I think the Kings were hoping Gabo would have retired by now.
Not when he's getting a real salary in each of the years on his contract. I'd be shocked if he wasn't here through April of 2021. It would be a ridiculous stroke of good luck if he wasn't.
I think they were banking on injuries to decide for Gabo. They guy is injury prone.
Not sure about that. They didn't have to give him the contract extension.
Seven years though, for a 32 year old(when he signed deal) with injury history.
If Lombardi expected Gabo to play that out, and be productive. He has lost all sanity.
I think he was banking on 3-4 years of productivity and then the Kings would be trending down and it wouldn't matter.
