value. Trade for a vet #4/5 defenceman and call it a day.

Swick - Rehkopf - Mesar
Martin - Sop - Lam
Ellinas - Vilmanis - Miseljevic
Bottineau - Mercer - Pugliese

Romano, Morey, Stark as extras. I would love to have Romano in there but him and Bottineau can switch spots. Lam I have on the second line because those three showed a lot of chmistry together and it makes the third line really good.

Brzustewicz - Andonovski
Reid - Motew
(new player) - Campbell

Scott as extra.

I would keep Reid on the second pair come playoff time. He is the future of defence here and he will be an absolute stud in a few years. He has been holding his own this year and he will be given a much bigger role next year. Groom him into it early.

A couple of big WHL trades today involving World Junior players Conor Geekie and Matthew Savoie. Both played for the Wenatchee Wild. Interesting part is that the Wild were in 2nd place in the standings but had little draft capital. Sound familiar?

Just going by statistics the Wild may be doing it with smoke and mirrors. Their goals for/against differential is only +13. Rangers are +61.

That team could get past the 2nd round. But it’ll run into a wall in the 3rd round.

No disrespect, if that’s all we do, I’d just as soon sell Hunter B, Mesar and Sop and likely still get to the 2nd round.

Scott seems to have been passed by Dirracolo on the depth chart. Possibly getting sent out for a 10 rounder?

Someone Stark got bigger. At game and he seriously looks 3” taller then start of season.

What a goal by Lam…I have no issues with him as 2nd liner to improve the 3rd line.
Not me. The kid is very good. But he makes the third line better and he’d face a little lesser opposition. Bumping Miseljevic down to the 3rd line takes him away from the quality line mates he’s enjoyed all year. I don’t want his production affected negatively.

Switch Swick and Martin if/when healthy. Been playing without complete 1st line for over 2 weeks.

I think that slew foot major will come back. He had Parekh up high pulling him back but no foot or leg used behind Parekh’s skates or legs to take him down.
Have to disagree. Unintentional but the legs did make contact.

Knew we were in trouble with Burchell. He and Hutchinson are my 2 least faves
Yea. Burchell held the Rangers to 13 shots 😥

I realize we were missing a complete #1 line tonight, but that was our defense. Unless we add a stud shutdown guy that plays a lot of minutes I don't think we can get by the Sags or London in the 2nd round if we don't finish first
