There’s something in the drinking water in Oshawa, between Donnie Degenerate and Gens Live, they view a game in Oshawa in dream form. Saying Heyes was rag dolled is comical, Bedkowski has about 5 inches on Heyes and was trying to get away from him or at least that’s what it looked like, there were no real winners, but Heyes deserves full kudos for going right after him on that elbow.
Donnie D, LMAO

It’s nothing personal, my friend. I just call it as I see it.

Like at the deadline when I explained how senseless it was for Kingston to be giving away picks because they were going nowhere this year.

Now people are beginning to understand what I was talking about.
kingston was never gonna win the ohl this year lol but they along with teams like Ottawa, Sudbury, and north bay will likely be the teams going on to the second round. They’re built for the playoffs.

And they’ll only be better next year- they’ll be fine, a bad weekend isn’t the end of the season lol. Would say the same thing if it was kingston that won against Oshawa twice like that.

Most people on here understood the fronts should’ve traded ludwinski for a Donovan package. Why they didn’t? We will never know. That’s part of being a fan we don’t pull the strings no matter how strongly we feel about a certain player, team or outcome. Sit back and enjoy the show.

Not sure he was Donovan's value, but the issue is more what the Fronts are doing. I think that the fact that there is not a true leader in the East. That is why many players should have been traded and were not.

I think Cooper has the same view as Boyd in that there is no one that stands out so why not take a run at the division and 2nd in the playoffs

While it is likely that Ludwinski will be in the AHL next year there is no guarantee. He could be an OA.

One thing we know is that the race to 2nd is going to be interesting.

The only way ludwinski isn’t in the ahl next year is an injury. Don’t wanna jynx anything here but he’s leaps and bounds better from last season. Last season though he was better than he produced he had a rocky start to the year coming back from an injury then trades happened and he never really got going.

He wouldn’t have gotten Donovan’s package no, I meant where the fronts would’ve got lots of picks like Donovan. There was more of a need for Donovan on the market then ludwinski but I think ludz still would’ve been able to pull 2-3 seconds and 2-3 thirds atleast or swap the thirds for 4th/5th round

Yes east is wide open. If the standings are all jumbled and missisauga surprises some people here and gets second in the central, one of Sudbury or north bay could be out second round if they match up against eachother then. Leaving Ottawa/Oshawa or kingston with a chance against Mississauga and to make it onto the third round(only to get steamrolled by one of north bay/Sudbury but atleast they still make it there for the experience)

I think that Kingstons weekend against Oshawa won’t be repeated again this season they looked completely out of it and had some of their worst games since about November in a 2 game stretch. They might not get 1st or second even in the division however that shit won’t fly again.

Oh and if ludwinski came back next year that would be a huge get for kingston obviously. Hopefully they protect that as we all know what happened with Josh bloom

Their next 5 games they play Owen sound, Saginaw, niagara, brantford and Oshawa. They could win 4/5 of those games. Not gonna give them much of a chance against Saginaw personally I think Sunday they’re getting blown out of the water similar to the last oshawa game and then everyone on here is gonna be sounding the alarm but i mean what do you expect they're hosting the mem cup and not only do they want to win the ohl, they want to win the chl too.

Kingston has a 50/50 chance against Saginaw.

Saginaw is going to be on the long road trip doing the 3 in 2 and half days run.

So they may be tired or frustrated.

I would be more worried about 9-11 feb not sure who thought up the sched but that is rediculous

Kitchener at home Barrie and North Bay

Frankly February looks like hell

Not sure who made teh schedule but they did you guys no favours.

I think you might wish you had picked up another goalie

The only reason Ludwinski would not have gotten Donovan’s value was because not many teams had the pick capital to make it happen. I do feel he’d have received the same overall value when translated to pick value.

Last season, players of lessor impact than Ludwinski went for two 2nds and three 3rds and in some cases another piece. Donovan was two 2nds, four 3rds and two 4ths. That isn’t all that far off those deals last year for guys like Harrison and Zhilkin etc.

I firmly believe the Ludwinski deal could have been two 2nds, three 3rds and a decent 17 year old prospect type. That package would have been in the same ballpark as Donovan.

