Ritchie turtled to velliaris on Peterborough and Lockhart turtled to Schmidt but we haven’t heard much of that from you lol. Guess it only fits the agenda if it’s a player turtling the gens (btw Poole if he gets 1 more concussion he is done playing hockey for good per a doctor so I’d give him some slack there)
Lockhart was going at Schmidt the whole game and they’ve both played in the league for 5 years. Lots of time for stuff to build up not to mention probably playing minor hockey too. If Lockhart is going to talk all that shit he should back it up or just quit it entirely before next time he gets hurt whether it’s from Schmidt or someone else.
Why would I heckle players on the team that I support? That defies logic.
If you were at the game and wanted to heckle Ritchie for getting pummelled, go right ahead. I can assure you that I’d never be triggered by it or accuse you of something tantamount to child abuse for doing so.
I commented on the Ritchie incident in the Oshawa forum as well as in the Peterborough forum.
Much like Nate Poole, Ritchie tried to rough things up in a skirmish with Velliaris. So Velliaris dropped the gloves, which is totally expected.
Lockhart was in Schmidt’s head right from the start of the game, and you knew it was just a matter of time until Schmidt did something even dumber than turning the puck over and costing his team a goal as he did in the 1st period.
Unlike Ritchie, Lockhart wasn’t trying to rough things up when Schmidt finally went into full meltdown mode.
I was laughing when Schmidt leaped in Lockhart’s back and started punching him in the helmet because it was the culmination of getting in his head all night. When Lockhart got up, he was laughing too.
The funniest thing is, Velliaris got a four game suspension and Schmidt got six games. I don’t think either warranted a suspension but if the league wants to sit down players on a rival team, I’m not going to argue with it.
I don’t believe Ritchie was trying to draw Velliaris into a penalty/suspension but Lockhart was most definitely doing so with Schmidt. Unfortunately for Kingston, Schmidt was dumb enough to fall for it.
As for Nate Poole, if he’s so fragile that one more concussion will end his career WHY is he trying to mix things up after the whistle? Just skate away to the bench so as not to put yourself at risk of a concussion and let the rest of the players have at it.
