The ‘67s can only hope. Which two teams would be wanting an OA goalie?
Saginaw needs a goalie upgrade for sure but they’re probably going after divinctiis

Not sure as of now other teams that may need a goalie will do some research. Also if there isn’t many teams interested that obviously drives the asking price down

Niagara only dressed 4 dmen tonight and they have a lot of draft picks. Maybe trade one of ours for a pick or two. Then maybe go after some one like LeBlanc from Sarnia

That would be a great idea. I was thinking about D man Leblanc when we played sarnia there about a week or two ago. I think the only problem with that is I don’t believe the brothers want to be split up so you’d have to trade for both which would make it more challenging. However would be a great pick up cause he would match our timeline for this year and next

I agree it’s sad but the kids given his heart to the team over the past few seasons so I think they’ll let him finish this season with the fronts before trading him next year so he can have a bigger role with a different team
I think the more likely option is that if the team is nice they bring him back for enough games to qualify for his extra uni credit then release him.

If he is injury-prone due to concussion no one is going to want him and it becomes a liability to his health.

Hmm that’s interesting cause not many goalies in the league have as much potential as Bowen. I assume picks would probably be going the other way for donoso. Maybe 2 3rds and a 4 or 5th?
The challenge with Donoso is that he is a starter. he needs to play games. I think the loffer will be low draft picks to a team that can lay him. If they are avail.

If Springer decides to go for it this year I could see him in a fronts jersey if the price was right.

I agree. Not sure how it would all work out for him but I don’t see them just waiving him mid season here for instance I think he has a spot on the team atleast for the rest of the year.

Beast ur a genius. I was thinking the fronts need a backup for cheap preferably. If there is 0 interest in donoso maybe that would work out. Only thing is though it’s a very similar situation to Ottawa where it’s kind of standing pat this year and next year should be much better so I’m not sure they would do that just because of it. Also same division. But if they made a trade for him I would support it with open arms as poor vaccari is playing every damn game the kid must be very tired.

And getting back to the Leblanc twins. Maybe it could work out- but would leave us with some hard choices for next season if we did this with our current 04’s. If we traded ludwinski for instance for lots of picks to some team like Saginaw/London/Guelph/Sudbury I’m sure they could get atleast 2nds and 2 3rds for him. Which if they were to get the leblanc twins and sent some front there with some of those if not all of the picks I’m sure it would work out

Obviously “spitballing” this as it’s a longshot but pretty interesting to discuss regardless

The advantage for the Fronts would be that they have a proven goalie who can win in the playoffs. Salajko is wasting time dressing for the Fronts. Just like Ottawa with Nelson getting game experience is better than sitting on the bench.

As has been discussed this conference is a mess this year with no clear leader unless the Petes stand pat.

Having Donoso and his experience might be a benefit and would take some of the pressure off of Vaccari.

Also looking at Springer's history lol I can see him making a rade to take a run at it this year.
As I said on the 67 thread the biggest worry for this team is Mann getting a pro-contract offer.

Yeah I agree I was thinking that. If vaccari played similar games to what McKenzie is playing then that would help relieve vaccari lots. Right now he’s on pace to play 62/68 games LOL

Jeremy helvig didn’t even play that much

Mann had pro offers and chose Kingston to not uproute his family. I think he would be willing to stay 2 more years until his daughter’s done high school. Likely ends up back in the A after that again.

Good to hear. Yeah I don’t know much about the guy but it wouldn’t make sense for an organization to just go out and get the best coach available only for 1 year. I don’t believe he would’ve been hired if it was just for 1 year. After year 2 yeah who knows really- probably will leave but that’s double the time here regardless

Do they? I was under the impression Saginaw has faith in Oke

The IceDogs have been unlucky with the amount of scratched players over 3+ weeks.
If healthy the D consists of 2-OA, one ‘04, 3-‘05, one ‘07, and one ‘07 affiliate.
Their D is as good or better than the frontenacs I think.

