Kerfoot is killing me...

He skates around nicely but he honestly doesn’t do anything productive when he has or is trying to get the puck

Kerfoot is a guy who is responsible defensively and can generate an scoring chance now and then, he's a good fit for the third line who can move up to the second line in a pinch. Bad as Bunting has been there at times is no way Kerfoot is a preference in the #1 slot.

So good he got caught puck watching on the tying goal.

And someone who should be in the Selke conversation did too

I will repeat this until the end of time:

IT IS LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR AN NHL TEAM TO WIN A CUP WITH A PLUG LIKE KERFOOT ON THE FIRST LINE.

I will repeat this until the end of time:

PEOPLE HAVE NO CLUE WHAT LITERALLY MEAN

Seriously though, the team can win with Kerfoot on the 1st line (he won't get first-line minutes)

You're LITERALLY contradicting yourself 😅

Get caught watching... so your w
Solution was to get 4 player on the same side and the 5th one stick on goal post?

Its not a kerfoot mistake, just tell me whats lafferty doing? Mccabe was already in 1v1 battle with thompson, he had no reason for lafferty to left the front of the net to pinch on thompson too and created a huge hole in the slot...

Its 100% lafferty responsability this goal

Are people starting to miss Zach Hyman riding shotgun with Auston and Mitch, while watching Kerfoot attempt to fill that role?

Can't wait until Ryan O'Reilly returns and Kerfoot goes back to being a 3rd liner.

No, Hyman wanted too much money, and for someone so obsessed with money you should agree. Or pull up his playoff stats with the Leafs, I am sure you'd agree not many miss him.

Kerfoot @ $3.5 mil + Holl @ $2.0 = Hyman @ $5.5 mil

Leafs certainly could have done without those 2 to keep Zach.

Hyman's 11 goals in 16 playoff games as Edmonton went to the final 4 before bowing out to Cup champs Avs is what the Leafs could really use back.

It's pretty amazing how stacked we are at C and RW and we have crash test dummies at LW. 😭

Though to be fair to the Leafs, if Hyman has scored like that for the Leafs during the playoffs they may have been more inclined to keep him despite his contract demands

Nice of you to skip the Leafs' playoffs, thanks for showing your motives like usual.

At the time of signing, he would have had 5 goals in 32 games and 13 points in 32 games. Surely you would have been happy, right?

Hyman is 5.5 for 7 years, no thank you.

Put Nylander on the left and everyone would stop complaining about LW depth.

There is only a certain amount of superstars each team has.

Yep, pretty hard to argue with that.
I'm sure this is one of Duabs regrets.

There's nothing wrong with Kerfoot. He's our token vanilla player and can skate beautifully.

He's an athlete as well and won't degrade as the playoff games pile up. He will remain vanilla and soft but the fact he will "remain" is all that matters. He's a sleeper pick to have a 3-4 goal series if we can make it to round 3. I.e he won't degrade, majority around him will degrade, therefore he will stand out among players left.

He's only annoying because even after all these moves the team is still too soft and dumb, so he's easy to grab as the whipping boy since he's the token vanilla player.

why does he keep getting propped up by the coach over and over again?

They should just skip to the obvious and make him team captain.

Why did Dubas want to protect him so bad? He picked up Jarred McCann so he can leave him exposed and protect Kerfoot. Now McCann is a 30 goal scorer for Seattle. Ops! He probably wouldn’t score 30 here, but I do believe Dubas talent evaluation should be questioned. There was nothing ever special about Kerfoot.

It was to protect Holl.
Kerfoot was exposed as well and obviously Seattle made the correct choice in selecting McCann.

Ok, thanks. My memory must be fuzzy on that one. Protecting Holl is not a great move either, to be honest. Doesn’t make it much better.
What would be interesting is the expansion draft order - like if seattle had to go from anaheim first

They had all their defencemen picked before toronto if they had to do it alphabetically

So we leave kerfoot and holl unprotected.. seattle already had dunn larsson borgen soucy oleksiak etc.. picked (others i cant remember)

Do they even take holl

Nope, not better at all. Hopefully they will do better next expansion.

Don't they get all unprotected players at the same time and make their Team from that?
I don't believe they go from Team to Team like a draft.

No idea

It makes sense to get a big list and just pick and choose..
