They also traded a 20 year old Adam Boqvist.

I think y'all are trying way, way, way to hard too try to create a narrative that is just dumb.

Hagel 23
Kubaik 26
DeBrincat 23
Dylan Strome 23
Dach 20
Boqvist 20

The Hawks were dumping talent
Boqvist was traded in 2021 for Seth Jones he doesnt have anything to do in your list. If anything trading for Jones was a win now move not a firesale.

I'm not sure I understand why it'd be better for Dach to miss the entire season as opposed to playing most of it and having a lot of the recovery happen in the off-season if he got injured in March.

This is looking like a worst case scenario for us.
He obviously wouldn't be ready for next year if it happened March 2024
Don't be thick

I am not following the logic
I can't help you read a calendar bud lol

My logic would be if he had a major breakout season and got hurt late in the year I think that would not be a bad thing. Yes he would possibly miss the beginning of the next season but half his recovery would be over the summer.

So for the goobers saying Chicago traded Dach because of his injury issues - on what planet are doctors able to determine likeliness of a torn mcl on the basis of a slash that breaks a wrist?
He had less value to Chicago and arround the league because of his past injuries. You really think Chicago would have traded a productive injuries free Dach or Mtl would be able to pay the price to get him? Dach had wrist problem who affected his shot and production.

What makes you think he would’ve been productive and what’s the relation between his past injuries and the current one?

It's pretty lame that people are using this freak injury to argue that Hughes lost the Romanov trade.

The injury saps my enthusiasm for the Habs, and the inane hot takes sap my enthusiasm for the forum.
Never said that. Never said Hughes lost the trade. I'm saying that the guy clearly is injury prone. The same way we laughed at Benoit Brunet for being always injured...strangely we seem to want to close our eyes to what Dach could potentially be.

And yet acquired Seth Jones in the trade for Boqvist ON TOP of sending 1st rounders for Jones. How were they dumping talent by acquiring Jones? Call it a stupid trade. But a talent dump?

Again, I didn't say FOR CERTAIN that this is what it was. But aside from talent, who dumps a 20 year old 6'4'' C for dumping? What's the precedent?

So you think injuries dont affect production especially wrist injury and you think he struggled in Chicago for no reason? I saw some Hawks games and 2020-2021 Kirby Dach was a beast injurie slowed him down and we would not be able to trade for him without that.

Feel bad for Dach, hope he has a quick and full recovery from that unfortunate result of a hit.

Hard to stomach this one as a Habs fan after all the injuries the last couple years to key players in the rebuild. Was hoping to see the young players together growing their game this year and Dach is a big part of that.

No matter what you say, next year, the second Dach just goes in the dressing room because he has to take a shit, you'll ALL be thinking here we go again NO MATTER if right now you say we shouldn't start thinking he's injury prone.....It might never happen again. But it will take a heck of a time before we stop thinking it.

Yeah... no it's not.
Brunet typical season was to play 2 games, miss 5, come back play 2-3 games, miss 4 and so on.

Dach is much closer to Koivu, who had absolute shit luck with his health for awhile then thing went back to normal.

He was primed for a breakout year. He and CC were our best forwards in the pre-season and he started off strong. Super sucks that he’s hurt.

Chicago got rid of everyone on skates trying to tank for Bedard. It wasn’t cause they feared he was glass.
Period.

How was Dach who was struggling with the Hawks a possible problem to get Bedard? DeBrincat? Sure. But Dach?

You can’t predict injuries. Dach was improving and last week people here were posting that he was going to be our number one center by year’s end. Nobody had a problem with that trade. It’s just bad luck.

We love the ON PACE here...well right now, Dach is at 42 games per year played. Brunet with the Habs was at 49. I guess time will tell.

Never had a problem with the trade either. Still doesn't have. My ONLY f***ing comment was that it was possible that Hawks knew something we didn't.

Strange how that works....when amateurs have opinions, we keep being reminded how pros know best. When my comment was that it was possible that Hawks knew best, since it goes against the narrative, SUDDENLY it CERTAINLY not true.....WE know best. WE KNOW for CERTAIN that he's not injury prone...lol

Are you somehow under the impression that the Canadiens would not run a physical and evaluate Dach's complete health before acquiring him?

Your comment doesn't really hold up. Of course pros tend to know best. The Habs are also pros. Just like the Hawks. It's not a situation where there's a power/expertise imbalance between both clubs.

Didn't we just fired some people in that department and JUST hired new ones? Why is that if the old guard was doing the job?

Some players put themselves in vulnerable positions to get injured.

I haven't noticed it with Dach. Though he does have a lanky frame.

I did notice it with Latendresse early on.

Now I'm worried about Slaf, Heineman, Evan's, and Guhle. Time will tell...

They didn’t know shit.

The Hawks knew he had wrist problems and they f***ed up his development by playing him when they shouldn’t have.

There is NO WAY to predict this kind of injury.

So we're going from Pros known best, to pros know nothing. Great to see this board is evolving. And I guess we've established that a player being injury prone does not exist too. That's some major changes in people's mentality. Great to see.

Again, can't wait to see people's reactions next year when he limps, stops a shot and so on. I'm SURE nobody in here will stop breathing...
