Tortorella's idea of "attacking the Ozone" is "Be ready for pucks to ring around the boards so you can get them back deep"
Oh yeah? They told Sakic he could only be GM if he wasn't allowed to fire the coach and also that the coach would be heavily involved in management decisions?Colorado did the same with Sakic. Assistant VP made the GM a figurehead until he replaced them, and had more power than the nominal President.
It doesn't matter who has the title, what matters is who has the authority, Briere will sink or swim.
Jones supposedly has the authority to fire him, but in reality, Briere would have to screw up for Hilferty to approve that move.
In the end, whether it's Briere, or some hypothetical President, it's still a gamble.

Give me a f***ing break.
They'll never bring Kimmo in, unless he does a complete 180 and falls in line with other company propaganda yes men like Briere and Jones.Maybe we will get lucky and kimmo will become head of player development and take over that entire area
Especially when this coach said he doesn't pay attention to prospects or watch any ahl games, I mean, That's just stupid
Frost had to learn to be responsible on defense, as he did, his PT went up.An objectively good young player overcame inconsistent scoring usage and all stick/no carrot from a coach who had to be told by multiple front office people to utilize him properly, which he still was reluctant to do. You interpret it differently than the rest of us. I see it as a testament to Frost's resiliency and talent in the face of partiality and stubbornness. He was too good to suppress, but boy, Tortorella tried.
On May 10, 2013, the Avalanche promoted Sakic to executive vice president of hockey operations. In this expanded role, Sakic had the final say on all matters regarding hockey personnel. During Patrick Roy's time as head coach, they shared most of the duties normally held by a general manager. General Manager Greg Sherman remained in his post, but served mainly in an advisory role to Roy and Sakic. This de facto arrangement was formalized the following season, when Sakic was formally named general manager and Sherman was demoted to assistant general manager.Oh yeah? Frost didn't need to learn to be responsible defensively. He already was.
That's a load of bullshit that is needed to be fabricated to defend the God Emperor.
Damn toilet seats.Frost was a fantastic PKer in the CHL and AHL. Who does Tortorella choose to “develop” — his word — as a PKer? Tippett. Who is not good defensively and has never been a PKer and did pretty poorly in his sample.
Tortorella gnashes his teeth together at the idea of praising Frost. He’s not one of “his guys.” Backhanded compliments are as good as it gets.
Tortorella should stop wearing the sweater vest and start dressing like Rasputin.
Are you trying to sell Dan Silver another pillow?
Roy had so much power that he quit 2 years later because he didn't have enough say.Frost had to learn to be responsible on defense, as he did, his PT went up.
He was paired with Tippett most of the year, just like the end of last season.
Last year he had Cates at LW, this year, primarily Farabee.
Last 16 games, 2021-22: Frost 1.55, Cates 2.51, Tippett 1.24,
Torts shuffled people around the first 26 games, settled on Frost and Cates as his top 2 centers
Last 56 games, 2022-23: Frost 2.43, Tippett 1.94 (v TK 2.14), Farabee 1.62, Cates 1.56

Tortorella's idea of "attacking the Ozone" is feeding his horses Beefarino and punching them in the gut until they fart like tommyguns.

I dont believe a goalie can be a corner stone for a contender after being held in this shit hole for over 5 years. Hart is solid for us and i believe he can be great at another place but he will not be worth to sign him longterm for us.Okay, I want to make my pitch for the Flyers keeping Carter Hart (assuming we can only get a 2nd round pick + meh prospect, which is typically going rate unless you get a Cory Schneider type return of 10OA...)
The Flyers have a massive PR issue for just about everything. The one thing we have waited for on the Flyers for like, 30 years, is a franchise goaltender. Not a good or great goalie for a season at a time, but a franchise one. I believe Carter Hart is a franchise goaltender.
Considering our PR issue, I think it is worth it to Briere and Keith Jones to keep Carter Harter above all other vets during this (hopeful) fire sale that's coming. Trading him, in my mind, will make fans more upset than it's worth when he can have long-term success here even 7 years from now. It does prevent us from bottoming out, which is true, but I don't know if even he can stop us from being as bad as we'll be for a few years.
So I'm speaking purely from a PR standpoint...it may be the smarter move to keep Carter Hart if I was an executive of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Now go ahead and tear me apart.
I agree, just look at Gibson. He was the hottest young goalie once upon a time and I don't see him ever getting back to franchise level with the Ducks. That's the trajectory Carter is on. For his own career sake, he'd be smart to go elsewhere. He'll never put up elite stats here with the team in place through no fault of his own and by the time the team is ready to compete, his confidence is ultimately going to be completely shot. I do understand where Brindy's nose is coming from though, if we trade Carter Hart, I really believe he becomes that top 5 Franchise/Vezina level goalie for someone else especially if the team that trades for him has a solid defense. That would be horrific PR for a team that literally has waited since Pelle to get one only to trade him away before his prime.I dont believe a goalie can be a corner stone for a contender after being held in this shit hole for over 5 years. Hart is solid for us and i believe he can be great at another place but he will not be worth to sign him longterm for us.
And exactly this they will do... cause flyers

On the topic, will Frost still play in the slot on the league worst PP under Torts and Rocky?
