Hope Carter has his dental insurance up to date. He'll probably need some new teeth after this one.

Also guys need to keep their heads up. Don't need Richards getting another head shot.

For the love of god someone hit Kane hard enough to send him back to when his mullet was cool.

edit: and this year I won't be roped into watching the Kings/Hawks series with my friends in-laws from Chicago. Man my friends mother in-law was explaining to me that the Hawks have "depth" last year... yeah...

That's ****ing brutal.

2011 Canucks beat us and the next year we returned the favor. 2010 Sharks beat us and 2 AND 3 years later we returned the favor. 2013 Hawks beat us and the next year ...

I like where you're going with this ! :yo:

Forwards look way better this year for the Kings. Unfortunately D looks way worse. I know one thing, the Kings can't wait around until the elimination games to start playing against the Hawks. You might get away with that against the Sharks or a young Ducks team but the Hawks are gonna bury you if you let that happen, as they showed last year.

Pretty amazing, we beat the fastest team in NHL. Just knowing that makes me feel more confident that we can handle the Hawks too if we play like this.

No division champs in NHL Conference Finals for first time since the 1993 playoffs.

1993... rings a bell.

Also, no team has ever played more than 26 games in the playoffs, win or lose (only 2 have played 26), so while I'll certainly take a series win however it comes, it's a bit nuts to ponder yet another NHL record falling - particularly that one. 27 or 28 games after coming back from a 3-0 series deficit? Holy mother.

We have played 3 of my 4 most hated teams (Vancouver being the 4th), Chicago is #1. Let's win this please, I couldn't stand losing to these guys again.

I think it will help that the adjustments we made for games six and seven against the Ducks are what we will need to do against the Hawks: gotta slow the game dow and take away space in the neutral and defensive zones. Getting Mitchell back in place of Greene would be huge, though I really wonder if that's who Sutter will take out. I can absolutely see him deciding that it's Martinez that needs to sit.

I had to go to Chicago while they were playing Boston for the Cup last year.

....I hate Chicago!

I'm not concerned about the Kings gas tank at this point. It seems like they're getting stronger and hopefully, healthier. Let's face it, last year the Kings were physically worn out with injuries and they scraped by in both series to get to the WCF. Eeking out victories because they couldn't score. This year, it's taken the Kings 7 games in each round, but they're not bloodied. They ended each series with a friggin' bullet. The feeling is much different this time around. With any luck, Mitchell will be back and that would be huge. Add in the fact that so far the Kings have avoided headhunters who take out our top centermen ...Raffi on Stoll and Bolland on Richards. Losing Richards for 3 games in last year's WCF was a huge factor when Kopi was struggling so badly.

This time around, it'll be a different Kings team. The Kings can now score on the rush. With the additions of Gabbo and to a lesser extent, Pearson, that gives the Kings a dimension the Hawks haven't seen from them outside of Carter. The Kings lost in 5 last season, but those were all tightly contested games and it was just excruciating because our best players were pretty much MIA for most of the postseason. Not so this year. You've got 3 lines producing offense. Kopi and Gabbo have been magic. For as injured as Carter has looked, he still has 11 points with the kids on his line. Willie has been great with Stoll. Playoff Doughty is back and Quick is Quick. I don't think our guys look tired at all. I think they look energized. The Kings will have to show and prove, but I feel much better about this team's chances than I did last year.

It's interesting to see that Hossa and Seabrooke are leading the Hawks with 11 pts each. Both with 2 goals and 9 assists. We need to cover them close and not let them make plays to Toews and Kane. Handzus only has 2 pts and is minus 4! Hjalmersson is a minus 3. Both of them were good against us last year.

Shaw being out and Sharp playing hurt play into the Kings favor. Kopitar was not
himself last year and was playing hurt. Our top 3 players (Kopitar, Doughty, Quick)
are all in beast mode and that will continue.

Adding Gaborik will make the difference this time around. Muzzin is better than
last year and we didnt have Pearson. With Richards playing better, that factors
in as well. Clifford has even stepped up and will need that to continue, as this
is going to be another physical battle.

Swim like lions through the crest and bathe ourselves on Blackhawk flesh...

Hoping they can ride the momentum and steal game 1, then have 2 days off to rest.

Is it safe to say Nolan is gone by next season? Move a young guy up to take his place?

He's signed through next season, with only a 700,000 cap hit. I can see them moving him. Scott Sabourin is the RW in Manch that would be the one to take his spot and
I don't think he's quite ready. I think Vey, Shore and Andreoff are closer, but none of them are RWs.

now we have a LW backlog?

I know, that's crazy. Pearson has made the jump. With Zykov, Prokhorkin , Mersch,
and Andreoff, LW is now the deepest in the organ-eye-zation. Zykov can also play RW.

I think the Kings go for a center for their top pick this year, especially since Richards may not be able to be #2 center, going forward. DL covets centers and defensemen.

With Vey, Weal, Shore and Dowd as the top centers in the ranks, that is a little weak. Adding McNabb and the emergence of Nick Ebert,
the defensemen depth chart took a step forward. Ebert has 69 points this year (playoffs included) and was plus 50 something.
They can say they draft the best player, but I bet we see the Kings take a center with their top pick - or maybe even trade up to
get one they covet.

Revenge time! I know the boys remember last year. Hawks were dirty last year in the WCF and Kings were dropping like flies. Hawks fans seem to think we will be a cake walk for them, let's show them what the Sharks and Ducks already learned: we do not go away quietly.
