The first two he was beaten to the net. When you come out so deep you had better be able to skate backwards in control, with the correct speed while being able to recover to moves. He got back on the first but couldn't react in time. The second he was just beaten to the net by Koivu who blew him away with speed. Koivu could have slid that on the ice and scored because Quick had 5 feet between he and the net. The third is simply inexcusable. Standing straight up with you stick at your shins. There was no shot he was going to stop there.

It all doesn't really matter. Just analizing his attempts.

I always appreciate your opinions on what happened in net. I think you are bang on with the first two goals. JQ is playing out which is a good sign that he is becoming more confident about his physical condition but his timing and angles are still off at times so he is just gonna have to work through it imo.

Great analysis again.

Quick should have had the first 2 goals. Lefty shooting from the left wing on the outside should never go in the net. Bad goal. I don't know what he was doing on the Coyle goal. He jumped into the air in some Superman act trying to make a save on a guy who was sprawling on the ice who had absolutely no leverage on the puck. All Quick had to do was stay on the ice and that puck doesn't go in.

I thought the exact same thing as well. Coyle was flat on his ass... I have no idea why Quick did that superman leap to the side.

The Wild are a pretty good team, but they were handed one goal. I'm not jumping off the cliff over this. It should have been a win.

But I will say, if they get as many odd man rushes in the playoffs as they did tonight, the Kings will be very lucky to beat them. Suter and that kid Brodin were launching the puck up to their forwards and they were flying.

I'm confident we would make those adjustments Ina 7 game series. Sutter > yeo. Plus, they have 1.5 lines and a bunch of pylons behind suter and brodin

No one wants to give the Wild credit I see.

The Wild are the real deal man, that is a great team at Home.

They played well, put us under quite a lot of pressure and seemed to have quite a few outnumbered attacks. I think I was a little bit disappointed by the kings lack of physical play. They should have been hitting everything that moved against a team playing back to back after a physical game with Dallas. Perhaps they were a little intimidated by the presence of Konopka and Rupp

They still scored the required Goals need to win....

Only one of them was a maybe borderline call.
Sure maybe one call was borderline, but how about all the blatant non-calls? The most important one led to the tying goal. How a high stick isn't called on Voynov play is beyond me. His tooth was *** broken, yet it wasn't a penalty when the ref was staring right at it.

The Kings have also given Four points to Dallas.

So it happens, Teams given the kings their A game.

I am sure Dallas will get up again to play the next one.

I think its Mitchell and Greene that is the problem, not Quick.

1st goal.... Kings defense had the perfect gap, stood up to Cullen. I will give credit to Cullen for a good shot but those shots are USUALLY stopped by Quickie. The 2nd one, Coyle was down on his needs and puts a floater in. If see the first goal closely, Quick had a hard time moving across and over the course of the year, many goals have been scored on Quick because he is not able to move side to side as well. I am telling you, his back surgery is still affecting him. I will admit that no d-men were around Coyle for that goal but it was still a very bad shot on net that went in. The 3rd goal was a trash goal, on the PK, what could you do about it. I think our D-Core has been playing well enough to win. Mitchell and Greene would definitely help quite a bit, however.

I think Sutter would too, which is why I said if. I guess we'll see the next time the Kings play them, but you can't give up all those 3 on 2's and expect to get out of the building with 2 easy points. Or stop moving your feet and tackle the goalie. Stuff like that is unacceptable, and the Kings nearly won anyway.

We have a hard time with trailers as well. See Cullen's goal, everything against Dallas this year...those are problems.

Looks like Nolan might be spending some time in Sutter's Chateau Bow Wow and/or paying himself right out of town. He made come costly mistakes tonight.

As disappointing as losing this game is, getting 5 o 6 points so far is good playing 3 very good teams. Its admirable they've played so well and accumulated the number of points they have without mitchell and Greene. Really admirable. Then you throw in Quick no completely thru the rehabbing of the back. If those three are healthy all year, the Kings are possibly where the Ducks are now.

But they know what they have to do and it's getting down the stretch time. Bernier will start tomorrow, they'll put a solid 60 in and hopefull, by Wens if not sooner, DL will get a vet D to stabilize that back end and a LW for the 2nd line so Richards can move back to center.

Did it seem Quick was out a bit too far on those SO attempts???

I saw that too, but you can't give up second opportunities from the slot. That was on the defense.

Kings made quick look a lot better than he is last season with their play in front of him, but quick is currently playing worse than he is right now. I hope it is the back injury and not a sign of things.

Quick needs to get back to 0.915% - 0.920% next season.

Back to Back's are overrated, the only ones that seem to matter are the Four games in six night one's.

I am going to try and make a chart on Back to Back's over the last Five years.

I bet teams on Back to Back's are over 500.Players today are in tip top shape most of the time.

wild shouldn't have even been close let alone win the game......

oh well on to dallas.

Hmmmm ... so even going 2-0-1 to open 3 games of a 5 game roadie, against 3 teams that are all in the top 8 ... and the sky is falling :scared: around here again ?

Someone forget to renew the bi-polar medication ? because it's getting thick around these parts again. :thumbd:

We get a point, coulda had 2 sure, woulda had 2 sure ... blame Nolan, blame Fraser, game should have never gone to a shoot out had it not been for those two.

Penner & Richardson in for them at Dallas tomorrow if I'm Sutter !

We all know Bernier most likely gets Dallas, but you know as pissed as Quick is after that shootout, IMO I give it to him, he has a history of strong comebacks after stuff like that.

Wasn't the first goal a laser by Cullen off the post and in? Not soft at all. That goals was on Fraser and Nolan. They turned it over at the blue line instead of getting it deep.

Kings lost the game because of their fourth line. **** happens.

Any clean shot from just inside the blue line is a bad goal. He was in a bad position and didn't even react to it until the puck was in the net. That's why many of us have been saying that his issues have been menatl as well as physical. he has failed to understand situations on too many occasions and as Kelly Hrudey has been harping on all year he's simply not following the puck.

The first Minny goal was a perfect snipe. Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition.

Because he was pretty ****ing awful and let in 3 softies + 3 shootout goals? Conn Smythe is looking a lot like Dan Cloutier this year.

Yeah he wasn't great, but 3 softies? Come on, now you're just being completely unreasonable. That 5-on-3 goal especially would have required a miracle save.

That wasn't just inside the blue line, that's prime shooting position with speed and traffic.

Quick has one d-man (Voynov) standing there doing nothing in front of him and Bouchard flashing across him. That is hardly an easy save to make.

Honestly, I can't really complain about the result. Only saw from just after Minny scored their 2nd goal, so in what I saw, they got outplayed in the 3rd and were lucky to get a point.

Also, I came into this trip saying i'd be happy with 5 points on this trip, well they've done that........with 2 games remaining.
