Yes, in two of his last three seasons, Giroux has missed quite a few games. He isn't going to age well.
Which seasons?
2021-22: 75 games
2020-21: 54 games (Philly played 69)
2019-20: 69 games

He's missed 35 games the past 3 seasons (including missing only 7 this season). If you go back the last 6 seasons, he's missed 35.

There are a few scenarios here. Blake walks away from Edler and Maata and signs a physical LH D to pair with Durzi. In this scenario though, Blake has to make a decision on Walker or Bjornfot. One of those players will not be the 7th D. I would lean toward them keeping Bjornfot because he is a LHD.

Scenario 1:
Doughty-Anderson
Walker/Bjornfot-Roy
Durzi-Chiarot or Zadarov

Scenario 2:
Doughty-Anderson
Chychrun-Durzi
Bjornfot-Roy

Kings make a trade for a player like Chychrun and pair him with a puck moving RH D - Durzi. Then they slide Bjornfot down with the steady Roy to make a decent 3rd pair both playing on their natural side. The only issue with this option is the Kings D doesn’t get much bigger. Unless they sign a number 7 D who can really play physical and rotate in occasionally.

I like Edler but the dude is 36. Maata was the whipping boy last year and turned it around this year but not worth signing.

Kings need to move on from the players that don’t add anything. You either put the puck in the net on D and make plays or you play physical. Maata and Edler really don't do either very well. Edler used to do both very well, 10 years ago.

Also, no thanks on Soucey. This dude has two fighting majors and got beat up by Getzlaf and Tanner Pearson. You want a tough D, get Vince Dunn. He knocked out Kurtis Gabriel in the hallway in the A.

It will be 2 more years before Kings will be real contenders
This seriously. Even if Byfield finds his next gear and Clark kills it in camp and makes the team, we’re not contenders in 2023. 2024 is a different matter. If we go after Forsberg, we can focus our significant trade pieces on a top 4 LHD AND goalie. The only young players I do not consider as trade bait are Byfield, Clark and Kupari. How were the 3 hopefuls supposed to grow when they were getting 6 Minutes a game playin 3rd line shifts

Good LD that might be available
Theodore, Vgk in cap hell, not trading in division
Chychrun
Provorov
Ghostbeer (is he good?)
OEL
Nic Hague (offersheet, but that's not happening)
Nate Schmidt
Soucy

I would love a Sergachev, Werenski, Romanov, they're just not available for trade. Kings could trade for a younger D like Buffalo's Mattias Samuelson or Wpg, Logan Stanley or wait to see if Kirill comes over in the near future. In the meantime we have Bjorn & Mikey around 0.11 PPG. The LD market is literally so bad that OEL isn't that bad of an option.

After watching Oilers get multiple breakaway goals, even an injured Draisaitl, not interested in guys like Zadorov. We need snarl, but he is just too slow.

always thought Ghostbierre was a good player....just has a big contract. Always comical as to how many Flyers players ink a huge deal and then immediatly get traded. Carter and Richards come to mind- along with Ghost Im sure there are a bevy of others.

So we want the offensive dman who got over 60% offensive zone starts at ES and was a -21 with it, not the bigger, more physical defensive dman who was +7 with a far more dzone starts at ES, and who out-goaled the aforementioned offensive dman, because that guy once assaulted somebody in a hallway?

All Utah cares about is their fight card. Always has and probably always will.

Screw it, let's blow it smithereens,

Trade Kempe, Arvidsson, Danault, Moore, (as a line, imagine that) Durzi, Roy, Turcotte, Vilardi, Walker, Grans, 2022 1st, 2023 1st

Bring in: Chycrun, Provorov (why not get both) Crouse, Bertuzzi, JT Miller, and sign Forsberg

Bertuzzi - Kopitar- Kaliyev
Forsberg - Byfield - Crouse
Grundstrom - JT Miller - Kupari
Lemieux - Lizotte - Fagemo

Doughty - Andersson
Spence - Provorov
Walker - Bjornfoot

That way everyone is either happy or sad.....

over the last 1+ year, there have been these rumors out there about the Kings inquiring about Tyler Bertuzzi and even Brady Tkachuk. If the vax / quarantine mandate changes in Canada, maybe they try to get Bertuzzi..but that would also be a reason for Yzerman to keep him.

I think Blake is not going to go after just signing a Nichushkin, Burakovsky, type, but go for a bigger prize this offseason. Maybe Forsberg or Gaudreau. He could work the cap to make it happen, if he dealt Iafallo or Petersen.

It would be a shock, if he tried to get Brady Tkachuk, or a top young player in a deal.
It would cost a lot, like Byfield, Chromiak, Bjornfot + #1 2022. I'd rather not do that,
but would no kick and scream. I don't think the Sens trade their 22 yr old capt.
I would actually perhaps rather want Josh Norris, from the Sens.

The Kings were in the Eichel and Chychrun rumors as well.
I truly think Blake wants to get a blue chip player this Summer.
I think they are not wanting to part with Byfield, Kaliyev, Chromiak or Clarke
and would prefer to move Vilardi, Kupari, Turcotte (who has little value and no one would give much for him, so he will stay) Madden, JAD, Fagemo, Durzi, over those 4. BUT, I think he may be willing to deal any of them,
for the marquee target. I think they would also want to keep Akil Thomas, as he's on the rise, since being healthy, but would certainly trade him in a package for a marquee target. I don't think they would want to deal Bjornfot, but the same - would part with him for the right target. I think with Mikey Anderson's physical game emeging, he's higher on the LHD slots.

Just have a feeling they are going to land a big fish.
Schiefele? Fiala? Laine? Boeser? Offer sheet Josh Norris?
Or even Nazem Kadri?

King's can start contending as soon as they add a LD on the second pair with Roy & adds to that 3rd line. 3rd line needs to be able to defend against 1st lines on the road. Is that a Forsberg, Trocheck, JT Miller, nino that gets the line there? A goalie would help too, but might be stuck with Quick getting hot for the playoffs another year or two.

Speaking of 'Offer Sheets'. I know it's very much frowned upon in the NHL. Has there been many/any sign & trades for such players instead? That way it's a win-win situation...and also the team losing the RFA gets players back (if they prefer) over simply future draft picks. I don't recall hearing about this option being used. Maybe I haven't paid attention -- or maybe there's something in the rule book for RFAs preventing that from happening.

Chycrun must be on IR, seems accurate.

I'd love to see them make a move for a Kevin Fiala. But to do it, they may have to move out Iafallo.
