Doubt it...that Kaako contract pretty much is what Dach's bridge deal is going to look like.
If they really believe they can get him back on the right path they should give him a long-term deal.

That contract would be a bargain if he ends up hitting his potential in a couple of seasons.

But Dach will probably push for a bridge deal.

Will be interesting to see who he plays with. I'd give him Caufield and Dadonov to try to get him going (it's a development year).

I give Suzuki Drouin and Hoffman, to try to get those two going, and shipped out of town.
I want Dach to learn to battle along the boards. I want him to have Gallagher as a RW, but I like the Dadanov idea!

I ain't splitting Suzuki and Caufield unless they are struggling.

I know everyone like suzuki and caufield together but i don't think they always have to play together, there's always some ''down'' times where a line produce less in a season, marty already said he likes the switch things up sometimes. I think they could try Caufield and Dach together at some point their game should be a great fit!

You keep a duo that works.

Maybe at some point Dach and Caufield will play together.

But that should not be the plan to start.

We have a few good forwards: Caufield, Pitlick, and hopefully Dadonov and Skafkovsky.

Hopefully Dach gets to play with at least one of them and a character guy like a Gallagher.

And hopefully Gally can get back to his old self. But I'm only so hopeful of that at this point.

You guys should check out on the interview Dach gave on the John Scott podcast. Really seem like a cool humble kid(I didn't even know he sometime dropped the glove too, makes me like him even more lol). John Scott is really good at this. I've seen him interview a couple of guys and he's engaging, he knows as a player how to explore the interesting sides of situations not always the cliche stuff that journalists ask.

link?

If only the Habs had cap room to even begin formulating an offer. :sarcasm:

Whatever gets Dach going, all for it. He’s either making a statement to grab that 2nd line C spot or he’ll be fed to the Peg in a package for Dubois.
They can make an offer and go temporarily over the cap by 10%.

One of his linemates should be someone who can win a faceoff, if he is still struggling.

Also, a lack of a signed contract may be a strategy for other traded. Who knows what is in Hughes’ mind.

I personally wouldn't feel comfortable going long term at this point...need more information on him before that happens imo.

I am curious to get to know this kid. I think there will be growing pains, but hopefully he has the right attitude and our staff can help him grow!
He like Kotkaniemi were a stretch at 3rd overall.
I hope under MSL he develops into a good player.

That’s not at all reassuring. He’s gotta be a lot better than KK, just on account of development time lost to injury, which is now behind him.

Since he’s so weak at faceoffs, I hope he’s attending to that facet of his game this summer, if he’s serious about staying a C, which he claims is the only position he’ll play.

That was previous seasons with a bad wrist, give him a chance to see if he has improved this aspect of the game.
