I agree with this. While the defensemen coming up from Ontario played well positionally for the most part, but they didn't move the puck effectively out of the zone.

It's probably one of the toughest things for a defenseman to learn. He has to read the play so as not to get his breakout pass picked off, then he has to execute a crisp breakout pass to a forward in stride. Anything less and the puck doesn't move faster than the other team can skate.

You didn't list the reason for your edit! Infraction!

Take 2, 17. Think about your mistake, then join the boys on the ice.

I think Colorado has very little in the way of veteran leadership. When things started heading south these kids just couldn't right the ship.

The chances of them rebounding, given their ages, has a much higher probability over a longer period of time than Anze Kopitar rebounding and sustaining it.

You brought the Avs players into it, I didn't.

It goes both ways. I am highly critical of the contract Kopitar received from the Kings. You defend him at almost every turn. You can stop as well.

I can assure you I am not being deliberately obtuse. You just need to make a better point, or I will refute what you post.
LOL dang, nail on the head.

Let me make it clear as day. Not going to ask it as a question anymore since that's an opportunity for you to twist.

The entire roster outside of very few exceptions underperformed. That is fact by the eye test and metrics. The only reason for you to be stubborn about that is deliberate. I brought the Colorado players into it as they are a clear example of roster underperformance and the idea that a new coach can infuse some energy.

But keep patting yourself on the back for creating arguments out of thin air so you can cite an article that only peripherally had to do with the point.

Not sure what you are talking about. You made a point, which I countered. You asked a question and I answered it. It's not my problem if you don't like the contents of the answer. I didn't twist anything.

Any argument involving Kopitar and the Kings performance this season isn't coming out of thin air.

Good lord, man. You took a phrase about coaching and roster performance and turned it into a non-sequitur rant about Kopitar and age. At least own it

If you wanted to be less transparent about it, you could have at least circled back around and talked about the entire roster being older than Colorado's which would have fit the narrative, but then I'd bring up Toffoli, and around we'd go.

Anyway the point is--and I don't think you disagree about this part--we have to see what we can get out of the roster with a new coach and situation before we start throwing dirt on player caskets.

I'm fine with getting a new GM if it's Futa, or someone else qualified other than Blake. Also fine with getting a new coach, if they are selected by the new GM.

If as is rumored Lombardi has already signed an extension for one year to match Sutter's deal, then we may not see any management changes.

For me the players and the coaching are only partially linked. See, I think the players should earn their paychecks. If a player wants the benefits of a cap crushing contract, he has to accept the responsibility that comes with it.

I do think it's time to move Carter, Muzzin or Martinez, or maybe both. This team is not a contender, and if you are not a contender in the NHL and one of the oldest teams, then it's obvious what needs to be done.

Again, you brought up the Colorado players and tried to link them to the Kings under performers. Not sure why you did it, because it was a non sequitur. All I did was point it out.

Not sure how any company can reward failure by bringing back Lombardi and Sutter, I can only imagine the morale of the players knowing we have another year of this regime. This would mean there is ZERO accountability on the Kings and you can do whatever you want and you're good. More scoreless first periods? More grind the corners, pass to a stationary dman who shoots wide or the shot is blocked? More Lewis playing more minutes than Kempe? More quotes about how this is a 2-1 league or how it was a tough barn? I might need a strait jacket.

you forgot to add more of Nick Shore being thrown out as the 6th attacker....cause you know there will be plenty of that.

You can replace Lombardi and Sutter. I simply said it is rumored Lombardi's contract was extended. Where is the accountability for the players?
