Pretty sure Petrovsky is best friends with Mesar. If OS does consider a sell and Petrovsky has a no trade maybe Kitchener is on his short list.
He’s a center. So are Rehkopf and Sop. Who’s moving to the wing? Or with another forward addition, three lines?

Got to be 3 lines deep come playoffs if we want to win. Add him and 1 more and that competes the top 3 lines….imo.

Pinelli watch - he was again a healthy scratch. Just information…that’s all.
doesnt matter, kitchener no longer has his rights.

But as a FA, does he call his shot?

A Pinelli or any OA like him won’t help us get to three lines when we have to move out two OA’s.

Possibly adding Petrovsky gets us here:

Swick. Rehkopf. Miseljevic.
Martin. Petrovsky. Mesar.
Ellinas. Sop. Lam

Is that a good enough third line? I think that reduces Sop’s offensive contribution. We’d have to add a D to replace the OA we’d have to move off the D.

he would have to go back through waivers to come back into the league. otherwise, you can just release a guy but still in theory have him. it negates the purpose of having rights if you can do a side deal.

Likely a rule change then that came about after the Tsimikslis thing a few years ago?

could be. i just know that you cant release a player and then sign him back without him going through waivers. it makes sense, otherwise reserve lists are useless.

and to be honest, if there was even a hint of him coming back
1. mackenizie would have traded motew
2. someone else would have claimed him
3. mackenzie would have traded him like sarnia did with dell bell baluz.

I think the next two and a half weeks will determine which way MM will go in regards to buying/selling. The Rangers have 11 games over that stretch which is quite a lot of hockey with a couple of three in three’s in there as well. This will really show if we have the depth needed to continue as is or we if we should add or do a soft sell.
........and the teams we expected to be good are finally getting better.

Really good team but not a great team. I’d say buy if we had anything to buy with. But I wouldn’t be upset with a sell to load up picks going forward with this really good crop of good young players that have come in this year

Yea they’re gone. Realistically you’re looking at only being able to move 2027 3rd and 2028 2nd and 3rd. I’m still on the sell train.
Cannot move ‘28 picks this year.

So if we refuse to move any high ‘24 picks, which I hope we do, we have a 3rd and three 4ths to move.

wouldnt plan on those sudbury picks either.
Actually, I believe there is a way these conditional picks from Sudbury can be utilized.

Unless someone can correct me, should we do a deal with Sudbury, the conditions can be taken off those pick(s).

Example:
To Sudbury:
Player

To Kitchener:
Conditions removed from the picks.

Then, the picks are available to be utilized like any other pick.

This was discussed on here some time ago.

The only way I'm selling is if you can tell me Romano is going to turn into Rehkopf and Reid is going to turn into Brzustewicz. Otherwise - no!

I might be wrong but because we received a compensation first round pick I don't think it can change. Part of the deal is only draft picks can be part of the deal.

The deal did only include picks.
The deal is over and done.

Precedent may have been set in the Bracco / Brown deals. One of the 2nds Windsor sent us held conditions. Those conditions were waived as part of the Logan Brown deal.

So conditions on picks from one deal can be waived as part of another deal.

The only real method the OHL can use to stop 2 part trades is not allow the exact picks to be sent back to the team they were acquired from.
