that’s why i said it was a trap game. even on the windsor thread before Smith was fired I said this was gonna be a tough game
 
Anyone heard anything about Frasca? Curious if this is the week or next week is the week he makes his return

The fact that they are not "professionals" and that many are still considered minors there are probably a lot of reasons why we are not told publicly/on the record. I would imagine there are likely privacy issues( including that it's none of our business) safety concerns of disclosing actual nature of the injury in public, as well as ensuring that the player himself (sometimes with the input of agents, nhl teams, parents) are comfortable returning to play - locking a player to a date may remove that flexibility.

They don’t have to say a specific date but they can do stuff like week to week month to month, if a player isn’t on the team anymore make a little Instagram story about it just little stuff like that
 
Tonight is the biggest game of the season -- the much anticipated return of 0017......
ok, I'm kidding - but it will be interesting to see if McGowan is able to make some good clean contact on him.

According to puckpreps:
Kingston's 2023 5th round pick has committed to Penn State, joining Ontario's Chase Hull! Kieran was our 38th ranked skater for the 2023 OHL Draft and is a big pickup for the Nittany Lions. He has 27 pts in 21 games for St. Andrews College this year.

I liked him at training camp. Wish we could have signed him.

I noticed him in the "Draft/Rookie" camp in the summer wearing all the penguins stuff - he really stood out there.

I don’t think anybody will put the body on outwater this game just because everyone liked the guy. also he never really stirred up stuff with other teams so I would be shocked to see him do it against his former team.

Watch Abraham and peer. I think personally those are 2 people the fronts are keeping their eyes on. Hypothetically speaking if they were to get peer to replace savard they could definitely do that- it won’t be too pricey. And Abraham is very skilled he hasn’t had the best year this year but look at the 2 previous.

Only thing I’ll say about the guy is he has a hard time staying healthy. That could change this year though- and if we did acquire him he would be here for this year and next.

Also Windsor and kingston seem to like to trade their players back and forth so that’s why I’m saying keep and eye on those two as well lol.

Brutal was hoping he would be one of the rookies for next year. There’s probably a reason why he dropped to the 5th round and that’s because he wasn’t coming to the ohl to begin with.
Happens with a lot of skaters unfortunately- 2 I can remember are Cole and Lane Hutson both drafted to kingston in later rounds and both never showed

If you're looking at Peer, I'd hope Windsor goes for a Soto or Frasca and a pick or two. Peer's going to give you 60+ points, incredible speed and creativity, plus a real character off of the ice.

I hope you’re joking. Peer would be a good addition but he’s by no means a game changer.
Soto is already going to be a 60+ point guy and he’s 2 years younger. Frasca has been hurt but last year was #6 overall for ppg for the 06’s while playing good defensively. Peer is worth maybe what Jack beck was which was a 2 and a 3 but even then that’s pretty iffy.

I think they sold low on Beck. If I'm Windsor, I want an 05 or 06 with potential plus at least one pick btwn rounds 2-4. I know what Peer can bring and it's worth more than a couple of picks.

I would not do this for the simple reason, I do not believe the Fronts are built for this year. So giving up picks and a player for a 4 month plus playoff rental. Now if this was next year, my thought process may be different.

Imo peer would be cheaper than beck. No overager is going to get you a 17 year old stud lol. Look at Logan Morrison last year and that was after dominating the past couple of years in Hamilton- only went for picks. Peer is nowhere near that level that Morrison was.

^heard hopkins is sick and that’s why he is out. Soto was sick last week prob gave it to Hopkins

There is no way Windsor will get either player for Oliver Peer. At best they may get a young forward who is not a top prospect and couple of draft picks for him. The Petes could only get a 3rd and 5th for Connor Lockhart who had more points than Peer last year and won an OHL Championship and have Memorial Cup experience.
