#LAKings started out with some line rushes; D-pairings stayed the same and Mitchell was with Bodnarchuk.

Early practice after a late game, fly to Chicago and early game tomorrow. Sounds like a fatigue factor. But then again, this team has been full of surprises this postseason. Maybe they come out fired up in game 1 and get that all important W

The only saving grace is the Kings have had minimal travel in the 1st 2 rounds. Couldn't ask for a better travel situation in two 7 game series.

Sounds to me like Sutter thought it was more important to get a good night's rest in their own beds than to rush off to Chicago.

I know they can do it!

Go Kings!

Yep. I still get pissed thinking about the screw job the NHL and the Rolling Stones did to the Kings last year with a back to back in Chicago and 3 games in 4 days. Complete horse ****. I know this turnaround is tight but the schedule this year is FAR better from a Kings perspective.

The Ducks just looked so shaky at home after the Games and down the stretch.

So as shaky as the Kings? :) The Kings can't crap the bed at home this series like they have been. Post Olympic break home games have been generally disappointing. It's doubtful they'll get away with that again in round 3.

On an unrelated note - what a breath of fresh air Pearson has been. His speed is incredible. 70's line has been awesome.

Canucks beat us and the next year we returned the favor. Sharks beat us and the next year we returned the favor. Hawks beat us and the next year...

Hey, I never thought of this.... This is a .... GOOD thought!!!! :D

That's right, we beat the Canucks with Kopitar's leg broken, huh? Totally forgot about that.....

:yo:

Encouraged by Carter's effort last night. He had the speed back we saw early in the playoffs. Maybe he is starting to Reid himself of whatever injury he has been carrying.

Secondary scoring will be key for the Kings.

Hope to see Mitchell and/or Regehr back at some point during this series. Schultz had done a good job filling in. He has kept his game simple and it's working for him. Greene has been alright as well.

It's been a heck of a ride so far, hope it continues.

Off to Chicago. Good news, Gaborik's on the plane :)

Another saving grace for the Kings? They just had two 7 game series against fast, skilled teams like Chicago. The Sharks played the Kings the first 2 games like the Hawks did last playoffs, and the Kings made the adjustments.

If the Hawks were smart they would put Toews line up against Kopi's. If not, Handzus will get eaten alive.
I think that's how the series will go. It'll be a battle on two levels--the top lines will duel, and my guess is that they'll probably come out about even. The difference will be the bottom 9 on each side.

Man you guys are a lot more optimistic than I. Hopefully the kings use that underdog mentality to their advantage and give Chicago a tougher time this year. If the Kings manage to win this series and not take anymore serious injuries, they'll win the cup.

Marian Gaborik.

Makes all the difference in the world. The Kings lost three of those games last year by one goal. I think the additions of Gaborik and Pearson and having Carter at C will be enough to make up for it. Plus the Kings are actually getting offense from the bottom six.

Chicago is the best team in the league, in my view, but I think we're coming into the series playing better this year. While we've gone seven games both times, I think we've beaten tougher opponents this year than last year. Also, we've beaten teams that play similarly to the Hawks, with speed and skill.
