Vilimanis sounds like he is going to the eastern conference.

So….Pobezal still first option although everyday that goes by I find it more unlikely that he comes.

Martin Misiak would have to be the next target? As a Blackhawks fan I’d love to see him here.
I wouldn't rule out Sale from Barrie.

2005 player. That probably means we would have to tie up conditions on him returning next year as it looks like he can go AHL. We don’t have the picks to tie them up on conditions. Unless Sale wants out and Kitchener is the only place he will go I see the asking price too much for him. I heard the rumour a week or two ago but I just can’t see us getting Sale and then 2 or 3 more players. If we get Sale it’s probably 1 more player. I’d rather a 2004 import at a cheaper cost and then options still to add 2 or 3 more players.

if he got outbid maybe they go for Purdeller. Seems like the cheapest import.

If he can be a solid shut down 3rd liner I like that. He has ok 3rd line points. Would cost a 3rd and 5th ballpark. Just don’t know his still of play enough to comment if that’s a good addition.

Not a lot of options when it comes to adding an import player to our backend if we wanted to fill a hole there, that way. Might have to look at adding a North American back there and using that import spot upfront on a player like Sandis Vilmanis (although Jives posted that it looks like he'll be going to the Eastern conference so we may have to look elsewhere if we don't get Pobezal to come over this year).

So Saginaw makes room for Bloom by getting rid of a 6th and 9th. Great !! lol.

So let me get this straight. The team that just held us to 13 shots last night without Sapovaliv and Dionicio are adding Beck and Bloom and our fan base wants us to trade away assets to go for it this year.

I can't be the only one that thinks this is insanity.

I will admit there’s 4 big reasons our fan base is foaming at the mouth this year.
1: I think Rehkopf is the most impactful player in the league and Mesar is likely in the Top 10,
2: Parsons play, we're in ever game. ( he may be the best in the league)
3: We have the best Coach in the league
4: It feels like forever since we've been in the dance

2023-2024 will be known as the season of smoke and mirrors.

Let it be known though, "going for it" is not the same as "going all in". If MM went all in, we would see our 1st's being dealt with whatever we have left in picks. Adding on the cheap to an already winning team is still possible. Last night didn't leave me feeling like Saginaw would run away with the league, quite the opposite. Trades are fun and exciting, but it still has to translate to wins after the fact. I have no doubt that after the trade deadline, Jussi will have some weird Finnish bonding expedition for the team that involves killing wolves for fur and surviving the wilderness. This team has won and lost together, which is more than I can say about last year.

Yes. I guess everyone else in the west should concede the conference to Saginaw because of a couple trades. Let’s not make any deals to improve. Won’t be able to sell off vets for value since everyone else in the west has conceded to Saginaw and are selling as well. Geez!!

There are upsets in the playoffs you know. Windsor last year. Windsor the year they hosted. More than one host across the CHL has gone in the “back door”. I notice in your post that you conveniently left out we were without arguably three of our best forwards last night. I guess they wouldn’t have made a difference.

That may just be a taste of the insanity to come. With the assumed NB-Sarnia trades, it looks like the East is just warming up. Six teams 4 points apart for the top in that conference alone. Will this year's silly season possibly be more insane than last year when MM got caught up in all the fun? Stay tuned. This year's limited number of "seller-dwellers" could potentially come out the other end with a boatload(s) :) .......if only we lived up to our pre-season prediction ;) .

Feels like if MM makes a trade it will be after they’re home from the northern trip.

Vilimanis and Lebanc twins heading to NB. Really curious to see the cost as this would have been a great fit for us.
I thought NB was for sure sellers. Nelson and the goalie would have got a heavy return.

Ha
A man can dream. Can’t be outbid on a free player😉

Have you heard anything about this being a possibility? Or just throwing out a name? No don’t he would be a great addition but why do you keep bringing him up? Why not cutter?

You know, we don’t have many assets to move and would love to have someone like this drop in our lap. But unless there actual proof or indication it’s a possibility, I’d just as soon not keep reading about it on here.

I hope I don’t sound grumpy, but it’s a little torturous. Sort of like being told at the high school dance that the girl of your dreams wants to dance with you, only to find out she wants nothing to do with you.

Lol!!

I looked at him and didn’t like his numbers. Was he a factor on that team’s run last year? Not sure. But if he’s “just a guy”, I’d just as soon move on. Zhugin might be the better option.
