So I know of the Merulos from a past job, I taught their brand officer (the owner's son) in a class. I also worked with their current chief of staff for hockey ops. They are really good people, lots of philanthropy and very successful.

One thing they aren't though, is unlimited pockets, and Merulo isn't used to failing on his ventures. He's not going to go broke, but he certainly isn't going to blindly pump a bunch of money into a franchise just to win. He's successful but doesn't have stupid amounts of money, so I expect this pattern to continue.
Man that’s really sucks for the team and the city..

They could do worse. It's gotta be really difficult to get anyone who is willing to dump a bunch of money in without the thought of making it back. They really need an owner like one of the groups from the middle east that buy premier league teams just as a pet project.

I think the response when they move into their new digs is going to be really telling about their immediate future in the desert. In the short-term it's not going to get any easier there either. Inflation is crazy there because so many are moving into that metro so even though it's cheaper people don't have money to spend.

Yup, the common thread among Yote fans is that management is struggling financially and is going broke or already very close to it
It's unbelievable that the Coyotes conned Tempe into building an arena for them. Well at least ASU's basketball team will be getting a nice new arena to play in when it is finished.

He also brings endless breadsticks.
Never chew the wafer!
