Kings did not trade for Chychrun!

There are seven teams within 6 points of each other battling for the last two wildcard spots in the East. By points percentage, it’s the Penguins (.575) and Sabres (.559), followed by the Islanders (.547), then the Senators and Red Wings (.533), then the Panthers (.532), and finally the Capitals (.524).

Given that the Capitals have sold a few pieces, I’ll assume they’re not going to make it. Same with Detroit, although I think next year they’ll start making a serious push towards making the playoffs. Panthers have had a terrible year. I’m also not super convinced the Penguins have what it takes this year. It wouldn’t shock me to see Buffalo and Ottawa in the last two wild card spots.

Good luck against Boston and Carolina though.

Keep in mind RJ, that Armstrong got the one thing he coveted more than anything.. a potential top 10 pick(well, 5-16 lol).. Ott has a nice young team with vets but they’ll struggle to get into the playoffs.

I think what Armstrong coveted more than anything was nothing with salary coming back.

I'm not anti-Arizona or anything, but a lot of the folks that were saying hockey wouldn't work there were right. The apathy outside of a chunk of die-hard fans is worse than any other market. I don't think it's ever going to work there, and the league propping them up for so long is starting to look like the wrong call. It's nothing like it was when they first moved from Winnipeg. The only difference between them and the Thrashers is that the league is helping the Coyotes out.

Unless of course the NHL wanted somewhere for teams to send their LTIR contracts, in which case it's a rousing success.

Panthers are this years biggest enigma. Although Tkachuk is scoring a ton their team chemistry has felt off. Also Spencer Knight hasn’t faired well and luckily Bobz has held them in games.

Every time I turn on a Buffalo Sabres game Tage Thompson is lighting the lamp again. What a f***ing stud.

You have to really give Kevyn Adams some praise on his recent moves and signings. That team is young and hungry and a fun team to watch.

Yup, the common thread among Yote fans is that management is struggling financially and is going broke or already very close to it

AZ relocation talks should start as soon as Bettman retires.

Everybody who spoke with any kind of confidence or authority on what the Coyotes might have wanted or were going to do owes everybody else a public apology.

Especially the professional and amateur media.

Totally agree. Canadian Junior Hockey League teams attract more fans than Arizona. No idea why they don’t move that team. Would help increase league revenue. After all these failed years it is quite obvious hockey does not work in Arizona

Watching Ottawa vs Rangers now and Chychrun just went down. Guys pretty fragile. Hope hes ok he stayed on the bench.

I will never understand why people pin this on Bettman. If the owners wanted Arizona out of Arizona, they'd be gone.

You don't say? Who could guess.

So I know of the Merulos from a past job, I taught their brand officer (the owner's son) in a class. I also worked with their current chief of staff for hockey ops. They are really good people, lots of philanthropy and very successful.

One thing they aren't though, is unlimited pockets, and Merulo isn't used to failing on his ventures. He's not going to go broke, but he certainly isn't going to blindly pump a bunch of money into a franchise just to win. He's successful but doesn't have stupid amounts of money, so I expect this pattern to continue.

I’m so over Arizona. Can’t even afford to ice a good team in a cap era. Like 6 retired/injured contracts just to break floor and not pay money. Playing in a college arena. Move them already.

Fooking joke

In my defense, I don't think I've ever criticized Bettman on these board before. But if the owners want the Coyotes to move, Bettman's retirement is the perfect cover...

Based on the original ask of 3 first round picks.
Number of games played per season.
Number of injuries.
Sheltered minutes
My ability as a psychic hockey watcher (PHW) we are way beyond advanced stats!
It was intially 4 1st equivalents lol

Pagnotta says Kings offer was: LA's Bjornfot (+ 2 1sts) offered for Chychrun.
That should of closed the deal. FU Yotes.

I already like Gavrikov. Nice range + mobility.

Apparently this was their offer

Wow, that would have been a great deal for them, stupid franchise. Although probably better for us, 2 1sts is steep for a fragile guy who already had a scare in his 1st game back

After a year of this AZ is right at the top of my list of disliked teams. I'm even pulling for Tkachuk & strudel to make the playoffs just to lower that pick even if it means listen to more Bustfield bs.

Time to move them to Quebec so we can all forget about them.

Edit: Move them to Oubliette, a town in Quebec you put things to forget about them.

Maybe once Houston gets a team, along with Atlanta, Houston can help the WC situation and move Arizona to Quebec or something.
