Kerfoot is a guy who is responsible defensively and can generate an scoring chance now and then, he's a good fit for the third line who can move up to the second line in a pinch. Bad as Bunting has been there at times is no way Kerfoot is a preference in the #1 slot.
So good he got caught puck watching on the tying goal.
I will repeat this until the end of time:
IT IS LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR AN NHL TEAM TO WIN A CUP WITH A PLUG LIKE KERFOOT ON THE FIRST LINE.
You're LITERALLY contradicting yourselfAnd someone who should be in the Selke conversation did too
I will repeat this until the end of time:
PEOPLE HAVE NO CLUE WHAT LITERALLY MEAN
Seriously though, the team can win with Kerfoot on the 1st line (he won't get first-line minutes)
So good he got caught puck watching on the tying goal.
Are people starting to miss Zach Hyman riding shotgun with Auston and Mitch, while watching Kerfoot attempt to fill that role?
Can't wait until Ryan O'Reilly returns and Kerfoot goes back to being a 3rd liner.
Kerfoot @ $3.5 mil + Holl @ $2.0 = Hyman @ $5.5 milNo, Hyman wanted too much money, and for someone so obsessed with money you should agree. Or pull up his playoff stats with the Leafs, I am sure you'd agree not many miss him.
It's pretty amazing how stacked we are at C and RW and we have crash test dummies at LW.Are people starting to miss Zach Hyman riding shotgun with Auston and Mitch, while watching Kerfoot attempt to fill that role?

Leafs certainly could have done without those 2 to keep Zach.
Hyman's 11 goals in 16 playoff games as Edmonton went to the final 4 before bowing out to Cup champs Avs is what the Leafs could really use back.

Yep, pretty hard to argue with that.Kerfoot @ $3.5 mil + Holl @ $2.0 = Hyman @ $5.5 mil

It was to protect Holl. Why did Dubas want to protect him so bad? He picked up Jarred McCann so he can leave him exposed and protect Kerfoot. Now McCann is a 30 goal scorer for Seattle. Ops! He probably wouldn’t score 30 here, but I do believe Dubas talent evaluation should be questioned. There was nothing ever special about Kerfoot.
It was to protect Holl.
Kerfoot was exposed as well and obviously Seattle made the correct choice in selecting McCann.
What would be interesting is the expansion draft order - like if seattle had to go from anaheim firstOk, thanks. My memory must be fuzzy on that one. Protecting Holl is not a great move either, to be honest. Doesn’t make it much better.
Nope, not better at all. Hopefully they will do better next expansion.Ok, thanks. My memory must be fuzzy on that one. Protecting Holl is not a great move either, to be honest. Doesn’t make it much better.
Don't they get all unprotected players at the same time and make their Team from that? What would be interesting is the expansion draft order - like if seattle had to go from anaheim first
They had all their defencemen picked before toronto if they had to do it alphabetically
So we leave kerfoot and holl unprotected.. seattle already had dunn larsson borgen soucy oleksiak etc.. picked (others i cant remember)
Do they even take holl
No ideaNope, not better at all. Hopefully they will do better next expansion.

I don't believe they go from Team to Team like a draft.
O goals in his last 25 games and 1 goal in his last 34.
