Realistically we have to win tomorrow though. We're probably not going to win more than one in their barn, 4 in a row, or a game 7 in their building, so tomorrow it is.
TBH I don't think the Kings are phased by being on the road at all, we have an excellent road team.
If the Kings take it to Game 7, it is a 50/50 tossup IMO. I don't think Chicago is better than us, but we are very closely matched.

I'm tired of this defeatist attitude versus the Blackhawks.

Yes, that is a screen shot of the LA Kings official Android app.

This. The kings were really banged up in last years series, and the kings have sucked in the regular reason for a while now. Last game was won on a bounce. Kings missed their chances but it was nothing like last year where Chicago was on another level.

Kings can win this series just as easily as the hawks. It's a coin flip. Previous regular season games or any games in the prior years don't mean jack right now.

This. I think too many of us and them are buying into the big bad Blackhawks theory.

This series is a difference maker. If we were to make it past them (which seems a lot more possible this year than last) and go on to take it all this year, how much would really be standing between us and Chicago? We have the chance to prove we are on their level by taking them down now before they get too far out ahead. If I'm aware of this I have to think Sutter and the boys are too. With so much on the line, this is the perfect time for the Kings to step up and solidify themselves as leaders in the league. And this team, this year more than any, has shown they know how to perform when it's all on the line.

Looking forward to getting this done in 6 or 7 and proving the Kings are nobody's *****. AINEC.

I think Kings in 6.

I don't think the Hawks are better than us. They got a lucky bounce. And if Alisa says we're good, then we're good.

How did I overlook this gem? Alisa just eloquently put what I've been saying for years - **** the Hawks.

So Sutter said Toews is better than Kopitar. Is he trying to get Kopitar's ass fired up?

Doubt it works. When you say it almost every game. It sort of holds no weight any more.

It's quite pathetic.

Many will disagree, but I think Sutter is one of the best coaches I've ever seen at dealing with the media. Especially during the post-season.

His comments about Toews are obviously calculated. I don't think they have anything to do with motivating Kopitar/Richards.

Sutter understands that you never want to give your opponents anything to rally around. If anything you want them to rest on their laurels. And sometimes by over-praising a player, you put the spotlight on them, and maybe just a tiny bit of pressure to live up to the praise seeps in.

I totally agree. He may sound goofy, but he's very measured/calculated.

Not only that, but it works. The media was all over Jesus Gibson last round. What happened? He and the rest of the team collapsed under pressure. You can decide if you want to give credit to Sutter for that but the bottom line is he deflected the attention and the pressure to those guys. Whether or not it had an impact I guess is anecdotal.

But I do think he does it to motivate the players as well. The players themselves make these remarks like "we know they are the best team so we have to be our best in order to have a chance". They have carried the underdog mentality since 2010.

I figured it was a challenge to Kopitar much in the way he challenged Quick with Kiprusoff comments in the past. Sutter definitely loves to use the media to challenge his players and team with calculated comments like these, which I love.

Remember earlier when I said this series is a test for the Los Angeles Kings? This is an even bigger test directly aimed at Darryl Sutter, whether to honor his past as a Blackhawk alumnus to put that euphemistically versus to honor his present as Head Coach of and Stanley Cup Champion with the Los Angeles Kings.
