The amount of **** Quick gets here is insane. Teams would kill to have a goalie like Quick and yet we have people shouting to bench him for the season and trade him. The goals in this game were not soft. He is keeping the team in the game, he is not single handedly losing games. How about the defense which allows guys to skate circles around them this game to get to Quick? He hasn't been as good this season but he litterally carried them to the playoffs last year.

We would not have a cup without Quick. We would not have even gotten to the playoffs without Quick. If he has one subpar season where he doesn't save every single shot in sight, fine, **** happens. The Kings are still winning the majority of their games this year. Good God, even if he was playing like a beer league goaltender out there the one guy who deserves a mulligan this season is Jonathan ****ing Quick.

I'm not saying that he shouldn't be criticized but the calls to replace him, trade him, etc. are ridiculous. Give the guy a shot to right himself, hasn't he deserved that much?

Any clean shot from just inside the blue line is a bad goal. He was in a bad position and didn't even react to it until the puck was in the net. That's why many of us have been saying that his issues have been menatl as well as physical. he has failed to understand situations on too many occasions and as Kelly Hrudey has been harping on all year he's simply not following the puck.

Dude that Shot was perfect and about from the Circles. Patrick Roy in his prime doesn't stop that shot

Hmmmm ... so even going 2-0-1 to open 3 games of a 5 game roadie, against 3 teams that are all in the top 8 ... and the sky is falling :scared: around here again ?

Someone forget to renew the bi-polar medication ? because it's getting thick around these parts again. :thumbd:

We get a point, coulda had 2 sure, woulda had 2 sure ... blame Nolan, blame Fraser, game should have never gone to a shoot out had it not been for those two.

Penner & Richardson in for them at Dallas tomorrow if I'm Sutter !

We all know Bernier most likely gets Dallas, but you know as pissed as Quick is after that shootout, IMO I give it to him, he has a history of strong comebacks after stuff like that.

It's beyond that, at least from my POV. Quick is not playing like Quick, he is not stealing games and he is even letting leads slide. Not good going into playoffs, heck we need to make the playoffs first.

Bingo.

People forget Quick was the only King showing up last year.

Quick showed up about every game for 82. I think I'll cut the guy some slack this year.

Next year he does need to get back to 920. SV %

A full season mulligan you say? Gosh golly wiz, if only we had a backup goaltender capable of being a starter!

Great game tonight guys! I know the Wild got 2pts out of a skill competition from it, but they didn't beat the Kings. That was a well played game between two teams that matchup pretty well together! A playoff series between the Wild and the Kings would be intense!

See you guys Thursday! Good luck until then!

I agree, but maybe it's time to play Bernier a little more. Something is not right about Quick, or maybe I am just VERY spoiled from last season. Performances last season wins Vezina trophies. This season he looks like a bad starting goalie. The numbers reflect that as well.

If you think the defense is alright you are not watching the games.

what are you talking about, ive been asking for DL to trade for a defenseman all year.

but if you ask me what has been worse the kings defense or quick, its quick wasy.

Okay, then what are you talking about? Is the defense good or not?

We have a Florida reject playing minutes on our back end. Obviously we have a problem.

He is not going to play like that every again. It was a career year, and a post season that happens once in a decade(heck maybe lifetime)..

What you want from Quick is 920. SV consistently.

Just like Hank, Hank with bad Defense still puts up 920.

1st goal.... Kings defense had the perfect gap, stood up to Cullen. I will give credit to Cullen for a good shot but those shots are USUALLY stopped by Quickie. The 2nd one, Coyle was down on his needs and puts a floater in. If see the first goal closely, Quick had a hard time moving across and over the course of the year, many goals have been scored on Quick because he is not able to move side to side as well. I am telling you, his back surgery is still affecting him. I will admit that no d-men were around Coyle for that goal but it was still a very bad shot on net that went in. The 3rd goal was a trash goal, on the PK, what could you do about it. I think our D-Core has been playing well enough to win. Mitchell and Greene would definitely help quite a bit, however.

Our D core has been playing exceptionally well all things considered, Ellerby and Muzzin have been very pleasant surprises. I just think we're especially missing Mitchell. As good as Doughty and Quick were last year, he in my opinion was the glue to the D. We're also missing Greenes hits and crease clearing, keeping opposition forwards honest. Offseason back surgery to Quick obviously doesn't help matters.

Quick is not mentally as sharp as he has been. Over the past few years, I would look forward to him in the shootout, thinking "he's money - we got his." And he would rarely disappoint.

... not so tonight, he looked bad on all 3 shots.

He's not 100%, that's for sure.

Quick has been below 500. in the shootout for two years now.

The League does figure you out at some point.

That can be a slanted stat can't it? We always seem get a lot of shots, but lots seem to be from the point. The wild manufactured some pretty good opportunities,

it's not bad enought to excuse quick's poor play.

Nobody's excused it outright, but there are reasons his play isn't great. But when it comes to people who would call any goal let in by Quick a bad one (which you continue to do), there is no appeasing them.

The guy had back surgery. You go have some quack work on your back, see how you feel. Much like the guy across the hall, Dwight Howard, this is a throwaway year for him. He rehabs, he works, he gets back to it. He's earned that and he's earned some slack. If you want to blame someone for Bernier not playing, blame the guy behind the bench.

Nobody has been calling for him to be traded. That's a little sensational. Nobody is saying he's not an elite goalie. All the criticsims I've seen are talking about him right now and how that will effect the cup run this year. There are issues he's battling through physically, mentaly and on top of that he's not used to the type of defense he's been getting in front of him. He'll be alright and he's getting better of late.
