Kings did not trade for Chychrun!

Chychrun, Doughty?
Can Doughty cover for him on the top line?

Chychrun, Roy
That pair doesn't have a lot of puck moving. Chychrun's passing isn't better than Roy's.

Chychrun, Durzi
Good 3rd pair probably. How much are they giving up for a 3rd pair.

Chychrun, Clarke in the future.
He isn't the shutdown guy you'd ideally play with Clarke.

Don't see where he fits. Lot's to give up for an awkward fit.

Problem is probably still AZ wanting to dump 5M on the team they're trading him to. Don't see how the King's can absorb 5M & it's too much to move that.

Contrary to what some say, Chychrun is:
+Good defensively
+Good at making breakout passes

Cons of his game:
-Isn't very creative
-Can get caught too deep in the offensive zone

They think he's best when paired with a creative dman (Durzi? Clarke?). I like how they kind of clowned on the Oilers incorrect analysis of him.

Also said he's continually working on his craft trying to improve his game.

Based on some of what they said, I don't think Chychrun will be traded before the deadline.

I thought some of the commentary on Schmaltz was interesting. Very underrated player IMO.

Chychrun flourished with Hjalmarsson, he's a perfect pair for him. Solid defensively and not completely inept on offense. A Mitchell type is best for him. He mostly paired with Goligoski, who was a good fit as well. The key is having someone with decent defensive acumen.

Roy is probably the best option on the Kings right now.

He's been paired with Gostisbehere this year. Ghost isn't known for being good defensively.

I don't think someone like Mitchell makes a lot of sense because he's not a mobile puck carrier.

What happens if Armstrong won't come off his high horse and doesn;t have a deal he'll make by noon Friday?
It will look so bad for Chychrun to start playing again....and how will his play be then? And team, overall?
They will tank their way to 32nd probably.

If I'm JC I'm refusing to put on an Arizona jersey ever again.

Suspend me or whatever, I'm going to go on vacation while we lose 6-1 hockey games.

They actually went on a 9(?) game point streak without him, which I think is really damning about the 'difference maker" dialogue.

I think Chychrun/Roy is a contender second pairing

The problem is they want a Karlsson price for a Muzzin.

What happens if their building literally throws them out?
What happens if they draft a player and then a few weeks later renounce the rights to that player?
What happens if they are penalized a first round pick and a second round pick for scouting violations?
What happens if they have been the subject of two investigations by the National Labor Relations Board based on filed complaints that the “team spied on staff, engaged in union busting, and fired two employees who raised concerns about pay,”

Why anybody ever thinks they can interpret or predict the behavior of the Arizona Coyotes is beyond me.

Disagree. The problem was I watched the 2nd and most of the third period on my big TV after the outdoor game finished. That is the only time I haven't watched the Kings on my phone since the all-star break. After the Coyotes tied the game, I switched back to watching on my phone. Kings won. Needless to say I'm watching all of the games on my phone from here on out. Problem solved.

Finally, someone here who understands the difference between correlation and causation.

Nailed it. He is an ideal second pairing LHD for a team. Decent gap control with very good first pass out of the zone. Hearing the price and the stubborn attitude of Armstrong probably makes most GMs roll eyes.

I really wonder if the NHLPA takes a look at benching players for "trade related reasons". Chy was benched for weeks and this should not be allowed as the team could be looked as soft-tanking.

Not sure the PA wants to raise much awareness regarding this. Chychrun still gets paid. They still get their dues.

Yeah, should be the NHL head office on that. My bad.

The NHL wants to have competition and not promote tanking. If players are sitting for weeks on end, doesn't that show a lack of competition.

Yes, but his deployments have been soft as possible this year. Mitchell wasn't super mobile but he certainly broke out and moved the puck well. Maybe a slightly more mobile version of him. That's why I mentioned Roy, he's jumping up all over the place lately and is still getting back.

Guys over rated and I think Blake knows it.
Scratch him and the team starts winning.
Seems Blake made Cal going back part of the trade.
The Yotes GM, whoever that is , balked.

I wonder if any of the recent deals have soured anything or altered either side's thinking. I am assuming Blake wouldn't make a Jeannot like trade, but that deal may have altered the price in Arizona's mind and now he will be lost for nothing when his contract runs out or at the final deadline as a rental for far less :P

That's ALL??? for the legend that is Jakob Chychrun?
Wow...wanting to go to the Yotes board to see if there is a suicide watch and lynch Armstrong.
And no doubt, they must also be LOVING the #3, 2026 for Ghost...

I'm way too annoyed at Blake to make fun of Arizona the proper way they deserve right now

Clarke and two 1sts LOL

okay that makes me feel a little better, thanks armstrong

Ottawa suddenly LOADED at LHD with Sanderson, Chabot, Chychrun
Keep in mind RJ, that Armstrong got the one thing he coveted more than anything.. a potential top 10 pick(well, 5-16 lol).. Ott has a nice young team with vets but they’ll struggle to get into the playoffs.
