rarely see such unanimous praise for a player on here. That's reassuring. Preseason means so little all in all but it's still encouraging. If he pans out we'll be in terrific shape going forward. Just gotta find a bonafide #1D and we could be off to the races. We have lots of nice pieces. I might actually watch this year.

Dach and Money on the same line please they can alternate on the dot also

Plus Monahan is more of a shooter that needs to play with a playmaker (like Gaudreau) to produce. Flames fans didn't like him much because they said all he does is park himself in front of the net or slot and shoot what Gaudreau created for him. Well that sounds like a good fit to play with Dach.

Drouin - Suzuki - Gallagher/Hoffman
Caufield - Dach - Monahan
Pitlick - Dvorak - Dadonov
Anderson - Evans - Armia

Dach and Dvorak and Monahan. Danault is better than those 3. I like Dach age and potential.
It would have been simpler to sign Danault. Today Danault is highly appreciated by his teamates and LA fans. He scored 27 g last year. But Bergevin was stubborn and listened the negative about Danault. He also signed Gallagher that infame contract, the infame Price contract. And he signed Armia way too much money, he signed Hoffman and he didn't get better than Dvorak to replace KK. Pathetic. If Bergevin lost his job that was for a lot of reasons and Danault is surelly one of them. And 80% fans here wanted Danault to leave. LA fans think of this with a smile.
he never scored anywhere close to 27 with us. That was the problem. No offense in his last couple of years yet he wanted to be paid like a producer.

Explain how he did scored 27 last year? He was second line C with new wingers. Still in the + stats.
Is that mean LA Kings management saw something Bergevin didn't see?
Do you underestimate a management who won 2 SC in the last 10 years?

I guess I'm in the minority, but I think MSL has his hands full with Dach. He has all the tools but can't put it together, remind folks of anyone?

I had a good impression of Danault when we got him. Soon he was the center of Radu and Paccio. It was too bad for Galchy and Eller who were waiting for that kind of promotion. But Phil made possible the exit of DD and it was welcome. But let's see the positive of today. Dach will improve and end up being as good as Danault but a different kind of player. Mistakes of the past are in the past. One day Price will be retired, Gally will be traded, Hoffman, Armia, Monahan and Dvorak will be traded. Hughes have some clean-up to do before he have his team in hand.
Thankfully the new group had assets that were valued by other teams to expedite the rebuild..........
2 sides to a coin.

I'm not sure if MSL had Dach under his regime for 5 minutes and you're ready to throw him under the bus.
First point : is Dach did great so far when he was in Chicago?
Second Point : how old is Dach?

Chad Kilger?
Or Turner Stevenson :D

Drouin - Suzuki - Gallagher/Hoffman
Caufield - Dach - Monahan
Pitlick - Dvorak - Dadonov
Anderson - Evans - Armia

My line would be something like this

Dadonov Suzuki Caufield
Lets put Dadonov in a position to make his value goes high

Drouin Dvorak Gallagher

Anderson Dach Monahan or some other nights against better competition on the faceoff Dach Monahan Anderson

Armia/Pitlick/Hoffman/Evans on the fourth

Why the tears? I'll be happy if he proves me wrong, show me.

Man is it possible that chicago fans LIED TO US?!?!?!
Did they lie to us? Or did their team suck last year which resulted in the kid being thrown to the wolves and his confidence evaporated as a result?

You could see the clouds dissipate over Dach's head as he played the game yesterday and he looked a lot more confident as it went on.

He traded passes for goals. He still ended up with same a similar point total versus what he made with MTL. So yeah, nothing to write about here.

I also want to see those first two combos...

I'm skeptical of Anderson with Dach. I feel like Dach could benefit more from a player that can also make plays with him. But maybe Dach is such a line driver that he'll have the puck most of the time and Anderson just needs to get open...

I like Pitlick in the top 9, but I also want Dadonov, Drouin, Monahan, Anderson and Hoffman's values maximized for trade purposes. After our 2nd round this year (Beck, Hutson) I'd like to give this scouting staff more 2nd round picks.

Hopefully Montreal's new coaching staff and management can be a right time right place situation for him

I can imagine Therrien or Julien destroying this kid lol.

But angry fans said he couldn't score goals. He did.
He also have an heavy duty of watching top centers. And he finish the seasons with a +.
Two underestimated players left Mtl last year. Lehkonen and Danault. Both Habs fans said they do everything right except score goals. Danault did score goals and was good in PO. Lehkonen scored the winning goal of SC final game. Lehk scored the goal that eliminated Vegas with a pass from Danault in '21. Lehk was the only player with a + stat last year.

I think Habs fans cannot admit when they are wrong. When it comes to Danault, they are the same as Marc Bergevin.

I like your lines calvaince! It's just that Habs have too much players that would normally be on the top 9 and whatever we try to make lines, there is a player that doesn't belong on the 4th line like Hoffman or Drouin. This is if they are all healthy. But as soon as some players are with the nurses, the 4th line have Pezz or RHP, so the 4th line looks normal.

Explain how?...California food? I don't know. Habs systems for years were defence oriented. He did play first line with the best wingers. If this is the case then Armia is a 30 goals scorer on another team. Too bad we cannot monetize extrapolation.

Danault has done well in LA and it seems to be a good decision for him. Would he have produced the same amount under Ducharme last season? We don’t know for sure but I doubt it.

The other thing to remember is Danault, himself, said he was ready to move on to a new organization for the second half of his career. He was an UFA it was his right to choose to sign with any team that offered him a contract.

Anyways it’s time to move on from Danault (and thankfully from Bergevin) unless you’re a Kings fan of course. Dach is the future, hopefully. I look forward as a Habs fan to see him develop and grow his game under MSL. If he reaches his ceiling it will go a long ways towards the Habs future success.

I remember Teuvo Teravainen being called a guy with no toolbox during is 22 y.o season in Carolina (on their forums). Dach has great tools, give him 2-3 years, there is an offensive center there.

Lehkonen scored a career high of 19 goals last season. Never scored 20.

He did score 8 in 20 games in the playoffs, but like you said, we already knew he was a playoff performer. (Look up Fernando Pisani.)

No one ever said Lehkonen was a bad player or useless, but the fact is he’s not a great scorer. Not very good at it even. We traded him from a position of strength knowing full well we’re not winning anything during his prime anyway, and that trade gave us a very promising young D that we need for our future AND a 2nd round pick.

Pretty bad example to pick.

Fans weren't wrong. Lehkonen and Danault couldn't score on a soccer net in their last few seasons with the Habs. The question is who is to blame. Since Lehkonen was much better offensively after Ducharme was canned I tend to believe a string of worthless incompetent coaches are mostly to blame.

Right. We need players to kill penalties. Evans, Armia or kids like Heineman or RHP have to be in that line up.

Monahan with all his injuries won't be better than a healthy Hoffman. And Drouin is still a huge enigma.

Acquiring Monahan was for me a huge mistake.
