He's not great, but he's better, and he's hell of playmaker.

Brian Little is awesome too.

Henrique is good too.

Tampa wouldn't move Filppula. He has a history with Stevie Y going back to their Detroit days.

Little is solid but you would have to add to any deal for him, or Henrique for that matter.

If the Kings still have that freebie buyout, it must be used on Richards even if they wanted to keep him. That contract is just terrible in general regardless.

Henrique ?

Lay off the drinks man.....

Only way he is coming out Jersey, Toffoli is going the other way.

But would Winnipeg let Little go for a struggling Richards when they're on that borderline of being a playoff team?

We let go of Schenn and Simmonds for Richards leadership and winning history. So You never know. Sure it has to be a pretty solid offer for the Jets. You never know what their GM is looking for. Brian Little has no experience. Richards does. Some GMs value that a lot. Hard to say if the value is there though. But it's possible.

That's not legal in the new CBA though is it? I didn't think a team could use a compliance buyout then resign the player for cheaper.

Can't that's a CBA violation.

Also the buyout is not free and clear.

The Kings will still owe 25% of Richards contract towards the Cap for the life of the original contract.

If I understand it correct.

Richards+1st for a top 6 center.

Thats actually a good package.

Why do you need to take a top 6 for a contender? A team on the downside/ specially a young core would do that.

Filpulla maybe. Probably a better package. But filpulla is good.

Would you trade Filppula for Richards and a 1st? What does that do for Tampa Bay?

At this point, a team would be doing the Kings a giant favor in taking Richards, right? That's why we're all over him, because he's been bad.

If you're trading Richards, you probably have to retain half his salary, and then add to that, to get any player of any sort of worth, let alone a top 6 center, which don't grow on trees, which is why the Kings had to part with Simmonds and Schenn in the first place.

terrible like, David Clarkson terrible? or like, Dion Phaneuf terrible?
i think Richy is just having a really, really, really bad year. if he doesnt get it together next season then maybe management should starting spitballing ideas

Yes I know. I know Richards a lone wouldn't fetch a top 6 center. It has to be a package. For filpulla it's gotta be a big one.

I think the Jets signed Little to a long term deal. They would be more inclined to deal Kane at this point, at least from what some reports and fans have mentioned. Apparently he's a bit of a handfull.

After next season, he can't be bought out.

I'm not saying re-sign him. I'm saying it'd be worth it to buy him out even if they wanted him on the team still simply because of how bad it is.

Oh okay, my mistake then. I 100% agree though, DL might love Richards to death but he's also gotta look ahead to 5 years from now and how that contract could still be hurting the team while a 35 year old Richards is looking like Ryan Smyth on the ice.

Ryan Smyth actually had a really good year.

I'd be leaning on Dion Phaneuf terrible. He's not completely worthless like Clarkson, but I think he's drifting further from the beneficial side of the table and even if he was playing alright, that's a long time to hold onto the guy.

Man these guys don't want it, Even Williams sounds soo bored.

These guys don't want it, that one Cup win seems enough.

Ussually Williams has some spirited post game pressers.

J-Dub was like (Eh we lost big deal).

Brown looked the same.
