Seriously what has happened to Mike Richards? Wow I'm absolutely baffled! He has completely disappeared!

Not sure, but I think his game was having a bit of a revival on the 4th line then we stick him back into the 2nd line center spot for the playoffs and it's not paying off. He's a pricey 4th liner, but for the hopes of this season he should be down there. It also makes him a threat.

I'd still be in favor of keeping Mitchell as a 3rd pairing defenseman. He isn't what he used to be but still decent in a Sean O'Donnell-type role as a mentor and penalty killer.

Not at 3 million he isn't .......Maybe 1 million.

I missed what Jim Fox said post-game. Does anyone know where I can watch or read it?

I'm a loss for words. I've never seen the team play like this. Not only is it shocking, but its disappointing. It just seems like a lot of guys are going through the motions right now. It looks like the only guys that care are Lewis and Kopi. And I have always been a supporter of Richards even though he has had a horrible year, but his time is done. Williams.... I don't know what to say about him. Gaborik was a complete no show.

But this loss isn't on the forwards. This was entirely on the defense. If I was a new hockey fan and somebody told me the kings were the #1 defensive team during the regular season, I would have laughed at him. That was complete and utter **** tonight.

Matt Greene. Than you for your services in 2012. I will always remember that, but your time here in LA is done.

The Kings will likely keep one of Mitchell or Greene. It does depend on what's even available out there.

If we're talking a big retooling for the defense, we're not keeping Gaborik. He will just cost too much.

Even buying out Richards, don't we still eat some of that?

Game 3, 4, and if it gets there 6 are must wins. They have 2 more shots at San Jose on the road.

It's an ugly picture but not hopeless.

Played good teams in January: sucked.

Played garbage after the Olympics: awesome.

This team is a steI'd p below the elite teams and has been all year. Really needs a youthful injection of skill up firstfroundront and on the blue line. Good thing everyone has a ten year contract.

Can't even get a fight in a 7-2 playoff loss. Pathetic. If Clifford isn't going to take a run or drop the gloves then why is he here?

They are getting beaten in the alley and on the ice. Embarrassing. Only excuse that holds water for me is that they have played more hockey than anyone the last two seasons. Every great franchise has first round exits on their resume, including Chicago 2x in the last four years. Fully expected a loss this series going in but the way it is going down is an embarrassment.

Hate the guy, but Kevin Bieksa would be someone I would possibly enquire about. Who knows what is going to happen in Vancouver this offseason. Chris Tanev is another.

Wouldn't hurt to see what the price could be.

When you're getting absolute throttled on the road by 7-2, the last thing I want to see is some stupid neanderthal plays by a fourth line plug.

For who? You're not gonna get a top center from any of the contenders for that.

Why do you need to take a top 6 for a contender? A team on the downside/ specially a young core would do that.

Filpulla maybe. Probably a better package. But filpulla is good.

Bieksa has a NTC and has said numerous times he would not waive it AT ALL to leave Van.

Bieksa loves Van and so does his family.

They don't call him Casual Kev for no reason. No thanks.

I will say it again,

Since Jamie Kompon has left, the forwards have been terrible on breaking up breakouts from opposing teams.

Davis Payne has been an awful coach if you ask me.

Very much agree. We've gotten outcoached heavy. A lot of this is on the players, but for the first time since he's been here, I'm laying these two games heavily on the coaching staff, on everything from the lineups to the scouting. The Sharks look like a team that have been prepping for this series since december. We look like the team that got drunk the night before and showed up to have our teeth kicked in. When we get picked apart systematically, that's coaching. I haven't seen so many oddman breaks since Crawford. Every turnover turns into one, lead passes are area passes meant to spring footraces, and evem their shot choices are not just high on Quick, they are cross passes in the high slot before a shot meant to take advantage of his aggressiveness.

Probably the most embarrassed I've been as a fan. Been a fan since 90 and this takes the cake. I expect us to lose but to do it like this?

Fake tough team right now. Outroughed by a bunch of sissies. Outsmarted by a gang of buffoons. And outskilled by playoff choke artists.

**** happens all the time but this type of **** is rare to smell.

yep flat out embarassing and i thought game 1 was a wake up. this was absolute rock bottom not just in execution but in heart. im doubly embarassed that we didnt want to play with any fury until the game was long out of reach, thats bush league ********. especially richards spearing (which i never saw but he got =a 4 so we have to assume it was there).

We didn't get Hiroshima'd by St.Louis.

gotta admit this made me lol amidst all the sadness thamks

They are part of the problem with their turnovers, lack of possession, and with some terrible effort on the backcheck. Notice how many trailing forwards scored on the rush for the Sharks? All started with counter attacks due to the Kings' turning the puck over when they had possession. The forwards are a part of the problem.

yup.

Normally, I say let's park it and move on the the next game. This time around I am speechless.
I didn't get to watch the game due to some work event, and I glad I didn't have to sit through this embarrassing sparking by the Sharks.

I heard that some bad line changes lead to some goals. Is that true?

Don't see Tampa trading Filpulla ianytime soon, he's been a perfect #2 C behind Stamkos.

Little could be interesting though

But would Winnipeg let Little go for a struggling Richards when they're on that borderline of being a playoff team?

and I don't see the Devils letting Henrique go for Richards. They're just getting out of cap problems.
