He only had the one calendar year under Houle before being traded to ST.L but it was one of his most productive years.

People forget that he only played one full season as a Hab. Savard traded for him at the deadline and he played the next season during the Roy fiasco and the Savard firing before being traded to St.Louis by Houle 10 games into the next season.
For Murray Barron nonetheless, nice one Houle

I enjoyed watching him play that year. I never understood that trade we got an old Shane Corson in return for Turgeon.

I am cautiously optimistic about what MSL can do with Kirby Dach.

monumental fail. Who does this?
Houle also offered St Louis the choice of picking one of the Habs young D between Rory Fitzpatrick, David Wilkie and Craig Rivet.
Houle as usual got fleeced.

Rivet got us Suzuki at the end?
...sad thing is, I'd be willing to bet at least a third of HF posters would have to google Esposito...we're old...
In 2000 Ray Bourque had the 77 jersey with the Avs.

It was Turgeon, youngsters Craig Conroy (had a nice career after the trade!) and Rory Fitzpatrick (a decent prospect at the time) for past his prime former Hab Shane Corson and Murray Barron. A horrible trade for the Habs.

Houle didn't know players around the NHL so two of his biggest trades were for former Habs. Habs also traded Odelein in his prime for a well past his prime Stephane Richer.

The other awful thing with Houle is he often included a prospect in every trade just to sweeten it or close the deal. The problem with that was he was drafting awful players like Matt Higgins in the 1st round so he wasn't replacing these prospects. It was a very era.

For the oldtimers on this board.

Dach reminds me of a faster Jean Ratelle who was a poor man's Jean Beliveau. It must be the way he holds his stick when he is stickhandling.

Then again maybe I'm scraping the bottom of the wishing well.
I'll be ecstatic if Dach turns into Ratelle. Ratelle was great, he was more like a middle income guy's Beliveau ;-)

Didn’t see this posted (sry if it was). Pretty funny to hear Scott talk about how much he likes the habs…

(edit just saw it was posted…)

Can't wait to see him under MSL...

I really think that MSL will help Dach and become a another great C like Jeff Gorton did with Rangers, acquire Zibanejad and Strome... both become great C with Rangers.

Would be nice; his face off % is scary bad, that would be a big factor one would think. Hopefully a result of the wrist delaying him getting good and he’s ok now.

edit - every pic of him on nhl.com he has his cap backwards which makes no sense. Find a haircut you can own, or wear it proper, it’s not a neck shade.

They will. Plus dvorak is very good on faceoffs maybe he can help him with it.
