Both my Mother and I did not need a wake-up call from the staff here at the Personal Care Home, but we both agreed that the games are boring when the Jets don't score (although PLD's PPG made her smile a bit). What is the solution? Hit the net, perhaps? The Jets need to start watching some of this March Madness basketball stuff where they hit "nothing but net" and get some pointers. My Mother gives this game four "Waiting for something good to happen" out of five, she wanted to cheer, but all she got was disappointment...

This is exactly what I'd do if I was Bowness ( Chevy) is to healthy scratch Scheifele, for 1 or maybe 2 games. May make his attitude worse, and Chipman fears losing big playoff revenues, so it likely won't happen.
All I know is one thing for sure in the NHL -- you will never win big games, or tough playoff series, unless the whole team gives a 100 % effort. A lot of the Jets are, but their leader Scheifele is the problem -- what do you do ???

You put a real good goalie on those teams from the beginning of the year and they have a real good chance to make the playoffs.

Think dreger couple trade deadlines ago Said 55s name was out there in talks so must be something they aware of. Wonder if they thought new coach would change things? We were all hoping that... the pk is improved, the pp is killing us. But all hoping a new coach would inspire these clowns but guess not. 55 needs to go. Wonder if you can convince Dubois to go 4 5 years, trade 55 and do whatever it takes to get rid of Wheeler also.

The Jets are not scratching Scheifele, a benching for a period did nothing and scratching him wont either. Only Mark knows what's going on in his head but apparently giving it his all on the ice for this team is not a priority.

Unfortunately, if we bench him we have lost our top goal scorer.
Have to reduce his minutes and hope he gets his shit together.
I agree, Dubois, Perfetti would be fine, along with who you get for Scheif, and it would be a good player (s) Problem with Perfetti, is can he stay healthy for more than 1/2 a season ? I don't think so, but hope he proves me wrong, as he's very young, and needs some man strength.

So, what do you do with him ? or are you saying it's totally up to him, and your prepared to put up with his halfhearted play ? I don't know, as it's a very tough call this late in the season.

Mostly wins you puck battles and retain possession in the ozone, you defend better in the dzone, and wears your opponent down.What does being physical do? The bottom 6 is all physical and can't do anything. Physical is great with a good head and hands. Barron should have probably been promoted. I love Nino's game but most of the bottom 6 suck at everything but physical.

Was Mark Scheifele really the reason this team lost. Was his lost draw worse than Dubois's? I mean Dubois at least had time to move the guy out of the goalie's eyes, but he didn't.
What I saw on that lost draw was Wheeler didn't fill the gap, which gave a clean shot. What I saw on the ice was Wheeler struggled to win one on one's and make any good puck movements. I did see Scheifele give Dubois a great feed that got him attacking off the edge, by stickhandling through the Kings trap. I saw him set up Ehlers for two in a row from the slot at the top of the circles, great shooting area, no shots on goal though.
I mean Scheifele drew a lot of Danault in this game, and Danault is a hard matchup centre, the Kings didn't give the Jets a lot of space, and the guys who aren't strong on the puck struggled to create any space.
I don't think he should be averse to criticism in this game, or any recent loss, but he's become the scapegoat.
I thought Connor actually had a worse game than Scheifele, objectively. I wonder if he has some kind of hand injury because he's not shooting the puck very dangerously at all, and the rest of his game isn't dominant enough to protect him from negative results.
I just don't know what you do if you are Bones. Maybe load up the power line of Connor-Dubois-Scheifele, get them to play the way you want. Put Namestnikov back between Ehlers and Wheeler, which was working? And move Niedrreiter down a line?
Looks like a lot of posters are just dumping on Schiefele and Wheeler. Schiefele has tied his career high for goals in a season, yet you want to vilify him and leave Connor Kyle out of your mouths, despite KC having 19 less goals than last year.

I have a couple of questions for someone with more hockey knowledge than me. (In other words, almost everybody.)
1 - Who really is our top goal scorer since the All-Star Game or whenever you want to call the start of the Jets' slump out of second place?
2 - When is Perfetti due back and who do you think he replaces (or bumps down) in the lineup?

Not sure about #1, but I seem to recall perfetti's timeline had him returning right around the last week of the season or first week of playoffs
Problem with benching/dumping/scratching scheifele is there's 0 viable top-6 C replacement for him. Maybe Namestnikov in spurts, but that's probably it. You aren't increasing chances in more goals shifting Lowry or Stenlund more. And same goes for next year, short of signing/trading for someone.
