Missy or Sudbury could perhaps ante up still if they wish to join the arms race? What team buying has those types of picks left? Are they willing to spend everything they have on 1 player?

I don't get it all from OTT's POV and am almost convinced it's not true, but it's the same person who has given me only good info so far.I like it. Late birthday. 6th round pick of St. Louis this year

Was even told two 2nd's, 3rd, 4th. I'm not sure if there will be slight variance there, but it's a respectable price to consider the fact he's got a real chance of coming back as an OA still next yea
If this is true, it is a real head scratcher. Pure defender. Decent size. Takes care of his own end very well. Paired last year with Matier on the top pairing. Almost 100% certain to return for an OA season.
If this deal is in fact true, it means Boyd has something else up his sleeve for a more impact D-Man and needs the picks.
Who would be left to your last point? Buchinger potentially?
No. Murray Hiebert era. Actually, he did make one trade in the year he did nothing at the deadline - gifted a 3rd round pick to Guelph so he could say Fabbri was a Ranger. When was the last time Kitchener didn’t do anything at the deadline? Spott era?
You could be right Even.Yes it is a failure because everything you laid out in your post he should have seen coming.
Therefore, the failure is not selling. We could have sold Brzustewicz, Sop and Mesar for large return and still gone to the 2nd round.
Instead, we’ll graduate them and the cupboard is still thin.
Not something I want to be right about though. You could be right Even.
Maybe MM is waiting til the 11th hour to swing a Guelph / OS Suzuki panic deal.Is Erie not a consideration as a trade partner?
I haven’t heard anyone really mentioning Sova/Fimis/Misiak.
They could fill some gaps here that’s for sure.
I've been thinking this trade deadline has Murray Hiebert's fingerprints all over it. I believe he's still listed as a Senior Advisor.No. Murray Hiebert era. If MM does nothing, I don’t want to here that Hiebert line “we made our deadline deals early” crap.
I also don’t want to hear that we’ll get Martin back as a “free” addition.
Loser quotes.
So in other words, someone along with MM has their hands on the steering wheel?I've been thinking this trade deadline has Murray Hiebert's fingerprints all over it. I believe he's still listed as a Senior Advisor.
I'd agree but the guy playing the role of Suzuki is on our team - RehkopfMaybe MM is waiting til the 11th hour to swing a Guelph / OS Suzuki panic deal.
I think that's a problem that's always been there and we/I were hoping it was in the past.So in other words, someone along with MM has their hands on the steering wheel?
Beautiful.
No doubt.They do have 2 assistant GMs…
I’m a big Jussi fan. (Ahokas, not Smollett). If anyone can get the most out of this group, it's Jussi. And we won't have him forever, as he will be in high demand. He's already shown how much he can get out of the team we have. We are still first place in the league and we were never supposed to be in this spot. I think people forget this. He is the most important piece of our team. We might not continue the massive success we have shown, but I would hate to look back and think that a team that been playing as well as they have this year with the best coach in the league decided to sell. I'd rather continue overachieving (if we are) with an A-List coach and what will be a much healthier lineup in a couple of weeks than underachieve or be content with having potential to be competitive with whoever replaces Jussi. We need to go for it. And standing pat is better than selling as when healthy we can beat anyone. I think that most other teams in the league would love to be in the position we are in.

But, today he has three veteran D on the roster who he’s being forced to play the crap out of. Brzustewicz. Motew. Andonovski.
He has a 16 year old rookie that he’s being forced to play more minutes than he should be playing against stronger competition than he should see. Reid.
He has another rookie who at best should be getting #6 D minutes on a deep playoff run. Campbell.
I don’t care who’s coaching this team. He’s not going to find lengthly playoff success with that thin a D corps.
He’s having to play the top four way too many minutes now. Today, it’s the regular season and they’re finding it hard. They are exhausted. What going to happen in the post season when they play three games in four nights, twice in one round likely.
I’ll tell you what’s going to happen. They’re going to get ran into the ground. Hopefully, we don’t lose one or more of them to injury as a result.
My game plan vs the Rangers? Dump it in and hammer the D. Over and over and over. Wear them down. Hit to hurt but be clean.
Mike, you can’t possibly allow this team to enter the post season without additions to the back end, can you? Really??

We’ll see. Why no trigger pull yet? What can be the holdup? If the Mayich rumour is true, you have a guy that can play 25 minutes easy.
