Well. Guess rebuild continues. Not like Dach would have greatly changed Habs fortunes but Habs are now so much smaller up front once again. Anderson is literally the only forward that can extract any kind of physical play. And who knows how long he will last.

Best Case scenario, habs get a higher draft pick, another young player comes in and fills the void, he comes back invincible, hes back by next training camp ready to roll

Think bigger

Best case scenario is a global virus takes over the world just as we are about to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, giving Dach 4 extra months to get healthy and he carries us to a cup win as a 12 seed

Just accept that we traded premium assets for an injury prone guy who ended up getting us 40 points in 60 games spanning 2 full seasons

A redundant Dman is premium?
I'll go with. just accept the story isn't over just 1 season n a couple games post trade. But that's just me.
We can all get a better feel for if it was worth dealing from a position of strength to try and address a need 5 years posy trade.

He took one harmless looking hit, did not brace himself for it at all, and ended up on season ending IR

Either it is Dach's fault or the medical staff for letting him play on a wonky leg

There's a reason Dach was moved on from in Chicago
Have you ever followed any sport at all? ACL does not need somebody to come in at full force to tear it, sometime you don't even need heavy contact to tear it, that's why sometime people are dumbfounded when it happen as it rarely look violent. How on earth can you judge that play by claiming it would only happen to him?

I don't see this injury to Dach as all negative. Newhook will get chance at full time center he never would have got. RHP will get chance at top 6 minutes. Canadiens have extra caproom to add an asset because of this. Dvorak will be back soon nobody will have to sit when he returns. Evans been playing well.

The last thing I want to hear right now is how this helps the tank.

Our 22 year old top-6 center is missing another full year of development and people are already looking forward to losing more games because of it

bruh it is the worst case scenario, I'd rather lose Suzuki because at least we know what we have with him

Who cares about RHP, Dvorak or Evans?

Dach’s development is now on hold for a year. More important than any of the plugs.

Man, of all the ways to trim the roster. This is my least favorite. 😢

Of all the players on our team that we might have lost for the season I'd be hard pressed to find a more worse case scenario.

Sure losing Caufield or Slaf like this would be awful, but I feel losing Dach has more damaging repercussions for the team an organization as a whole. His continuing progression was vital for both he and his linemates and team in general.

I'm sad :(
Hence why it was so tough falling out of the top 4 picks this year who were all Cs. Losing Dach highlights once again how short we are at the position in terms of high upside Cs. There has to be a way to land someone solid who doesn’t have a significant injury record.

There was the past 2 summers but you can't talk about him because he's in LA now and it upsets too many people

As it was for Markov, Koivu, Chellios ...They were all Injury prone, until they weren't injury prone anymore.
It proves that the concept doesn't stand
Idk how many other guys before Dach tore their ACL and MCL at a young age. But I hope his rehab is rock solid.

There's guys like Ben Patrick (kneesovertoes) absolutely wreck his knees with multiple surgeries, and now he's poster boy for knee health. Totally revamped his body, he's an athletic beast

Hertl tore his ACL and MCL 2 or 3 years ago. He also tore his MCL in his other knee previously.

He had surgery for the ACL + MCL tear in Feb and was skating by August and game-ready by November.
