Dach worked like a dog again last night.

It’s insane the amount of hustle he has and how many battles for the puck he can win.

They should keep Monahan on his wing, his ability to win battles and keep the puck going will only take pressure of Dach. He can also win some faceoffs to keep possession.

I want to see Monahan-Dach-Slafkovsky line.

Agreed. Slaf looked best last season when playing with Monahan.

Money & Dach both think the game well, cover a lot of ice and have very good vision. Lots of pucks would find their way onto Slaf's stick, for better or worse, and that's a good thing.

Dach is the perfect center for Slaf. He slows the game down by using time and space for him. Mucj better fit than Newhook and Anderson who happens to make the gsme quicker.

Stick with Dach and Slaf as a duo. They will become beast together.

I still don't understand this trade from the Hawks point of view. He's not as young as Bedard but he fits their rebuild. He's not the kind of prospect your simply throw away this early.

I don't get it.

I don't think anyone gets it.

People excuse it by "they got Bedard who cares" but the truth is they may never find a centerman with Dach size and skill for the entire Bedard tenure, and they may also gotten Bedard even with Dach.

They totally undersold him but who cares. They traded what should be an untouchable asset for a f***ing mid 1st.

Its our win now and he is our upcoming 1C

He does work hard, he doesn’t quit on plays. He’s our bright spot this camp I feel like.

Him coming out of his shell soothes the pain of the long road ahead a bit. Let’s see how he’s surrounded looking forward.

I can’t for the life of me understand the logic behind them getting rid of Dach. The stars aligned and they got Bedard by winning the lottery with the third best odds, but it was such a weird move to give up on a young center like that during a rebuild. It’s not like Dach was far enough along to have a major impact on their position in the standings.

Terrible asset management. We still don't know how it will evolve and Davidson still seems like he is doing something good there but that may bite them in the ass for a long time.

I love how he welcomes contact. He's a strong young man and only going to get stronger.

I'm a big fan of a Monahan/Dach/Slaf line too. I see potential with that line and we should stick with it for more than 5 games.

Going to get even stronger as he becomes a man and enters his prime. And I like to believe his NHL shot improves as well.... as each season passes.

The take that they got bedard is the equivalent of putting an able on an arrow. Does dach take them from 3rd to 5th? If so was that trade worth improving odds by 2-4%? Probably not but they'll claim it was all part of the plan

I don't know how their future will unfold.

But its doubtful they are able to acquire a center like Dach for the entire Bedard tenure.

There are none available next draft as a starter and these player never makes it through FA or very rarely.

It might just be a trade that will follow them and actually amputate their line-up during Bedard prime.

Not sure Seider was low for the time, I think I had him the 2nd highest of everyone on this board, just DGE had him like 5th. At least of the people that put out lists.
So far I was wrong about Hughes, Kakko, Dorothy. Probably wrong about Newhook. As he looks really good so far. Nah I was flat out wrong. Even if he doesn’t pan out the upside is there. I didn’t see it.

Right about Caufield and Seider. That’s it lol. Not flexing here at all. The rest I didn’t have an opinion on as far as I can remember.

I think that was low-ish on Seider. He had to be the biggest riser. He garnered a lot of attention quite quickly

What a great sequence by Monahan on that one. The poise, slows down the play just enough before passing it to Kovacevic at the point.
Lang 2.0. I hope he can stay healthy and I hope we keep him. I think he’s worth the gamble. Especially if he can stay relatively cheap.

Yeah it’s not like rhp has been bad there but I think he’s the weak-ish link. At least from what I’ve seen.

I wish Monahan could be on all our top 3 lines

I disagree on Seider again, I think you're having a bit of recency bias. He looked good at the WJC D1 and the WC but he was seen as a reach at 6 as Bob had him 10 spots later. He was kinda like Reinbacher where not a lot of people knew about him and a lot questionned his offensive upside.

I mean sure he's low as of today, can't have everything, but on draft day one could argue I overranked him, which is a generally good thing.

Don't think you're wrong on Dorofeyev, he's looking like he will be a heck of a player and Vegas fans are thrilled.

They wanted to tank. They even kept Reichel down because he was doing too good for them.

They had a vision and it paid off. Would've paid off too if they got Carlsson and Fantilli and even Michkov. They were not wrong. I guess limiting Dach's ice-time could also have worked though.

There's something to be said about priming your assets though. Going into a rebuild in 2022 with a 2019 draftee is good, but in two years when players start arriving he would be 25, a lot can change in that time frame. There's also something to be said about Dach being the perfect complement to Bedard, lol. He brings the size and speed that Bedard just doesn't have and he also can play on his wing as an ace playmaker.

He has an underrated mean streak. He's slowly developing that star swagger. I really hope it all comes together.

Last night he showed (along with Suzuki) how good players can win you games even when the team plays so-so
and we've been lacking that forever. The team would have to work like dogs to get wins and/or Price/Halak/Theodore etc. bailing them out.
