Hate to compare but this guy is a tier above KK
To early to say. From what I saw yesterday I disagree. Dach can use his big body and he skate faster than KK.
They are different players. I'm curious about your avatar. It's picture that says something, when that young goalie wasn't very serious in his first years, party, smoking, etc. He did changed but his early years have tons of pictures still avalaible.

I do think they want to have Monahan-Dach-Anderson

Monahan can take some face-off to help Dach and he's known as a finisher. Anderson could be the F1 and he would make them space. Just don't think he's the finisher Dach need
I kinda like the idea of:

Dadanov - Suz - Slaf
Caufield - Dach - Anderson

Price is one of my favourite players of all time (I’m part of the new generation of fans). Yeah I just found the picture a funny contrast to his normal ultra serious demeanour.

I thought he looked good last night, really supported his Dmen well and his skill/speed combo while skating through the neutral zone is impressive. He makes Dmen back up and I can imagine that being a very intimidating combination with Josh Anderson on his wing.

Noticed the same thing as you. He could still use some refining defensively, but he always came down low to support. Never cheated on the backcheck. There are a lot of positives.

He's very imposing when carrying the puck from his own end into the offensive zone. He attacks with a lot of speed.

You can see why teams were high on him. So many great tools.

And that will improve with experience, there is clearly something to do with Dach if we develop him well

When I was your age, Ken Dryden was my favorite goalie. He was serious from day one. He was an intellectual and he was humble. No "attitude" bs or anything like that with Ken. A real example for kids and adults. Look what he became today. And he learned french and still speak it today. I guess he ablas a poquito of spanish too.

I like the funny contrast. It prove people can change for better (and sometimes for worst). People and things evolve. It proves there is shades of grey. Ok, too much philosophy now, let's get back to hockey talk, lol.

I would't mind Hoffman with Dach since he finish Dach play but it will take someone like Pitlick/Anderson with them who will make the dirty job
Dach with Anderson and Gallagher seems like it could work.

Kirby wants to carry the puck and hold on to it. Anderson just wants to skate down the wing, and Gallagher wants to just be a pest. I think it could work and complement Dach's skills.

Suzuki and Caufield were PPG players down the stretch together with MSL and you want to split them to put Caufield with Dach after one preseason game where Dach did...

*check notes"

took two minor penalties
turned the puck over in the D zone several times
had a couple of nice rushes
Had one big hit

Can we not break up the one thing that worked last year yet?

Thanks.

The possible trio lines are getting interresting. If MSL find the best combination, there could be 3 good lines. I say good but not enough to make the PO. Hab will lose most of the games but they will be challenging 80% of the games.

If there is a line with slow skaters, Anderson is a solution. If Monahan is on one line, Anderson might be a solution.
So I see Monahan-Dach-Anderson as second line. Monahan can help on FO.
And Hoffman-Dvorak-Gallagher third line

So Dadonov is on first line with Su and CC if Slaf is not on first line. I don't know where Dadonov will be to be honest.

Gomez was a really good player though before his 2nd year with the Habs where he hit a wall. If Dach can become a 6'4 Scott Gomez, I would be really happy with that

I don't know about really good. But yes, the main problem with Gomez before he declined is that he wasn't worth his cap hit. So if Dach becomes a 6'4 Gomez with a reasonable cap hit that would be good.

The point is, I remember David Schlemko gliding through the neutral zone with ease in preseason, making the opposition look like pylons. But that one skill didn't make him a good player.

I mean his playmaking was pretty high end.. he basically set up the tying goal but I think it was Pitlick who couldn't cradle the heat on the cross-seam pass.

It's early so I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it.. they will need him to attack the middle of the ice a bit more in the offensive zone, draw people in and push the puck outward.. instead of going wide and moving the puck inward.

I don't think the constructed line last night had a chance of working with no real trigger man on the line.

Dach could be another good center they traded us. Danault the first
Dach and Dvorak and Monahan. Danault is better than those 3. I like Dach age and potential.
It would have been simpler to sign Danault. Today Danault is highly appreciated by his teamates and LA fans. He scored 27 g last year. But Bergevin was stubborn and listened the negative about Danault. He also signed Gallagher that infame contract, the infame Price contract. And he signed Armia way too much money, he signed Hoffman and he didn't get better than Dvorak to replace KK. Pathetic. If Bergevin lost his job that was for a lot of reasons and Danault is surelly one of them. And 80% fans here wanted Danault to leave. LA fans think of this with a smile.

not sure I want to separate Suzuki-Caufield

Honestly I would. This year could be a great way to evaluate what we have with Caufield. Is he a future 1st line goal scorer or is he more? If Caufield manages to make drive the offence on his line and make his linemates better, you give him the franchise winger 8 years deal

Also, for the sake of future lines composition, spreading your offence is necessary on good teams

He was a lot more physically imposing than advertised. The reports from Chicago fans basically made him seem like a softer Kotkaniemi. He didn't shy away from contact and made an impression.

danault ended up being better then those three..... He was not when we acquired him, and surely was not at dach's age.

So we win the trade right
hahah well rds said romanov had a good game, and he was minus 2 lol ...but hey its rds

Better than minus 4

I had a good impression of Danault when we got him. Soon he was the center of Radu and Paccio. It was too bad for Galchy and Eller who were waiting for that kind of promotion. But Phil made possible the exit of DD and it was welcome. But let's see the positive of today. Dach will improve and end up being as good as Danault but a different kind of player. Mistakes of the past are in the past. One day Price will be retired, Gally will be traded, Hoffman, Armia, Monahan and Dvorak will be traded. Hughes have some clean-up to do before he have his team in hand.

Yeah they need a trigger man. I think Pitlick can be the digger/use his speed to get to loose pucks. I think Anderson is penciled in to be on the other wing as if now...

I think if Drouin can hang with Dvo defensively, we could have a playmaker on each line (Suzuki, Drouin, Dach). But maybe Drouin steals Pitlick's spot next to Dach.
