I don't see it that way. It's a lot closer than you think my friend
I will say he is an underrated playmaker. His speed is an asset, his lack of size and strength obviously his major limitation. As others have said, he is useful in a 3LW role.Kerfoot is super underrated... he does a lot of good things and will likely be 3LW or 4LW come playoff time.
I am really happy with that as a fan, he may not be flashy, but he is fast, pressures well, is good defensively, and adds a little bit of offense.
We can either spread out the talent and Kerfoot can play somewhere as a complimentary player in the top 9 or stack the top 6 and have Kerfoot playing with other defensive players who can occasionally chip in.
Depends if you believe a piece of paper that someone labeled 1 2 3 4 so people can understand in which we talk about at a said time. The number 1 line could be alot of combination of players. I think there's 3 too a line, little and something called core 4 or something. What's 3 minus 4?I will repeat this until the end of time:
IT IS LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR AN NHL TEAM TO WIN A CUP WITH A PLUG LIKE KERFOOT ON THE FIRST LINE.
An aging 55 point, PP-reliant offensive center with discipline issues is not equivalent to a HOF goalie, and Barrie (50% retained) and Kerfoot is an infinitely better return than Raycroft, who was a literal liability to our team. That Kadri for Barrie and Kerfoot trade is bordering on Rask for Raycroft level bad.
Kerfoot is killing me
Did you see his tap in goal last night?
He had almost the entire net to shoot at. When he got his opportunity he shot it partially off the defenders' stick, and (due to his curve) raised it off the underside of the crossbar. Hard to imagine, but it almost didn't go in.

Lol. You call that soft glide towards the net "drives hard"? Do you skate or play any hockey? That is not an example of driving hard to the crease. My point is that he had the whole open net yet he almost didn't score. The puck wobbles off his stick and the puck glances off the Defenders' stick.Um, what? His shot didn't hit the defender's stick or the crossbar. I think your eyes are playing tricks on you. Watch from 4:27 of the video on the next replay.
I don't think we need to be criticizing the goals Kerfoot scores, much less when he drives hard to the crease, and nicely puts a bouncing rebound into the middle of the net.
He skates hard and outraces his opposition from center ice into the zone, and then heads straight to the net, arriving just in time to put the rebound into the back of the net.Lol. You call that soft glide towards the net "drives hard"?
Again, that's not true. He put the puck directly in the center of the net, despite the puck bouncing on him, and it didn't hit the defender's stick at all.My point is that he had the whole open net yet he almost didn't score. There's no question he scored a goal. He's come a long way from earlier in the season where the brain told him to celebrate before the puck passes the goal line.He skates hard and outraces his opposition from center ice into the zone, and then heads straight to the net, arriving just in time to put the rebound into the back of the net.
If you're criticizing that, it says more about your inability to give credit where credit is due for certain players than it does about the player.

Watch the replay from 4:27 onwards. You're looking at the first replay which kind of creates an optical illusion because of how it comes back out of the net.

No. There's no mistake. I never said he didn't score. I said he almost didn't score. But there's no defense of Kerfoot. He's a slightly below average player. His skating might be the only thing that separates him from being an AHL. It's certainly not his skill.I think it's rather unfortunate that instead of just acknowledging that you made a mistake and incorrectly blamed Kerfoot for something that didn't happen while he was scoring a goal for our team, you choose to just move on to something else he did over 5 months ago, but yes, unlike scoring a goal, that play is an example of something that he could be legitimately criticized for. He should have made sure the puck got in the net. And maybe he learned, because this most recent time, he did.
Both would be incorrect statements, and your description of what happened in the play was wrong and contradicted by the video.I never said he didn't score. I said he almost didn't score.
You can edit this if you like. So you really want to argue that Kerfoot is a "good player"?Both would be incorrect statements, and your description of what happened in the play was wrong and contradicted by the video.
He put a bouncing rebound clean into the middle of the net. A good play by a good player.

Using a goal a player scored to prove he sucks -- that's a first.

Base on the above screenshots, I don’t think it hit the stick. The puck is inches above the defender’s stick. The puck then hits the camera (because the camera view shakes) and bounces up and subsequently hits the cross bar.
He is playing better though. If this was a few weeks ago, what you described would have likely happened.![]()
