Forbort has always looked fine when I have watched Kings

What is issues with him?

His questionable decision making, his awful shot that gets blocked 9/10 times, he's slow and often looks like a pylon on the ice. Soft in front of the net, has a long reach that he seldom uses and is ineffective in being a physical presence. He's pretty much a pylon on skates.

Hyped expectations from playing on the first pairing with Doughty, if you know what he is, and what he does, you are fine with him, if you expect him to be the 2nd coming of Jesus christ, you might be disappointed

There's a word out floating around that he broke his wrist again last night on that play that looked like it was barely hit / jammed / hit glass....trying to find out if that's
true...Rosen seems busy with stuff...so was Forbort on ice today for practice?

I am just looking for a SAH defender to pair with a more offensive young defender on Hawks going forward

Either way nothing makes sense between our teams here

He's fine as your #6 defender. His foot speed is the biggest thing with him. And the fact that he plays with Doughty probably hurts him more than helps. He's always playing against the other team's best players and there's no reason for them to attack Doughty so they attack him. Put him with a puck mover on the bottom pair in sheltered minutes and 2nd PK unit and he'd be fine.

So on that note, send us your 1st! ;)

More like first round pedigree v. playing with Doughty.

I've defended Forbort on here before but he is, in fact, pretty awful this season.

Forbort for Rutta?

Rutta has no future in Chicago beyond this year and Hawks can put Forbort in as bottom pairing SAH guy this year and next

You guys can probably move Rutta at deadline for pick while clearing out cap for next year removing Forbort 2M+

He has his moments, but that applies to everyone, overall, he's been fine....he's getting a bad rap in LA because everyone is hyperventilating about the season in general

He got a bad rap prior to this season. I've defended him before because he's boring so nothing he ever does jumps out except for his bad plays and then its like, "this guy is trash."

His play has slipped below the level of "fine" so far this season, however. Too many poor plays v. prior years.

I think the one season Forbort actually looked like he could've been a top 4 dman was two years ago, when he appeared in all 82 games and looked like a steady dman who can be relied upon to get the job done in his end.

Since then, it's been all downhill for him.

That's a Pearson/Hagelin type deal, which in a Kings/Hawks scenario where there don't seem to be many answers, might be an answer.

Forbort is worth at least a second round pick from any team who wants a defensive defenseman. He is big, can be physical without taking penalties, and is almost elite at defending with his combined stick work and wingspan.

He can excel on Pk1, and is best as a 5-6 guy in terms of minutes on a good team.

The Kings biggest reason for losing is depth on defense. You have a number 1 in Doughty, but Muzzin is a 4 at best and Martinez is a 5. Forbort should be a six and Phaneuf a 7.

But they have gaping holes at the 2-3 positions, so guys play to much and get exposed. You have to wonder how much worse the season would be if LaDue and Brickley had played 2-3 spot minutes.

Cmon man.....are you freaking serious? Martinez, a 5 at best, Muzzin a # 4?

Holy christ how 25 games have erased freaking careers....
