Arizona could be another interesting team to talk to. They need to both hit the cap floor and convince Clayton Keller that they're going to compete. Could they move their Ottawa first and/or some of their prospects for a Provorov/Konecny and the corpse of Ryan Ellis?
That's an intriguing thought. I checked the Coyotes' cap situation on CapFriendly and they don't need help reaching the floor. They are at $56.4 million with only 13 able-bodied players ($21 million on LTIR), 8 RFA contracts and 3 UFAs (1 of which is Brett Ritchie) to deal with.

Assuming it's insured, they might want the Ellis contact for 24-25 to 26-27.

Voracek and Little only have one year left, and they are taking up $13,541,667 in cap space.

Looking for all those teams trying to hire the great Chuck Fletcher…

Ellis’ contract will be more valuable to someone who is going to abuse LTIR like Vegas or Toronto. There’s also the matter of whether or not he is trying to play again, which has not yet definitively been reported on.

So this morning on WIP, DeCamara said he heard from someone "who would know" that TORTS is having a huge say in how things go. The caller was talking about Jones and how he thinks he'll do a good job, then DeCamara came in and said that. That TORTS is the driving force. Mentioned the 6 games he took off, and said he heard around the league that was looked at as a major power play by TORTS.

Found it interesting because it is right in line with a lot of speculation here, but also that it's actually being talked about on a medium that barely mentions the Flyers. It was also not spun in a positive light, and I don't think I've ever heard any of those guys go after TORTS.

Gonna be a fun year!

I always laugh that as a kid Gilbert Gottfried was always in kid movies as the guy with the wacky voice. Then rediscovering him again as an adult as a dirty humor type of comedian.

He was great when he was a guest on Stern back in the day. Also used to host USA Up All Night, on USA, where they would play PG-13 (Boobs) movies from the 80's

Lol, true enough. And that reminds me of a line from a Bobcat Goldthwait standup routine: "Shut up, kid. That talking horse movie paid for the swimming pool."

I always remember the Beverly Hills Cop II scene where Eddie Murphy pretends his wife has unpaid parking tickets. There is a part in that scene where he picks up the phone and screams b**ch!

That part in particular always cracks me up.

Their PR strategy is very interesting. It's solely about the triumvirate of Jonesy, Briere, and Torts. Not the players in any way.

They want the public to know a few messages crystal clear:

1) This is a new era (yeah, we'll see about that)
2) Old management/thinking is gone (yeah, we'll see about that)
3) Jonesy, Torts, and Briere are exactly the men who see it through.

Highly interesting approach. Not sure if it's right or wrong since the players aren't worth writing home about, unless they decide to profile young talent in the system instead.

The people running the team want the team to be all about themselves. That starts with Clarke and trickles down everywhere, and because Hilferty is the jock worshipper that finally gets to hang out with them he wants it to be that. They don't want it to be about the players. Those filthy, dirty, entitled little brats that need to be beaten down. It's just an ego-vehicle for the country club. That's the entire point of it.

47 years of failure?! WTAF are the marketing geniuses over there doing??? LOL!

I have withheld judgement on Camillo on account of the team giving her crew zilch to work with, but if this is her idea then she's a moron.

I still kinda suspect it's not her idea. This is a tonal shift. It matches Hilferty's constant and unprompted gushing about the "foundational titans"

It's one of the more tone deaf marketing campaigns I've seen in a long time. Most fans are going to be like WTF?! Just a horrifically bad idea. You'd have to be in your very late 50's to 60's and on up to remember the last Flyers championship, and the game isn't even remotely the same. Most people I talk to are sick to death of the bullies bullshit. So let's just heap more of it on and insult the intelligence of your fanbase. So incredibly stupid.

This goes back to hiring Torts, on what appears to have been, largely on the basis of his reputation and marketable cliches.

Tortorella = anger and yelling = he's taking no bullshit = accountability = improvement. It all makes for easy press conference answers and lazy social media content.
