No Caufield is not a game breaking player in this league all though he will be a really good goal scorer

Just not at the same level
Caufield has 50+ goal potential. At any given time he can find the back of the net from almost anywhere. That's not a game breaker? He is not a really good goal scorer, he is an ELITE goal scorer. No, he doesn't control the flow of the game, but Kirby Dach absolutely can be that type of #1 centre.

Of course Dach isn't at the same level of Getzlaf right now, but he absolutely has that type of ceiling. Watching him play right now and develop confidence it truly feels like the sky is the limit for Dach.

100% agree with your statement. Sometimes yeah Habs fan and me need to be realistic and don't have big hope. But Caufield and Dach are both ELITE talent and can easily becomes game breaking players. They have both PPG potential and they can do that this year and for many years to come. They are good just like that !

He’s not Getzlaf, he was one of the best player of his generation.

He will be a good player though
This would be the year Getzlaf jumped from 58 pts to 82. And that was on a good team with great support and the main offensive focus on his team. I wouldn't be that surprised if Kirby could get to 70+ this year so there's a path there. Getzlaf is imo the most underrated player I've ever watched, absolutely amazing player. It would be a dream if Dach could be that good.

Dach feasting on the 2nd line as well should hopefully let him get ahead on points as well before the league catches on

That’s what I wanted to say by game breaking talent, no one can control the flow of that game

He is incredible. What a beast.

I will say it again but people that excuse this trade from the Blackhawks POV because they got Bedard, its f***ing lunatic.

They sold Dach for a f***ing 13OV pick. . . I just don't know what to say. Terrible asset management. Franchise killing trade.

They may never have the chance to acquire such a center during Bedard tenure. These type of C are rarely available as UFA and you have to be lucky to draft them. They are untouchable in trades.

Well who cares, he is ours now and he will be our 1C.

That 2022 draft will be iconic for our franchise.

It may be that Chicago shopped Dach around the league and the 13th overall pick was the most that anybody was willing to offer.

I was so down on the trade at first because I though Dach was an injury prone headcase. I am so glad to be wrong, he has become my favorite player on the team and by far the player I am most excited to see progress.
I see some similarities to Joe Thornton.

It's so cool that after getting the Suzuki boost last year, Dach is now in a position to be the guy that helps bring other young players along. All while he's still progressing a lot himself.

What an absolute gift to get this guy for Romanov and some scrap picks.

Dach is really coming into his own. He's made massive strides in his physical game since he joined the team, and is becoming a true play driver. If he can improve on the dot, he has all the tools to be a top-15 C in the league.

Combing through the 2019 draft today, it looks like it'll easily be one of the best since 2003 and we've suddenly got 3 2019 first rounders on the team. Pretty wild.

They could have got Bedard with Dach too.

They are not related.

Btw, Yasuo is the champ i ban the most
"Could have". If Dach break out like he did last year for us it would probably change the standing and who knows who would have won the lottery. Maybe Chicago again but who knows?

Chicago would of probably been where Montreal picked. Or if they kept Debrincat, where Philly picked. They also wouldn't be as likely bad this year where they want another top 3 pick to add to their roster.
