Then ask if being in a 6-7 offensive or defensive role is better than the bleachers
It's the regulars that don't like it. Of course the guys on the outside looking in would prefer to be in the line up.

That being said. I think Williamson has looked much better then he did at start of year. Maybe they should use one of them on forward when dressing 7D and then they are available if they get into penalty trouble with D or there is a a D injury or fight? Or someone having an off night.

I like the way these guys are developing. I think next year will be the first time in a long tine that we will have three regular right shot D to start a season and a solid 6. Pending any moves that may be made this year and if they target a D in the draft.

I think once hopkins is healthy and frasca is back they are going to go back to 12-6

100% and probably the best centre depth in the league. Hopkins who would be a lot of teams second liner will be on our 4th line. His numbers haven’t been great this year but it’s because of very limited minutes. Make no mistake about him he’s a very skilled guy- reads the ice well and is a good skater. Has all the making of a good pro. Now we won’t see much of him this year maybe just 3rd/4th line and pp/pk 2 but next year I’d expect a big leap.

And if we insert weir next year into the lineup as well I’m sure both will get drafted top 4 rounds. Very high on weir I think he’s going to be a high scoring player for us in the next few years and will be one of the guys leading our team when our guys we have now age out.

Frasca last year had a better ppg then thibodeau and thibs is second in points right now for the fronts. Inserting him anywhere lines 1-3 is going to be a huge boost.

Personally I think they’re done making moves up front- just may move ludwinski for a player and picks but that would be it

I think one team that could be
One team that I could see being interested in ludwinski is London.

their Defence is extremely good, they got the ohl playoff mvp for a goalie- imo all they need to do is make some moves up front and I’m sure Dale would like ludwinski- kid hustles his ass every game, has been the mvp of our team, can play in any situation and wants to win at all costs, will put his body on the line for the team to do so.

If I’m kingston- I’m trying to get Sam O’Rielly from London In that deal and 2 2nd round picks or a 2 and a 3. Young kid will be back for next year and the year after. Would be a good 2nd/ 3rd liner this year and next year for us

I agree they’ve never really had solid defence. Also another thing they’ve never had is a d man that’s a ppg. Burns is close to that this year- and next year he will be even better.

A couple of more teams that may be interested in Ludwinski may be Guelph and Sudbury
I think fronts would be targeting an 06 F and picks rather than an 07 but I’m sure that would change hypothetically if Guelph were to offer a guy like Guelph Storm that would probably be an offer so good they couldn’t turn it down. If they did go and get a guy like him though what d man would be on the way out? I’d think Uens

Could see Guelph or London personally. Sudbury since they’re in the same conference I think they’d be less likely to help. But who knows- they’ve already made a trade with them this year. Probably would go for best offer and I’d take Oreilly or Beauchesne over anyone Sudbury throws at us unless they offer Nathan Villenueve and picks

I don;t think Sudbury GM is going to want to spend a lot this is a team that really seems lost and ot sure where it is going.

As to losing to Brantford that is not a bad thing they are probably the hottest team in the conference right now.

Tyler Savard is no longer on the Fronts roster (forgive the crude snapshot)

Savard went home confirmed.
This opens the door to bring in another OA. IMO there is still significant improvements that can easily be made to improve this team.

Uens & Poole are simply not good enough from my evaluations.
I do love the Chromiak acquisition to make the back end stronger.
Getting rid of Duncan Schieder was a no brainer.

Outwater for Mcnamara was kind of a wash but Outwater hasn't really done much as a Front. -Was never a fan of the trade to begin with.
This is going to be an exciting team to watch improve the rest of the season with Troy taking over the bench. There is also lots of draft picks available / stocked up to make improvements.

I agree with uens but Poole is a locker room guy. Great on faceoffs and the pk. If they trade him they won’t get much so therefore he is probably staying. Next year he might not be back though depending on a bunch of if ands or buts

The issue with Poole is he has been concussed so many times that he simply cannot fill the role of that scrappy forward that he use to be. His vision is not there for the speed of the game unfortunately and this is why he’s always getting rocked on the ice. A lot of these border line blind side hits he gets taken out by are avoided by better skaters. It seems like every other game he’s down on the ice for an extended period or leaving the game.