We will wait and see but if divinctiis is for the right price I don’t see Saginaw passing him up. If he doesn’t go to Saginaw- then maybe SSM? 0 chance In hell north bay keeps him and Nelson. They’re both ahl bound next year

They may also be conference-final bound with NB for a 3rd straight year

Nobody goes for it 3 years in a row there will be trades

Gabriel Frasca just posted on his Instagram “We back” so that definitely confirms he’s playing tomorrow.

Anyone got a prediction who scores the goal lol? I’m gonna pick frasca since it’s his first game back and a frasca’s scored the last 2 years

Yeah but to me that is the biggest worry that Cooper and Springer have.
even if it is 2 years then they need to make sure that there is a viable replacement that knows and accepts Mann's sysem.

There might not be anyone that went for it 3 years in a row like Erie did. NB made a serious push last season

Absolutely. But they just hired the guy and the results so far have been pretty good. Don’t think they’re stressing too much about 2 years from now. They’ll find someone I’m sure and even then mann could fool everyone and still stay here for a long period of time. Ya never know

Yes that’s right

3 straight 50 win seasons won’t happen very often that’s for sure. 2 in a row is impressive enough let alone 3.

If north bay went all in again this year only to lose 2nd/3rd round again they’d be screwing themselves. What I think will happen is they only trade divinctiis and Nelson as those two for sure won’t be back next year. Then next season bring in some youth and maybe trade Romani as he will have a lot of value. If they wanted to go full rebuild mode they could trade all 3 this year to really kickstart the rebuild but I’m sure Romani is safe this year

I do not think there ever will be team that can match the Peterborough Petes feat of going to the Leyden Division Final six years in a row from 1985 through 1990 and going to the final four eight out of nine seasons from 1985 through 1993.

That was a different time and a different era completely.

N is not going to go for it this year and make any trades that cost them draft picks. I think right now, the question they have is who has the best offer for de vin.

The ultimate would be for Springer to ay Mann a decent enough wage that he decides that he is happy in KIngston and stays there.

The smart thing though is to make sure the assts that they bring in have bought into his system and are able to coach it.

That was the problem with the past coaches there was no one in the system that could step up.

The best thing the CHL could negotiate with the NHL is to set a deadline after which teams are prohibited from signing CHL coaches.

I agree with all of that. I assume Mann would have a good wage- obviously more than Caputi but maybe not quite Dale hunter.

Yes I agree it was nice having Paul McFarland then getting varady for the 1 year but since our coaching has been shit except for Mann. And before that it was gill I believe before mcfarland and he was horrible too.

If we had a good coach like Dale hunter every year I’m sure a lot of these years we would go further. Credit to London for luring the big fish there and keeping it well fed($)

Springer should learn a thing or two about that- hopefully he turns over a new leaf with Mann here

Looking at the fronts schedule the next 8 games before Christmas are going to be pretty tough

North bay (who we haven’t beat in the last 2 years) x2 home and home

Flint who is above 0.500

Soo away who is second in the west

Sudbury away who hasn’t played very well this year but has the talent and will likely make more moves

Pete’s who are first in the east right now

Niagara but we lost to them earlier this year

Brantford who is currently the hottest team in the east and is above us in standings- beat us twice

Hoping to go 6-2 in these games but more realistic may be 4-4

I doubt they want to, but I would not be surprised if DiVincentiis is traded. The Battalion think they have three starting calibre goalies. That’s what they say publicly, at least.

The NB rebuild is well under way. They have 9 signed ‘06. You should have a closer look at they have for picks and prospects.
Next season will be tough for them as the team traded their first two ‘05 picks last year.

Some of the teams we play before Christmas will be losing players to their World Jr teams tryouts. I would imagine Nelson from NB but not tonight lol. Musty and maybe Goyette from Sudbury, Lardis from Brantford and Beck from Peterborough. There be others that escape me at this moment, like the imports on each team. I think Kingston will only lose Chromiak.
