He's fine as your #6 defender. His foot speed is the biggest thing with him. And the fact that he plays with Doughty probably hurts him more than helps. He's always playing against the other team's best players and there's no reason for them to attack Doughty so they attack him. Put him with a puck mover on the bottom pair in sheltered minutes and 2nd PK unit and he'd be fine.Forbort has always looked fine when I have watched Kings

So on that note, send us your 1st!His questionable decision making, his awful shot that gets blocked 9/10 times, he's slow and often looks like a pylon on the ice. Soft in front of the net, has a long reach that he seldom uses and is ineffective in being a physical presence. He's pretty much a pylon on skates.

Are you describing Rob Scuderi?
Hyped expectations from playing on the first pairing with Doughty, if you know what he is, and what he does, you are fine with him, if you expect him to be the 2nd coming of Jesus christ, you might be disappointed
He's boring. Looks fine, but just doesn't do much on either side of the ice. Very passive. Basically your #6 stay at home type guy, being played as a #2.Forbort has always looked fine when I have watched Kings

More like first round pedigree v. playing with Doughty.
I've defended Forbort on here before but he is, in fact, pretty awful this season.
Forbort for Rutta?
Rutta has no future in Chicago beyond this year and Hawks can put Forbort in as bottom pairing SAH guy this year and next
You guys can probably move Rutta at deadline for pick while clearing out cap for next year removing Forbort 2M+
Forbort was good two years ago, fine last year, and flat out bad this year

The Kings biggest reason for losing is depth on defense. You have a number 1 in Doughty, but Muzzin is a 4 at best and Martinez is a 5. Forbort should be a six and Phaneuf a 7.
But they have gaping holes at the 2-3 positions, so guys play to much and get exposed. You have to wonder how much worse the season would be if LaDue and Brickley had played 2-3 spot minutes.
