Kings did not trade for Chychrun!

Tobias is a lot better than Hickey. Besides Bjornfot is like 21 years old and a 3 year pro in North America. Give him time maybe he becomes Lubo. Would rather he became a top 4 Dman that excelled defensively since the Kings seem to have a lot of Offense on Defense
Funny enough if we’d taken Hickey at 22OA and not left him in the AHL for too long, I think he’d have been a decent pick. Its not his fault that DL went so far off the board.

That said, I completely agree about Bjornföt. Given his age he’s not even close to his upside and if developed correctly he should be a very good player. I’m actually OK with him spending ‘some’ time in the AHL as he can then focus on his offensive skills and being more assertive in his play. He should be a decent PMD and given his age they have the opportunity to further develop that side of his game. If they make room for him this year back in the NHL it will depend very much on injuries and if they move somebody. I think he could do with a minimum of 15-20 AHL games, so if there’s an injury I wouldn’t even call him up until he’s had that time otherwise it’d made more sense to keep him up now IMO.

I have to think the plan would be for him to be on the starting NHL roster next year, if not they should definitely move him now.

As long as: QB, Clarke, Vilardi, Spence are not going anywhere...and if they deal 2 #1's? They must take Cal or give the Kings their #2 2023. I'd prefer to keep Arty, too. That leaves Kupari, JAD, Turcotte, Pinelli, Fagemo, Chromiak, Madden, Laferriere, Grans, Kirsanov, Helenius, Connor, Hughes, Thomas. I'd prefer to keep Kupari. He can be shut down for PK and has more upside to be a very valuable bottom 6. Think of it this way - many on the above list will never make it to top 6 here...so, how good can they be at bottom 6? Kupari is a great bottom 6, with hsi size, speed, skill, and 200 foot game. Most of the others will have to carve out a bottom 6 career and Kupari excels at it and will only get better.

Was interesting as soon as Lizotte left the ice and Kupari came on, that's when Fiala and he worked together and Iafallo scored. Kupari should be 3C and Lizotte 4C.
Kupari's offensive skillset above that of Lizotte's and will get better. Lizotte has hit his ceiling. (that ceiling is low and 5'7" ceiling too)

Moverare just sent down to Ontario opening a spot for Chychrun.

It's happening guys.
That honestly is interesting. Ontario does not play until Wednesday...what's the rush to get Moverare down and leave an opning on the Kings??? The Kings will need a 7th for Monday.

I fear it's going to be: #1 2023, Vilardi and ? Pinelli or Laferriere. Hope they can add Walker and get 1 other asset from Yotes.

Adding Chychrun doesn't upgrade one spot, it upgrades two spots; 2nd LHD, and 3rd RHD, because presumably Walker is going the other way as a cap dump. I'd like to see Durzi be part of the deal as well.

This season:
Anderson - Doughty
Chychrun - Roy
Edler - Spence

Next season:
Anderson - Doughty
Chychrun - Roy
Bjornfot - Clarke/Spence

Chickrens a nice player and would love to have him on our team, but as mentioned before by a few people here he's just too injury prone for me. If we gave up a '23 1st I'd be pretty disappointed. Yotes might get a good haul from us. '23 first, Turcotte, Spence, Fagemo, probably another pick and maybe even Vilardi. Is he worth it? Sheesh that's a lot for a player who's never played a whole season in his career. Secretly hoping it's not us getting him.

They move guys up and down constantly with no obvious rationale.

true and for cap reasons...but, the Kings will need a 7th tomorrow. It would make sense to keep Moverare up for that reason. If the Kings next game was Wednesday, send him down now and get a 7th back for Wednesday...but they need one in 24 hours.

Keep in mind any prospects we do trade to AZ will likely have failed careers because that is what the Coyotes development program produces, and are unlikely to trouble our consciences in the future.
So really just pity the guys we trade away and sigh wistfully as you imagine the career they might have had.

Spence is advanced enough to have success anywhere imo (please dont trade Spence)

If it costs us Gabe then it’s gonna hurt and then Spence would be the next biggest hit IMO.

I’d sooner see Kaliyev traded before Gabe.

First of all there should be no deal if QB or Clarke have to be included. Then the next tier of talent comes up and I think we need to assume that one of them are going to have to be included: GV, AK, Spence, Durzi (may be too old for Yotes). It would be ideal if a deal could be made not including one of them, but if it required one of them to get JC then I think Blake’s going to do it.

Then next level down I’m sure will be included too - Kupari, Turcotte, and any of the ones you showed.

Lastly we’re going to have to move salary so one of Roy or AI will need to be in there.

If it happens then it’s going to be painful but really needs to be done to give us balance. Just don’t include QB or Clarke and I think it’s a good move.

Oof. Not Clarke.

Gotta pay to play I guess and I REALLY like Chychrun but man that's a big player to deal. I was hoping Turcotte plus one of our D prospects (even Spence) plus a 1st type deal.

Barf Meow. ('barf me out', as my son at around age 5 thought it was)
No. Yannetti said the Kings have never had a player like Clarke and he was correct.
Clarke is like having a 4th forward on the attack (but the 1st or 2nd most skilled as he activates)
They had better get Vejmelka, or Yotes
take Petersen, if Clarke is going...wouldn't that make the cap about equal tradeoff?

Chychrun + Vejmelka
Clarke + Petersen + #2 2023

The Yotes would have Petersen (and no replacement for Chychrun) to help them secure 32nd place. They are currently 29th.

Honestly and not joking, losing Chychrun and Vejmelka and only adding Petersen, gives them a better shot to finish 32nd. They are 29th now. Better shot at Bedard...and even a better shot at Fantilli, etc. if don't win the lottery.

Maybe Yannetti fought to keep the #1 pick? (if they can keep that out of the deal) Maybe he knows there are targets around #20 that he likes as much as Clarke? And the Kings fill 2 holes now, with 2, 24-26 year old players on good contracts.
