Think they have next season also to make the playoffs. If they fail making playoffs and are out they gone by next Christmas .
I think terry wants to see Adams really having one last summer on him having the chance really trying before firing him
A better question is what has KA done to better the team? He has made us worse other then allow guys already here to have career years last year. What is he going to do in his fifth season he hasn’t tried in his first four?
Sit back and imagine the progression of the team if Thompson doesn’t suddenly become a top tier center.
The previous gains weren’t some skillful GM work. They were blind luck
Thats what they said last summerThey just cant wait more . Adams been really patient so need some action this summer .
It’s almost as if the players themselves have a say in these things. Or that circumstances aren’t is simple as you are portraying them.2020:
Sam signs a 1 year deal.
Linus signs a 1 year deal.
Montour signs a 1 year deal.
VO signs a 2 year deal.
Eakin signs a 2 year deal.
Girgs signs a 3 year deal.
Lazar signs a 2 year deal
So the good players got 1 year deals while the bad players got multi-year contracts.
Makes sense..
Probably because the good players wanted to hit UFA ASAP and were wholly uninterested in signing a multi-year deal.2020:

Weren't the rumors that the Sabres never offered Sam a big extension, but that he wanted to sign with us? Sam didn't hit the eject button until it was clear the Sabres were entering another rebuilding phase and the sabres low balled him again.Probably because the good players wanted to hit UFA ASAP and were wholly uninterested in signing a multi-year deal.
Hey you're our third GM in AND we've had a bunch of coaches "UGH sure lets sign long-term"It’s almost as if the players themselves have a say in these things. Or that circumstances aren’t is simple as you are portraying them.
Well, when you've kissed the owner's *** for years prior to getting the GM position, and was able to convince Terry that there didn't need to be anybody overseeing your actions in the ownership/management structure despite this being a 1st time major position in any organization, and your only experience you had in any sort of player management position prior was being an agent, yeah I would understand having an unearned sense of importance and smugness. Show me a picture where he doesn't have a look of smugness or bewilderment.Kevyn Adams is smug. Before he was GM a group of people went downtown to protest outside the arena in the cold because they were fed up. Kevyn invited them in the building to warm up and it was presented light heartedly by the local news media but I remember thinking to myself they way Adams did it just seemed very smug to me. Like the fans were idiots for being there in the first place.
Everything I have seen as a GM has reinforced this initial feeling I got from Adams from that day. Not signing any quality free agents and just thinking your young guys are all going to take leaps is smug. Thinking that Levi at 21 is going to jump from college to the NHL and be a quality goalie is the epitome of smug.
Adams doesn't know what he is doing but acts like a guy who has done it all. If Terry were smart, he'd can Adams ass right now and go find someone with a little humility that understands the work that has to be done.
Sam wanting to sign long term was during Botts tenure. IIRC it was a year after Jack’s big contract. But he got a 2yr bridge deal instead. After that he got the one year deal. He left because he didn’t want to go through a rebuild. But his parting was very amicable.Weren't the rumors that the Sabres never offered Sam a big extension, but that he wanted to sign with us? Rumors were Ullmark wanted $6x6 but the Sabres offer came in well below that?
Risto and Hronek are poised to fall off this list this year. Brady Tkachuk either has to get traded to the Sabres, or the Sens need to make the playoffs. He is the largest and loudest impediment to having a full Sabres active player list."As first dropped in The Chat, the most regular season games played without reaching the playoffs (active players):
Jeff Skinner (965 GP)
Rasmus Ristolainen (695 GP)
Zemgus Girgensons (645 GP)
Rasmus Dahlin (390 GP)
Brady Tkachuk (389 GP)
Filip Hronek (344 GP)
Tage Thompson (327 GP)
Casey Mittelstadt (313 GP)
Henri Jokiharju (303 GP)
Victor Olofsson (293 GP)
Not going 6x6 with Ullmark seems just ridiculous. Maybe I have the blinders on but even on his way out that would have been considered solid for the team no?Sam wanting to sign long term was during Botts tenure. Ullmark reportedly wanted 6x6 going into free agency. Not when he signed that 1yr deal.
Good job Kevyn..
Also, that's on Terry for hiring people with zero experience
And targeted Peyton KrebsBuffalo Sabres and Kevyn Adams sunk 10 million into
Jost
Bryson
Olofsson
Stillman
Let that sink in.
