Just saw a Drouin quote I had missed, stating that his wrist will never be the same and he will need to adjust his game.

Meanwhile the Habs trade a high first round pick for Kirby Dach with wrist injury history. Makes me wonder how confident they are that Dach is over his troubles and at close to 100%…

The Habs organization’s pro scouts somehow missed Alzner’s horrific post-injury problems…
Just because they both have had wrist injuries does not mean they will recuperate exactly the same way. With this logic, as soon as a guy has a concussion then he is toast because some guys do not recuperate.

Concussions are less predictable, as we've seen

Wrist injuries are mechanical/physical AND Dach had a devil of a season last year following his surgery.

Give me a break. KK has not improved at all since his rookie year. This career high rate he supposedly produced at last year was nearly identical to his rookie season. He averaged 1 less minute ATOI and he played on a far superior team. The only thing he improved on last year was his shooting % jumped from 8 to 14%
Aside from that and his slight improvement in the faceoff circle, he was the same player in Carolina as he was in Montreal. You can have your beliefs he will suddenly improve, but let’s not pretend it’s already happened.
What will you say if he puts up 40-45 points next season with expanded role? He'd have done the same in Montreal?

What will I say if he puts up 40-45pts in his 5th season and improves on his rookie season by only 6-11 pts on a vastly superior team with an expanded role? lol you serious?
I'd say he was just as much of a disappointment as he was the day he signed that offer sheet.

Thank you doctor for your expert opinion on this matter. it is time we give this fragile deformed wrist story a rest and let the guy play hockey.

Why do you comment when you obviously don't watch the Hurricanes. Who gives a damn if they are a superior team. It is completely IRRELEVANT since he was playing with worthless plugs in the 4th line. When Aho was out and he played on the 1st line (for a short time) he was on a point per game clip.

SO: why was he put on a 4th line the rest of the time if he was so good ?

Try reading the post you commented on. I was asked what I would say if KK scores 40-45pts next season in a larger role.
The only reason I started discussing KK in the first place is to clarify this misconception that he apparently took some sort of step forward in his game last year, or that it's the Habs fault that he is a bust.
I am done talking about KK, You can make excuses for him all you want. When he does something worth discussing, feel free to tell me that I was wrong about him and I will happily eat crow then.
This is the Dach thread, and I have taken it off course enough as it is.

Why are so butthurt? It's known that ankles/wrists/knees surgeries are really tough to come back from as you rarely go back to 100%..

Take off your Habs tinted glasses and look at it objectively, there is cause for concern and just saying we need to give it a rest and move on does not change that.

You don’t need to be a doctor to follow hockey and know which injuries generally lead to what outcomes.

Back injuries cut careers short, ligament tears are long term but the player returns, anything ankle is bad, hernia’s are chronic, wrist injuries and bicep tears are bad, concussions are varied, broken fingers and toes are not bad…

Until he plays we won’t know what he’ll look like but it sure as hell isn’t a slam dunk that he will suddenly thrive
