Yandle is better than Gus. And he’s making almost a minimum salary.
yandle is better than gus tho.
While other teams play and develop youth, we get to watch old vets get worse. Cool, cool.
Oh, I no longer joke about it. It's real. Giroux will be gone this offseason and they'll use his money to pay for Johnny Hockey.
for fletcher, yesis that supposed to be something to brag about?
Gaudreau was his teammateI don't even dislike signing Yandle but I may very well throw up at the thought of this being a Kevin Hayes lead team after this season if Giroux walks.
Hell, he's the leader now. Bring in all his buddies. Who else can they bring in now?
Hopefully the ntc is for the AHL and he is playing there
He looked utterly shot last year. In what world, at age 35, would any sane GM expect him to be better?
It’s so damn frustrating.
Are they building playoff team? Yeah, probably. Are they building one with even a prayer of getting past the 2nd round? Not likely, and it’s another year in which future key players will get less NHL experience than they should.
At least Coffey, until Lindros ran him over, was still an elite skater and offensive force. Yandle was never even close to being Coffey. He's as likely to help put the team over the top as Coffey was.
I am so, so sorry. I am totally neutral to you guys, you don't deserve this. Worst part is he's complete dogshit and has to play everyday. Condolences.
Goalies don't have friendsIs Hayes friends with any good goalies he can convince to sign here for bargain rates
This is an example of building team to keep ones job. If they miss the playoffs, Fletcher is likely gone so he’s gonna do whatever it takes to make the dance rather than whatever it takes to build a Cup contender.
It’s the same short sighted philosophy that ran the team into the ground under Bob Clarke in 89-90.
"rushing" Cam York.
This is his Draft +3 season, FFS. This isn't like what Winnipeg did with Ville Heinola or Chicago with Henri Jokiharju. The kid plays a pro style game already and is physically capable of handling the rigors.
Because we just experienced the last 9 years of Flyers hockey where trash veterans consistently play over prospects. This is just more of the same. We used a 1st round pick on York instead of Caufield in 2019, and despite progression in his game, we're afraid to play him still in 2021, going on 2022.
listen. This is offensive AF.
I can’t wait to watch York significantly outplay Yandle in camp and then get sent to LHV.
Because old guys and shit
For me this is sort of a win-win. If Yandle is competent he contributes to some Flyers wins. If he sucks, he contributes to some Flyers losses which necessitates a coaching change.
I enjoy how the same usual suspects are pumping up this move as some sort of positive leadership change as if they have any clue on what the locker was and now will be. Could be toxic.
