Kings Lose 2-3 to Ducks in OT; Brown Lets Perry Live

The officiating tonight was ****ing awful, but the Kings lost this one on their own. I miss boring third period hockey and holding onto the lead.

This team desperately needs more speed. Can Martinez and Pearson make it in time?

Yep, not going to blame outside factors, this loss was on the Kings.

Needed the point, so whatevs. Better than zero. Would have been nice to be safer with two, but hell, they'll go into the next game and road trip with some major urgency. We weren't going to win them all.

Like I said in the GDT, complacency has set in with this roster.

I actually don't think so.
The Roster is simply full of holes.

The Kings still haven't replaced a 20 minute Crease clearing Defender in Mitchell.

Stoll/Richards are gone or declined so much it's shot the Center depth.

Missing a Top Six Winger (Pearson). Brown is not producing(that hurts with the amount of ice time he receives)

It's a lot of things, I don't think (caring) is a problem.

I'd like the Kings to try more back door plays. A lot of the Kings offense is to gain the puck and then pass out to the point for a shot. If there is no lane they just dump the puck back into the corner so the forwards can work it back to the point for a shot again. Rinse repeat.

The Kings have NO excuse to be tired. Nick Shore, Andreoff, Nolan, Clifford, Sekera, McNabb are all young guys whose legs should be fresh. None of those guys played deep into June the last 3 years? I understand Williams, Greene, Kopitar, Brown, Carter, Doughty, Quick etc but those young guys should be flying. This team is just slow, it's simple as that.

Awesome. Look at that ***** Despres. What a loser

He looks like a sea monkey.

The breakouts are slow,

It all starts from the D, the puck moves faster than players do. When the Kings look fast and heavy, the breakouts are coming fast with perfect passes.

Tomorrow's games to watch:

Washington at Minnesota
St. Louis at Winnipeg
Philadelphia at Calgary
Columbus at Vancouver

Highly unlikely that all of the home teams lose in regulation.

I was thinking this all night truly.

Me too. Watching King drag his carcass down the ice trying to stay up with Carter and Toffoli was painful to watch. He was once again totally invisible ...again on that line.

Did Shore even see a shift after the first Duck goal?

I'd venture to say the most people fretting over this team's playoff chances wouldn't be willing to bet real money against them making it. You know they will.

The Kings are coming off perhaps the most grueling season any team has EVER played. God forbid they play mediocre during the following regular season.

We have a great team. Tired of reading all the posts by the Chicken Little whiners.

Here's an alternative view--the Ducks bring their A game vs. the Kings and they're speedy. It's not complacency or being awful or whatever, it's just a pres. trophy level team that's really, really angry at us.

hate them all you want but show some respect for the opponent.

We know there's no 4v4 gimmick or shootout to save our opponents in the playoffs. We just have to make it there. Let them gloat for now.

King is especially awful against teams like this.

The Road trip coming up is brutal, Five in Eights days is ouch. Hopefully A-Mart is back soon, would be nice to see him on the ice again.

It's hard to be respectful to a team full of **********.

Here's to hoping the Kings are motivated on this trip. They sure shouldn't be complacent after this game.

Another bright side: The Kings gained 3 points on Calgary in 2 games. That would have been unheard of a week ago.

During the Eight game winning streak, I don't even think that happened. Crazy, the Kings gained a playoff spot the other night, without even playing a game.

Whacky season.
