From Dooley:

"KINGS VITALS: Below is tonight’s expected game group against Vegas –

Forwards (13) – Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Lias Andersson, Martin Chromiak, Jacob Doty, Kevin Fiala, Samuel Helenius, Adrian Kempe, Anze Kopitar, Rasmus Kupari, Tyler Madden, Alan Quine, Akil Thomas, Gabe Vilardi
Defensemen (6) – Frederic Allard, Mikey Anderson, Brandt Clarke, Alex Edler, Jacob Moverare, Jordan Spence
Goaltenders (3) – Pheonix Copley, Jacob Ingham, Cal Petersen

As was the case yesterday, the team is expected to travel with one extra skater and in today’s case, an additional goaltender as well.

Today’s group will give us our first look at the team’s top forward line, with the trio of Kevin Fiala, Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe all projected to be in tonight’s lineup and they should skate together in Vegas. Beyond those three will be a group of forwards on the roster bubble, fighting for spots, as well as a few individuals playing in back-to-back games. On the backend, regulars Mikey Anderson and Alex Edler are slated to make their preseason debuts as the leaders of that unit."

Morning Lines –

Fiala - Kopitar - Kempe
Vilardi - Kupari - Madden
Andersson - Anderson-Dolan - Thomas
Quine - Helenius - Kemp

Anderson - Spence
Edler - Clarke
Moverare - Allard

Who's job is it to pound the shit out of that Vegas punk who ran Clarke? And someone send a memo to the coaches to keep Clarke off the ice the final 2 minutes.

The Fagemo talk has reminded me of Fox's old interview on @All The Kings Men when he said he thought Fagemo might out produce Turcotte in the NHL. The whole Turcotte is a 3C on a cup team interview. That Arvidsson slot is the most interesting question going into camp in my mind along with what happens to Clarke.
Yeah, i get the feeling that the FO would like nothing more than Fagemo to win that spot and be the guy to take over Arvi's role next year. That would be great if he does.
But i just feel like GV is finally going to make the turn and will force the Kings (for the good) hand. Whether that be during TC, start of season, mid-season...whatever. I think he's going to show he's ready to be an impact player and something valuable/needed on this team as a winger with a great shot (that doesn't hit the goalie or the glass in front of the fan in the 2nd row).

Yo what time is the game ?

Trade Durzi Right Friggin Now!
:sarcasm:
You kidd, but if they can get a good return for Durzi they probably should move him.

I say this as someone who loves Durzi.

But Spence and Clarke with both likely be better players.

I would say trade Roy, but we don't really have another Dman of his ilk on the left side to make up for his absence.

Durzi has something both those guys don't have, BALLS! He won't back down, and has no problem sticking up for his teammates .

Good point,

I think teams (and certainly fans) get to emotionally attached to prospects and never want to see any of them moved even though there are limited spots available and these guys depreciate so quickly. I had some issues with the center obsession between 2017 and 2020, but it wouldn’t have been a big issue had management just moved a couple of them to address areas elsewhere but not only did they not move any, they signed an NHL one and traded a 2nd for another young one, contributing to this massive log jam. Once they signed Danault last summer they should have moved one, and probably two of Vilardi, Kupari, Turcotte, JAD, Lias and Thomas. (QB only if it was in a deal for a very good player)

The RHD log jam was just as bad, they at least traded one (a player I was pretty attached to and think very highly of) at the peak of his value for a 1st liner. That was quality asset management, although one wonders how much Faber’s own interests forced their hand.

I to am a big Durzi fan, he provided some nice swagger as a wal-mart Doughty last season, but now Doughty is back and your best prospect who might be NHL ready is also a RH d-man.

It comes down to what’s a better move for the organization and specifically a high-ceiling potential star in Clarke vs a lower caliber player on Durzi. It’s not unlike when they kept Vilardi up and had QB in the minors. Did that really work out for anyone? I just worry that the fear of moving on from Durzi could be a factor in Clarke going back to the OHL which may not be an optimal development path. Also with a lesser role this season with the return of Doughty it’s unlikely Durzi’s value will ever be higher than it is now. Maybe use it to address organizational weaknesses in goal and on the wing and open up a spot for a big part of your future.

And again for the dishonest takes people on this board, it doesn’t mean he is bad or is a bust. But players have to be looked at as moveable assets.

Yeah the whole point of having a good system isn't to keep them all, but to gain capital. It's been a bit funky with COVID and injuries, but the cupboard is out of space for mugs.

Ideally you move prospects for upgrades in the right age group, but there is nothing wrong with kicking the can down the road either, if you can get a 2nd rounder for one of them and it's the best you can get, you do it.

We're basically at the event horizon for some of these guys now and will be on quite a few more next year.

Blake is gonna devalue them on time alone if things don't start shaking out.

If Byfield goes to Ontario to make room for Nate f***ing Thompson there will be no doubt in my mind that Rob Blake is a Ducks fan.
Lol of course only this franchise would do that. Nate f***ing Thompson of all people. Brutal.

You guys aren't really worried that Thompson tryout is anything other than a professional courtesy? There's no chance Thompson beats out someone like JAD.

Is there?

You guys are smoking some good ish if you think Nate Thompson will supplant some of these other guys. He's 37 years old, had 3 points in 33 games last year with Philadelphia and was a -15. Professional courtesy - yes.

Apparently Mayor McCheesedick said it on his fraudcast so it’s being talked about in here. No f***ing way it’s for real.

As a ride or die fantasy owner of Fiala, he’s likely going to score 25 in his first half season, and 50 in the second half. Works for me, as our offense often tails off around the new year.