I could very well have seen the 67’s trade two 2nds, two 3rds and two 4ths plus Brady for Ludwinski. They then could have maybe not worried about getting two OA centres and they may have been able to add a different position OA to help another area. That said, the deal here probably gets beat by another team!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Paul back for his OA season.
There is still a lot of growth opportunity there he is still a relatively small player at 5'11 180 and his game won't translate well at that size in the AHL.
He will get bodied trying to puck handle through men in the AHL. -Whole different ball game in the A.
From a development stand point its going to make much more sense to let him grow and play max minutes in the O then it is to play 10 minutes a game in Rockford.

What about the practice element in the AHL at a higher pace? Do they get enough practice time to make that worth while? I know practicing with higher level players has a long term benefit and helps the transition quite a bit. In theory, he could pack on 10 pounds in the offseason and play at 190 without an issue. Then it would likely be more a matter of pace.

Its possible - I just realized he's already signed his ELC.
For some reason i thought he was un signed still.

In that case, he is more likely subject to organizational depth and where they “can” fit him in.

Regardless, him returning as an OA would be a wish more than an expectation. In light of that, Kingston would have proceeded on the assumption he wouldn’t return. I highly doubt they are holding out anything more than hope for his return as an OA.

Based on things I've read on Blackhawk blogs etc....they fully expect him to be in Rockford to start next season.

Definitely.

Aside from the fact that he’s already signed a contract with Chicago, keep in mind that he’s a 2nd round pick.

Teams aren’t going to leave a high pick like that wallowing in junior hockey as an OA in comparison to a later round pick.

Like, for example, Dylan Roobroeck in Oshawa. A 6th round pick and still unsigned by NY. Offer more likely that he’ll be back as an OA next year. With Ludwinski, there’s no chance of him returning.

You’re right- forgot about that

Hopefully McGowan and uens are back so they don’t need to play as much velliaris/williamson
Uens should be back, the two Oshawa games were his suspension.

I've been pretty impressed with both Velliaris and Williamson this year - moreso Velliaris in the limited viewings. No timidity, more than willing to play physical and although there's been a couple blips puck handling that's to be expected with a 16y/o Dman.

I really hope he's a part of the regular top 6 next year - but if they decide to go for it he might be hard pressed at the end of the year, same with Williamson really.

Depending on what they do in the import draft/OA market - I see them starting the year like this

BurnsOA
McGowanChromiak
VelliarisUens
Williamson

Then Williamson/Uens moved out for a steady 05 D (not necessarily same trade), possibly another OA and then you've got Velliaris as 7D

Even though I know it's two totally separate situations, Kingston actually had a 2nd rounder as an OA last year in Ben Roger - although that was more of a horrendously bad reach by the Sens more than anything else (and I absolutely love seeing the Sens waste a pick).

The problem was roger was on the knights. All their players get drafted. If he was on a different team no way in hell does he go second round. Maybe 4th-5th. Also the Covid year.

I think velliaris is a project d man. He’s alright now but in 2 years he could be leading the d core. Needs to grow into his body a bit more and work on offensive skills. He will be a good one though.

Another off season with him being so big I could see him taking uens spot from him next year leaving uens as the 7th d man as a 19yr old undersized player(probably won’t last on the fronts and get traded elsewhere)

Also agree with you on the OA/ import situation for next year they’ll definitely be looking for high impact players there

Something to consider as well- I just realized this but pieniniemi is going to be 19 next year. Maybe they drafted him that high in hopes of him coming next year all along?

Coopers not a dumb guy- guys like McCarthy and pieniniemi that he took some chances on would all fit the timeline for the team. Doesn’t mean they get those players but there’s always a chance

McGowan is back practicing and is healthy again - so assume he will be playing all weekend.

Totally different situation because Ben Roger was never signed to a contract.

Ottawa made a horrendously bad pick taking Roger in the 2nd round, but at least they didn’t compound their mistake by wasting a 3yr contract on him.

Forgot to mention this but Nathan Villeneuve is replacing an injured player in the top prospects game. Battaglia definitely snubbed.

Last 10 games Battaglia- 8 goals, 9 assists 17pts in 10 games.

Points for the season 41 in 39 games

Last 10 games Villeneueve- 4 goals, 8 assists 12 pts in 10 games

Points for the season 31pts in 38 games

Confusing move made there by the chl
