Ok don’t, lol.

You just admitted you don’t like him as a player so of course you wouldn’t think he was.

But, he was.
He had 9 points in 12 games. I think you use incredible a bit too loosely. That’s pretty good, but incredible, far from it.

Dach was regularly creating havoc in the offensive zone until he got hurt, and even put up 2 goals on the Bruins, the best team in all of hockey history. When you think about it, Dach put up over a PPG in his last 12 games before injury

Is this hard to lookup? It was 9 pts in 12, but 11 points in last 13 games.

Yes he was creating havoc but I guess we are so used to low production from all our guys that we some of us would use the term 'incredible' (i.e. hard to believe). It actually makes some sense, but just because his stat line was hard to believe, it's not elite by NHL standards. Overall he is showing a 2nd line projection, IMO.

He can be safely penciled in as a 2C and has upside for more. I think it’s safe to show enthusiasm for this promising development. Incredible… I dunno I probably would refrain from superlatives but it is certainly encouraging.

He's made every player on the team better when they were on his line.

There's a very good chance this guy is a 1st liner, obviously he doesn't stack up against the MacKinnons of the world but if we got him one elite player on his wing, you could definitely win with him at 1C if he continues to develop and grow.

I hope you realize a player can be incredible and put up only good numbers not incredible ones.

We have a case in point with Kidney in juniors. He was playing great and put up great numbers. Gets traded plays the same way but is putting up insane numbers. When a good player is teamed with good players his stats usually improve. That's what I think was affecting Dach's stats. Because the team lacks talent he had weak linemates.

I am split between two suspicions about what's going on:

1. They are telling guys to take extra time to help the tank and don't want to disclose too much for plausible denial

2. it has to do with the criticism that the Montreal medical team was facing before about rushing guys giving them the green light to play before they were fully recovered - now they are being extra cautious and maybe they are consulting with two team?

S'ok
It's always the same usual suspects lol
The ol misery brigade

Throwing cold water on our biggest success story for completely arbitrary reasons and then calling everyone else homers for saying Dach had an incredible year is strange to me.

lol "misery brigades"

Since 1993 the "everybody is a star" who is .75 from ppg, ain't a great standard for top-end performance.

Dach dont have a PPG season, but he have played like a PPG guy this year. Very very solid year so far by him... When Habs are going to be ready to compete... Dach will produce even more.

No, no, he didn't ...doesn't mean he had a bad season, but he's at least 1 standard of deviation away from being a PPG player.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Someone comes in and just gets all cranky and emo about Dach for no reason and then people saying he was actually good this year are now apparently insane irrational homers as if they all said he's McDavid or something.

It's just not a good faith discussion at all. The whole point of it is to just whine about a player and provoke a reaction to call others a homer for not being cranky about a big success from this year. A fan said "incredible" instead of "very good", stop the presses, we need to tell this person that they used the wrong adjective!!!!!

I'm in good faith, assuming otherwise is just throwing shade at someone you don't know. Not calling anyone homers, if you critically look at Dach's season, it's an encouraging story of continuous improvement but he's still not a first-line center. I'm more confident it's coming than at the beginning of the season, but I'm not fully confident either because he's had swings before.

I disagree with your evaluation, and I'm sure many others do because it's a "rosy" evaluation. Nothing more, nothing less.

I never offered an evaluation other than calling him our biggest success story of the year, and I fully agree he's not proven he's a 1C yet.

I just find this constant hedging and triangulating to avoid being a homer really tiring. He had an unequivocally good season but one guy said "incredible" so now we've gotta poke holes in his game for some reason when everyone already agrees he hasn't proven he's a 1st liner/star yet.
