I wonder how long DL will be GM of the kings. Ever since it was revealed he offered Hextall for GM sort of made me wonder if he's done with GM duties. Just interesting.

I'm gonna discuss this from a technical viewpoint. The entire league knows to shoot high on Quick. In past years the Kings played so tight nobody had the time to shoot high. Opponents just took any shot available and it was usually a quick low shot. Now, the Kings are trying to open it up a little since they got Gabby. Kings, they got smaller, they got older, they got slower and the Sharks know it. Using the Blackhawks blueprint, they beat the Kings with transition and speed. When you let guys skate in open ice they can get the time to shoot high and Quick was beaten high just about every time.

It's great that we got Gabby, but I'm a proponent of boring, grind it out hockey. The Kings thought they can skate with the Sharks. I guess they were proven dead wrong! Keep the puck in front of you. Manage the puck. Keep the game low scoring and hopefully our game breakers like Kopi, Gabby, Carter, and Doughty can win it at the end.

Except that those two games in St.Louis were both close, not absolute embarassments

No way in hell. Dean is here for a bit longer.

At least I can take solace in watching Alex Curry eat pizza. Oddly aroused.

On Defense BIG TIME.

Green, Regher, Mitchell are all on the downside of their careers. Just not sure who we can get to get back to being legit contenders. Our defense is definitely gonna have to change cuz it's not working for sure.

They should be willing. Brown really manned up in 2012 and helped us win the cup, and I think a lot of people will always remember him for that. But, it's also a business and I just see his game degrading over the next few years.

That's fair.. Personally I'd give him at least one more year. He missed most of training camp with an injury if I recall correctly, that put him behind the ball right from the start. Now he should definitely be caught up by now but even good players have off years. I remember Sharks fans wanting Marleau gone at one point too. In the end he even got stripped of his captaincy but he turned it around. Good players turn it around and I'd be willing to give Brown some time to see if he figures it out.

He actually pointed out the differences in the series. But hey with cut off cherry picked partial quotes like that you could work for the LA Times.

Random but if the Kings do move Richards it would be for a top 6 center. For Richards +

The only reason the Kings would trade Richards is because he isn't a top 6 center anymore. Why do you think they would get one back for him? Considering his play, production, and contract, what would that + have to be to get a top 6 center in return?

You have to develop them.

Gravel/Forbort/McNabb. It's going to be a little painful on the blue-line next year.

Forbort taking so long, the lack of 1st round picks, and Hickey/Tuebert not panning out has really hurt the Kings.

Futa and staff did a really good job landing Gravel.

Now just need to sign him, not signing Gravel......Would be a disaster for the Kings.

Heidi eating a hot dog is better.

Richards+1st for a top 6 center.

Thats actually a good package.

No because a team desperate enough to be interested in Richards don't have a top 6 center to spare. If he's traded I'm guessing it's gonna be for a salary dump, a depth player and a pick/prospect.

Well, we know that Doughty, Muzzin, Voynov, Martinez, Regehr and McNabb are all under contract. Don't know if the latter two will be regulars in the lineup, but Regehr is at that point in his career where he needs to be used sparingly.

I think they need another big minute eater to play alongside Doughty and maybe bump everyone down to a more appropriate spot on the D pairings. I know Voynov has had a down year but he can bounce back. I just hope Martinez and Muzzin continue to improve and get stronger and prove that they belong as regulars as part of what was considered the best defensive team in the league (until the playoffs).

Seriously what has happened to Mike Richards? Wow I'm absolutely baffled! He has completely disappeared!

From what i've read, sounds like Bodnarchuk is ready to make the jump. Also Mcnabb has NHL experience. Anything right now is an improvement over this D corps.

Plus Voynov did good coming up. MIght as well give some players a shot.
