The difference between a .895 save percentage and a .910 is winning an extra two or three games easily (if not more). That puts us in striking distance of the division lead

Maybe, But you could also lose those games. Quick lost what ? 18 games last year were he kept the opposition to one Goal ?

You goalie can be lights out and still lose. Quick probably broke some records with that type of play last year.

Who cares, Jon Quick won us the cup last year. He should be our starter the next 10 years.

Also hasn't played as many games. I would bet Johnny B would have a similar SV % around the same amount of games played.

Slightly better maybe 910.

The D gives up prime shots.

Not taking sides but what makes you believe that? The only game that I can remember that Bernier gave up 3 goals was his first appearance where he gave up 3 goals after Quick was pulled after giving up 4 in one period. Bernier has seen more shots per game than Quick. Bernier has a solid sample size in front of the same D to have a good idea as to what to expect. bernier has tons of break downs in front of him.

Well like I said, it's not up to me it's up to Sutter.

Sutter keeps playing Quick...So something must be going right.

First two periods were good, but the game is 60 mins. The Kings got handled just fine in the third.

I remember us telling Blues fan's not to cry about calls in the postseason. Good teams overcome them blah blah.

Well shouldn't we be taking our own advice ?

So we dominate in the majority of the game and fold. It's just crazy how we go 2-2 on PP and suddenly they start getting no calls.

We didn't do that bad in the third. The reffing was bad and the goaltending was average

But how many times has he done that this season? I think it might be zero. I'm not talking about Quick being lights out, I'd simply settle for middle of the road as far as NHL goalies go at this rate

I can't believe the number of posters crying about Quick.

I know I shouldn't come in here after a loss. Jesus H. Christ. I'm embarrassed for some of you, I really am.

Do you think Quick looks the same as past years?

If you do, well like, that's just your opinion, man.

The only reason he's playing him is because of last season. Bernier deserves to be playing mostly this season but he isn't . We won almost every game with johnny B and they look more comfortable with him because his style is more composed.

Well post game comments are up, Players saying they got away from their game let Minny back into it.

No one blaming the Refs or Quick.

So lets hope a good game against Dallas, cause you know Dallas will be ready.

At this point Dallas must think easy points.

Yeah but did Bernier win the cup last year? They should just never play him or let him prove himself as a goaltender, even though all those years in the minors management kept telling he'd earn his shot.

Yes, we must be crazy for wanting to stick with a goaltender after the spectacular season last year which led to a cup and a past that dictates that this year is simply an anomaly. You know 25 games are obviously enough to establish that a franchise goalie is done and should be traded away. Just like 9 games is enough to give the team over to a goalie whose never had a starting job before.

Cause NHL coaches don't panic and cry and wine like you do.

Sutter is an NHL coach for a reason.

Johnny Quick carried the Kings (dragged them) for a reason.

Thanks, that is EXACTLY what I wanted to say.

That and some rehab has to happen during game situations. It is why lesser players are usually sent down to the farm to rehab. JQ has to get his back to return to the same level of flexibility that it has been up until this past season and it has to happen under game conditions.

I guess it must be hard to understand how things actually work at times and crying and whining must be a better option when that is all that someone has but then who really cares?

I am not saying that JQ is above criticism at all, I mean read what he himself is saying about his game and you will hear all of the criticism of him that you will ever want. The guy is great, one of the top 4 goalies in the game and we owe him the time and support to get him back to his elite level of play.

It won't always be pretty and thank god for JB in the meantime but JQ will make it back to form.

Look how well he is doing at 60%.

Sutter's doing the right thing in sticking with him. You can't make a cup run with an unproven guy like Bernier. I do believe JB needs a a few more starts sprinkled in. Quick seems to look good for a couple games and then has a questionable one. The pattern has been set so you'd think he's get more rests after back surgery.

Bleh I'm done with these threads for a while. Too many of our own fans starting to sound like nuck fans. 5 out of 6 points and its a ***** fest. Unreal.

Just for giggles though for those saying the quick has been choking. Did you see the stats they showed at the end of one? Kings are the best team in the league when scoring for or having a lead at any point in the game. Pretty impressive.

Our players are the most well kept and conservative with the media. Just because they say something doesn't mean they think something else.

Quick is frustrated with his play, you can tell.

Play Bernier tomorrow. Quick is still going to be the #1 goalie for the Kings in the playoffs and those games are never decided by a shootout.

If the Kings draw the Wild in the 1st round, I think the Kings are better than the Wild in a 7-game series.

Did you miss Kopitar's comments? He took a shot at the refs:

On whether an explanation was given on the non-call when Slava Voynov appeared to be high-sticked:
“I don’t know if I’m supposed to say it or not, but apparently that’s a new rule – even if you fan on a shot, it’s not a penalty. They put it in place a week ago when it happened in Chicago against us.”

That's as close as you are going to get from a player saying the refs sucked.

The only way Id cringe at that match up, is if the Wild had home ice.

Since the Wild have come into the league, they have been a really tough team to beat at home.
