i hate this organization sometimes. remember the days when we'd target the top players available? i guess we only aim low now. Eichel? too risky! Tarasenko? too risky! but lets go get two shit players in Risto and Yandle. cause we know it's not risky at all to put two terrible defensive defensemen in our top 6, while simultaneously blocking our top young D prospect. so stupid.

Im pretty sure Im in the 1% lol but I really like our D on paper. If they use them properly (Yandle less then 17 min, PP and no D zone start, Risto #4 with 20 min instead of the 22 he average and PP, Ellis as the #2 with 22 to 24 min average, Morin as #7) this can work out as a really efficient D group. Plus York and Zamula will still be there pushing for the NHL.

because no team has ever relied upon young players to make meaningful contributions to teams. Makes no fcking sense. If we delayed farabee he wouldn't have been able to build off a 20 goal campaign....yet people still want to not see what we have in frost because a rookie cant come in and actually help idk

there's no way in hell yandle should see even 15 minutes of ice time unless 4+ of that is pp usage. He shouldn't see more than 12 min of EV at all given we have all these other guys who can play better.

I agree, but he'll play on PP1 for sure and he always average between 17 and 20 minutes the last 2 years. That's why I said LESS then 17 minute, PP time included.

Canadiens shouldn't have made it past Vegas if the refs weren't told to let a Canadian team through.

Playing in games means nothing. Gus was an absolute liability every time he was on the ice, and if I'm not mistaken, was the direct reason they lost at least two of the games against Tampa.

He was used sparingly because he sucks.

His usage in Montreal was indeed better, but then Gus got exposed badly in the last couple of games of the Cup. Good teams will find ways to exploit weak links.

This is a no brainer.... if he stinks, he retires.....if he is decent and York or Zamula aren't ready then he plays... Worse case he's up for 15-20 games doesn't play well and plays 10-14 minutes a night giving a couple more months of seasoning for York and Zamula (plus for you haters if he sucks and the team struggles one step closer to AV and Fletch getting fired).. No way anyone could watch those limited games York played for the Phantoms and say he's ready and couldn't use more seasoning (I watched those games!)....f***** nonsense. Zamula has a better argument tbh.... If either blow the team away in camp then Yandle becomes our #7 if he still looks good and Sam gets placed on waivers or Yandle retires and Sam stays as #7D.... People are overreacting especially at $900k.

So you don't think he should start in AHL with heavy TOI but directly in NHL as a bottom D ? I would like to see him start in the NHL right away too but is it the best way to start him?