I agree it’s sad but the kids given his heart to the team over the past few seasons so I think they’ll let him finish this season with the fronts before trading him next year so he can have a bigger role with a different team

Looks like Frasca's listed as a reserve for this morning's game which seems like a good sign he'll be ready for the weekend.

Edit to add - looks like Ottawa only has 9F today (10th F is a rookie D) - hopefully can take advantage

Frasca was in the warmup. I’ve heard from multiple people he is targeting a Friday return for the teddy bear toss.

Good close game with the 67’s today. Couple bad goals though. 1st wasn’t bad but the second Ottawa goal was caused because Holmes was passing up in front of the kingston net to ludwinski who wasn’t looking- went off Ludwinskis skates perfectly to the 67s guy.

In OT it was very very close however a guy slipped behind uens in overtime and got the puck and scored. Heartbreaker to a real good game.

Ludwinskis 14 game point streak also ended today but he had a few good chances including a breakaway- donoso played well as did vaccari.

I don’t believe miedema played in overtime the whole time same with Chromiak. Not sure what all that is about.

Even Hopkins got a shift in overtime which I was impressed with- beside burns and ludwinski- he didn’t look out of place at all.

Onto Friday

Good to see McNamara with his first of the season! That should help get the monkey off his back. Excited for Frasca to be back on Friday. That will be a huge, much needed boost.

I thought they played a real good first but two mistakes by Holmes (walked around causing penalty, terrible turnover) causes them to be down 2-1. I would have sat him the rest of the period at least.

I wasn’t a fan of the OT, they need to watch how the 67s ran it and follow that lead. Stop pushing pucks up when you don’t have numbers and learn to peel back behind the net and make the change and attack. Too many tired players making rushes. Also, didn’t help that the 67s had too many men twice, including in the last 30 seconds where the goal ended up coming.

Tough to lose an extra point on home ice to a team you are trying to catch…

I agree. Against them this year though technically they’ve got 5/6 points. Can’t win every game. They should’ve won that one though. Outplayed Ottawa 2nd and third period and wasn’t even close. Donosos trade value is doing nothing but rising for them. Been very impressed with him lately.

Also with frasca as everyone here is probably aware I think the kids gonna be a star- however don’t judge the kid the first couple of games he’s back- will probably be a slower start to the year(no training camp, pre season or any games thus far) ludwinski started the year fairly slow and since then he’s been our mvp outside of vaccari

Ottawa only had 9 forwards so I am happy they managed to get the 2 points. As a result Fronts outplayed them but Donoso was real good.

Tough loss but good to get a point. We had some great opportunities to win that game. Donosos stole that extra point imo. Nice save on Ludwinski on the shorthanded breakaway in third and then again on Burns breakaway in OT. Uens just missed putting that under the bar on a nice feed from Hemstrom to end it late and then Ottawa went the other way and got the winner. Unfortunate.

Better effort from Miedema today finally. And not just because he scored. He was moving his feet and physical. Hopefully he takes that into the weekend instead of disappearing for 6 or 76 games in between good ones again.

Several turnovers by Thibodeau and Battaglia being individuals again.

Sounded like it was loud there with all the kids. Should be two good games this weekend.

Donoso definitely stole the game. Was a combination of his excellent play and a few fronts errors that lost the fronts the game.

What was simpson traded to London for? Could see a similar return for donoso (maybe not as much but who knows cause the timing will probably favour Ottawa if/when they trade him to some team

They received Zach Bowen and a 2025 3rd.

Hmm that’s interesting cause not many goalies in the league have as much potential as Bowen. I assume picks would probably be going the other way for donoso. Maybe 2 3rds and a 4 or 5th?

The fronts just posted a video on their Instagram about who the players think will be scoring the teddy bear toss goal and 2 people said frasca and miedema said it will be his first game back so I think that pretty much confirms frasca for Friday

The ‘67s can only hope. Which two teams would be wanting an OA goalie?
